What to expect
Trace Berlin’s 20th‑century history on a guided bike tour that explores the city’s Nazi and Cold War past. The experience begins in the centrally located Nikolaiviertel, just a short walk from the TV Tower, where you’ll collect your rental bike before setting off.Over a 15‑kilometre route, you’ll cycle through streets and pathways connected to key moments of a divided city. Along the way, your guide shares historical context and lesser‑known stories linked to places such as the Berlin Wall Memorial on Bernauer Straße, surviving East German watchtowers, and the areas once planned for Germania, the monumental capital envisioned by the Nazi regime but never realised. The route follows sections of the former Berlin Wall and passes through quieter backstreets and green stretches, offering a different perspective on the city. You’ll also learn why Hitler’s former bunker, known as the Führerbunker, is no longer accessible, and where underground bunkers and so‑called ghost stations once formed part of Berlin’s divided infrastructure. This tour combines cycling with historical insight, offering a structured way to understand how Berlin’s past continues to shape the city today.
