What to expect
Trade the beach for the cool, shaded vibes of the Troodos Mountains – where nature's about to blow your mind. We're talking a three-kilometre hike, leading you to Caledonia Falls, one of Cyprus's tallest and most beautiful waterfalls, before heading to the village of Platres for a tasty, traditional lunch. Andi, one of our expert local guides, says, "You'll love the hike as much as the destination – it's like stepping into a fairytale, with cute little bridges crisscrossing along the stream all the way to the waterfall." But first, you'll kick things off at Kolossi Fruit Garden. Think juicy fruit and zesty lemonade to get you prepped for the adventure ahead. As you wind through the forest, the bubbling Kryos Potamos stream keeps you company – it's the perfect backdrop for those Insta-gold pics, almost like the Greek Gods are keeping tabs on you. You'll delve deeper along the forest nature tail, among old pines and strawberry trees, until reaching the showstopper – Caldonia Falls. Here, you can dip your toes in the shaded freshwater pool, snap some pics, and soak up the magic. The falls were named by a Scottish expedition in 1878, who were so wowed by how much it reminded them of home, they named it after Caledonia, the Roman name for Scotland. Afterwards, you'll head to Psilo Dendro, in Platres, for a well-deserved lunch. With its own trout farm, the fish here is as fresh as it gets – the perfect way to wrap up your mountain adventure.

Ein wunderschöner Ausflug mit großartigem Essen. Wir verstehen nicht, warum die TUI-Mitarbeiterin im Hotel diesen Ausflug nicht angepriesen hat und auf unsere Nachfrage eher noch abgeraten hat davon.

Der Ausflug enthält zwangsläufig lange Reisezeiten. Diese überbrückte die Reisebegleiterin mit reichlich Informationen in englisch, nichts also für weniger gut englisch verstehende Gäste.

Wij zijn ruim 7uur onderweg geweest, 3 stops voor we uiteindelijk bij de hike waren. We begonnen pas met de hike om half 1, nadat we om 8uur opgehaald waren bij het hotel. Helaas iemand in de groep die na 15 minuten al niet meer verder kon, maar wel moest meelopen tot de waterval, want daar kon diegene pas afhaken. Schijnbaar voor deze persoon niet duidelijk dat het niet is voor mensen met lichamelijke klachten Lunch kwam pas om half 4, en heb zelden zo slecht gegeten. Zonde van het geld!

Gids top! Olga wist enorm veel! Watervallen in deze tijd van het jaar een klein stroompje. Route van de wandeling mooi, maar je hebt weinig tijd om te kijken vanwege het opletten wat je moet doen. Niet geschikt voor niet fitte mensen. Eten ronduit slecht. Te veel stops met de bus, 3 op de heenreis. 1 was voldoende geweest. Prima bus en chauffeur.

Enthousiaste reisleidster, wist erg veel. Tussenstop bij fruitplantage was leuk. Busreis was erg lang Pad naar de waterval was voor een aantal deelnemers best wel moeilijk te belopen. De natuur was prachtig maar de waterval in deze tijd van het jaar (september) stroomt maar heel beperkt. Al met al een leuke trip ondanks de lange busreis

Der Wasserfall führt im Sommer kaum Wasser. Jede Klamm in Ö ist da beeindruckender. Die Wanderung ist toll, aber wir hatten das Gefühl, es wurde falsch beworben. Es klingt nach romantischem Spaziergang, ist aber eher eine Wanderung und der Weg fast ein (sehr leichter) Klettersteig. Wir sind an sowas gewöhnt, andere Teilnehmer*innen hatten aber Probleme. Die Zwischenhalte am Weg waren langweilig, vor allem das Café war unnötig. Im Endeffekt wurden wir durch die Wanderung gehetzt, Guide genervt.

Vattenfallet, promenaden och besöket i fruktträdgården var bra. Förslag åk en timme senare och skippa första stoppet på Sigma eller skriv i beskrivningen att ni gör 3 stopp till och vilken cirka tid lunchen serveras. Det var fantastiskt att se naturen.

Super gåtur gennem skoven ned af bjerget. Og hyggeligt at se en plantage. En alt for lang bus tur med unødvendig stop på vej hjem. Ved godt det ikke er nemt at ændre bustur, da vi var i den anden ende af øen

The food was good quality. There were too many stops on the way - I found it strange we had three when we expected one. The guide claimed the driver could only drive for an hour without a break. I think she may have been on some kind of commission for the pointless stops

Die Tour war als Wandertour angeboten. Ich finde es sollte vorab kommuniziert werden, dass man u.a. einen Orangen-Agrarbetrieb besichtigt. Die Besichtigung war interessant keine Frage - aber sowas müsste man bei einer Wandertour vorher kommunizieren

Det er lidt mange penge for en tur i naturen hvor 90% af tiden bliver brugt med at kigge på jorden for at være sikker på at man ikke snubler/falder over en gren eller sten. Der var meget fart på guiden og det gjorde at man virkelig løb igennem skoven og ikke kunne nyde udsigten. Maden var ikke pengene værd. Stod at man kunne tage en dykkert i de naturlige bassiner og det kunne man IKKE! Så det man havde glædet sig til i 4-5 timer, blev ikke til noget!

Mooie hike, gelukkig van boven naar beneden. Prachtige natuur en onze gids Olga wist ons een hoop te vertellen over Cyprus. Helaas konden 2 van de groep niet mee met de afdaling omdat er niet echt duidelijk beschreven staat dat je wel in enigszins goede fysieke conditie moest zijn.lunch was heerlijk

Ausflug war zu lang. Zu lange und zu viele Kafeepausen.Man hat über die Hälfte der Zeit nur im Bus gesessen. Der Spaziergang im Wald war gut, allerdings sollte man mehr Infos über diesen Kletterweg erhalten, da dieser Pfad sehr herausfordernd ist. Dafür dass man fast nur im Bus gesessen hat, war die Fahrt zu teuer.Leider konnte die Reiseleitung nur englisch, habe selber kaum was verstanden. .

This is a great trip and would recommend. Plenty of stops on way to waterfall. The trek is challenging but very rewarding. The only thing is we took towels and swimwear as expected to have a swim but this is not possible, all you can do is paddle. Very good trip, guide was very knowledgable and pleasant.

Bussissa joutuu istumaan todella pitkään päivän aikana n.6-7h yhteensä. Opas kyllä puhuu ja kertoo historiaa lähes puolet ajasta. Bussi on ilmastoitu. Ja pysähdyksiä kyllä tehdään. Päivän aikana näkee monta kaupunkia ja Kyprosta. Vaellus on ok, maisemat hienot, mutta ei sovellu huonokuntoisille ihmisille. Vesiputous on pettymys ainakin kun ei ole satanut pitkään aikaan. Putous on hyvin pieni ja niukka. Joten pelkän putouksen takia retkelle ei kannata lähteä. Ruoka oli hyvää ja vaihtoehtoja oli.

The walk is extremely demanding and in places dangerous with a fall highly likely. I enjoyed the trip I am 64 and managed it well. I don’t think your reps have been on this trip as a lot of people will struggle with it. There will be someone badly hurt at some point

Beskrivningen är missvisande, såväl på webben/i appen som i det bekräftelsemail man får. Vandringen är mer krävande än man får intryck av. I praktiken går man nedför dåliga trappor (stenar, stockar o dyl) i tre kilometer. Jag förstod inte heller det av guidens beskrivning, eftersom hennes engelska inte alltid var lätt att förstå. Hon sade att det var "3 kilometers walk, 500 meters down". Jag tolkade det som att det var nedförsbacke totalt 500 m av 3 km, inte att det var 500 m höjdskillnad.

A great trip, broken up nicely during the morning stopping at the bakery, citrus garden and plantres resturant before the hike. Really enjoyed the hike and waterfall. The lunch at the taverna afterc the hike was also good. Overall thought good value for money.

Feel the experience was overall enjoyable for the vast majority however guide could've organised people a little better at the start of the hike as in the early stage an elderly couple got left way behind the whole group It may be an idea to organise at the start for a couple of fitter walkers to stay to the rear to help out with stragglers and maybe organise where to stop for breaks to allow others to catch up and rest

You definitely have to have some form of fitness to undergo this excursion, it is self explanatory in the guidance, it's a shame people don't read this! I loved the guide's experience and knowledge, she was very patient with the different levels of speed that people could do. The trip was from the top of the trail going down the mountains over rocks and roots. The food was amazing, the scenery beautiful. Check your fitness ability before booking!

Vi hade fått information om att det var en krävande vandring. Det hade inte alla nationaliteter fått, så en fick hämtas av räddningstjänst. Det stod även i beskrivningen att turen skulle vara 8 timmar, vi var hemma efter 13 h. Även utan vår incident såhade turen tagit minst 11 h. Lunchen som ingick var planerad att serveras vid 15.15, väldigt sent då upphämtning var 07,45. På vår tur fick vi mat först 17.15! Skulle inte rekommendera denna tur till någon.

Good bits - nice scenery but only 1 waterfall really. Food was nice. Bad bits - the guide talked all the way on the bus which was boring. The coach was scruffy and the air con was not turned on much. We had 2 stops on the way as it is a long journey. The worst bit was there was someone who had turned up who was obviously struggling mobility wise and held the walk up considerably even having to be rescued by local police halfway round. This wasn't tui fault as it was advertised it was challenging

In vergelijking met de eerdere excursies was dit een dure excursie. Wel een mooie wandeling. Het eten op het einde van de wandeling was ondermaats. Naast de wandeling zijn de andere stops niet interessant.

we didn’t like the restaurant food and unfortunately the guide had to put up with, yet again, unfit people who spoilt the trip for your guide person and the rest of the group. If selling this product in the UK it should be made clear the terrain needs very sturdy shoes to support their ankles over the very rough terrain, including rocks and crossing the river.

Der Ausflug mit englischsprachigen Guide war interessant, aber nicht optimal organisiert. Die Abholung erfolgte mit 40 Minuten Verspätung. Nach dem Stau bei Larnaca hatten wir einen sehr lohnenswerten Stop in einem Früchtegarten mit Erfrischungsgetränken und frischen Früchten zum Probieren, im Ort Platnes konnte man heiße Schokolade probieren. Wanderung war extrem anspruchsvoll, da nur bergab, Weg mit Steinen und Wurzeln durchsetzt, teilweise über lose Steine durchs Bachbett, besser wäre bergauf

Der stod ujævn sti i beskrivelse: det er MEGET ujævn sti og man skal være virkelig godt gående og i god form til denne tur. Guiden går stærkt og stopper sjældent op. Der er smukt men dette ses ikke, da man hele tiden går med blikket vendt ned af for ikke at falde over rødder, sten og jernpæle, som stikker op af jorden. Det er ærgerligt, da turen er smuk og spændende! En kom til skade på turen, da man faldt over pæl i jorden.

I tur beskrivelsen stod der at det ville være muligt at bade og prøve padleboard på turen. Dette blev ikke tilbudt. Turguiden gik alt for hurtigt så man kunne ikke nå at nyde den flotte natur hvis man skulle følge med. Selv min søn på 21 og min datter på 19 syntes det gik for hurtig, Virkelig flot tur, men en skam man ikke kunne nå at nyde den.

Trevlig utflykt men den tog alldeles för lång tid! Vi blev upphämtade kl 7.45 o klev av bussen kl 19.00. Det framgick inte att turen skulle vara nästan 12 timmar!! Tråkigt att vandringen var i grupp, det hade varit trevligt att få promenera i egen takt istället för att hela tiden stanna upp o vänta in de som inte var förberedda på att turen gick på svår stig.

Vi hade önskat mer av själva vandringen då det var syftet för vi bokat turen. Det var alldeles för många deltagare för en guide vilket gjorde att vi gick på sakta led samt fick hela tiden stoppa för att vänta in deltagare som hade det svårare med vandringen. Vi hade helst gått turen själva. Tips dela upp gruppen i de som vill gå själva och en grupp som vill ha hjälp av en guide.

La balade dans la forêt est vraiment agréable, la nature est magique.Les chutes ne sont pas exceptionnelles, il ne faut pas s'attendre à une chute hors norme. La visite de la chocolaterie correspond à entrer dans un magasin. Le restaurant à midi a le monopole du site. Il y fait ********** sale et le service (diversité boissons/café) ne sont pas inclus. Dommage de ne pas organiser un repas dans le village de Plastres. Le prix est hors norme surtout que le trail est un circuit gratuit.

We found that this experience should have been advertised a little bit better as we have no health issues, we found this trail very difficult in places. The experience is not for the faint hearted so I suggest that this is emphasized in the app. I would also like to see an extra guide maybe 1 in front of the group and 1 behind, as the guide underestimated the speed of people. Saying that the experience was enjoyable.
