What to expect
The walking tour begins at Christiansborg Palace, home to the Danish Parliament, Supreme Court and the Prime Minister's Office, where you'll be introduced to Denmark's political and royal history.From here, the route continues through the city centre, passing streets, historic buildings and quieter corners that reveal a different side of Copenhagen. You'll reach the Black Diamond, the modern extension of the Royal Danish Library, where the city meets the harbour.The activity includes a ride on Copenhagen's electric harbour ferry, a local mode of transport that offers a new perspective from the water. Along the way, you'll see the Opera House, Nyhavn and a mix of modern and historic architecture. If the ferry isn't available, the route will continue with a scenic walk along the canal.Back on land, the itinerary leads to the Gefion Fountain, where you'll hear the Nordic legend behind the creation of Zealand. You'll then explore Kastellet, one of Europe's best-preserved star-shaped fortresses, and walk through Churchill Park to spot its historic windmill.The tour continues to the Marble Church, known for its large dome, before reaching Amalienborg Palace, residence of the Danish Royal Family. Here, you'll learn about royal traditions and, depending on the schedule, may see the Royal Guards.The experience ends in Nyhavn, recognised for its colourful buildings, ancient wooden ships and lively waterfront atmosphere.
