What to expect
Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997, Pompeii offers a glimpse into the history of Ancient Rome. The city's timeline was abruptly halted in 79AD when the nearby Vesuvius volcano erupted, covering the city, its buildings, streets, and inhabitants.Your ticket includes an audio guide that will transport you back to first-century ancient Rome. As you explore the monumental buildings and houses, you'll be able to admire walls adorned with remarkable mosaics and paintings. The forum, once the hub of political and social life in the city, is also open for exploration. Here, you'll encounter plaster casts of the victims alongside everyday objects. This experience allows you to understand how people lived during this significant period in history.

Not allowed:
It is not permitted to bring bags, backpacks, suitcases, or briefcases larger than 30 × 30 × 15 cm into the site. You may leave them at the bag check free of charge

Please note that it is mandatory to purchase a ticket with at least 5 participants
You can visit the archaeological area at any time within the opening hours: from 1 April to 31 October - from 09.00 am to 07.00 pm (last entrance at 05.30 pm) and from 1 November to 31 March - from 09.00 am to 05.00 pm (last entrance at 03:30 pm)
People with disabilities and one carer are admitted for free and don't need to buy a ticket. A certificate of disability might be requested by the venue
Children under 18 years old enter for free, and can purchase the audioguide at the ticket booth
The audio guide is available in Italian, English, French, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Russian, Chinese, and Japanese
In case of loss of the audio guide, there is a fee of €200 per device
