What to remember

Your voucher is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase

Infants (0 to 5 years old): free of charge

Red route: the first bus departs from Bus Stop 1 at 9:00, the last bus departs from Bus Stop 1 at 18:00. The duration of the tour is approximately 90 minutes. Buses run every 10-20 minutes

Green route: the first bus departs from Bus Stop 1 at 9:00, the last bus departs from Bus Stop 1 at 18:00. The duration of the tour is approximately 50 minutes. Buses run every 10-20 minutes

The river cruise tour is included until 17:00. If you wish to take the boat tour after 17:00, you will have to pay a small supplement on site. Guests are advised to arrive at the departure point at least 30 minutes before the departure time

River cruise tour times: 12:00, 13:00, 14:00, 15:00, 16:00, 16:30 and 17:00

Evening river cruise tour times: 18:00, 19:00, 20:00, 21:00 and 21:30. Tickets for the evening cruise can only be purchased at the departure pier and a valid hop-on hop-off ticket must be presented for purchase

It would have been useful if the cruise boat had copies of the bus route/map, so that we knew where to go. The headphones and quality wasn't fantastic. A good way to see the city and get about.

Initially we were not given a guide with the routes and stops by the guide on board. She said that she didn’t have any but later when we enquired about which stop we needed to get off which was closest to the ship she suddenly produced the guide to us. We then asked why she had said that she had no guides when we got on the driver made some joke saying that she did not speak English which was (his way of a joke).She was obviously too lazy to give them out. The guide needs to be more pro-active.

The Hop On Hop Off Buses were really handy for getting around Budapest. The buses were clean, a bit cramped legroom wise and the staff spoke English. They didn't seem the happiest and would stop the route and instruct passengers to change buses because the driver was having a break.

The commentary onboard was not in sync with where we actually was, parts of the commentary started half way through a section, (on more than one bus - as we were changed from one bus to another due to breaks on 2 occasions) the onboard guide was giving out where the next stops were over a microphone and not through the headphones (like on all the other hop on hop off buses in other countries we've been on)

tour was ok went round all the touristy bits .would have liked them to tell you the number of the stops as referred to on the map ,would have been helpful . also no reference to the shoes monument on the bank of the river danube ,which is a very poignant tribute !

The bus went around the city far too fast, actually allowed passengers to stand making the bus full to standing room only at certain destinations. The announcer was incoherent and we didn’t know where we were stopping - had to guess where we stopped using map !!. I would not recommend this service not worth the money.

The buses were very crowded, the information about stops often interrupted the commentary on the area being visited. The end bus times were not accurate, the information stated the green line ran until 6pm, however the last bus left stop 1 at 5pm.

Enjoyed the ride around. Commentary kept cutting out. Don't go on bus early in the morning. Far too many people, have to stand inside a very hot uncomfortable bus. Can't see anything. We did & got off after 1st stop. Walked around independently, then used bus later in the afternoon.

Excellent

A huge benefit is that the 48-hour pass included the walking tour in the morning in Pest and the one in the afternoon in Buda... it would almost be impossible to do both on a 24-hour pass because of the timing (the morning one over-ran and we ended up having to abandon the tour at the "shoes" because of our cruise timing). The other bonus is the 1-hour river cruise in the evening: excellent views. A worthwhile excursion for a first time visit.

Not your fault but the first bus that came along was too full. We waited for the next then it became out of service at one stop and we had to embark on to another bus. Hard to get seats.

Nell'autobus non funzionava il microfono quindi la guida era costretta a salire e comunicare a voce le varie fermate e non parlando italiano c'è stato qualche problema di comprensione. Il giro rispetto ad altre città è stato molto "lento" in quanto la città è piena di semafori. Non lo ricomprerei

Il servizio a Budapest è valido, capillare, con ottima frequenza e fermate ben posizionate.. però se compro un biglietto che millanta una validità di 72 ore e inizio a usarlo alle 11 del 29 mi aspetto che scada alle 11 del 1 e non che alle 12 del 31 mi si dica che il biglietto è spirato....

Great

They have a nice app where you can see where the bus is and when the next will come to the nearest stop. Good method of transportation if you dont want to take metro/tram but during the winter they of course cover the upper deck with a plastic roof and the windows are almost impossible to see through so you miss a lot. If you are lucky you will get a bus with a glass roof so that you can see the surroundings. I 100% recommend going on this during the summer though when it is nice weather.
