What to expect
The Alte Nationalgalerie (Old National Gallery) is one of the most important museums in Germany and is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Museumsisland Berlin. Housed in an impressive 19th-century building, the museum showcases outstanding works of art from the 19th century. A visit to this exceptional venue is a highlight of any stay in Berlin.Its collections range from Classicism to Romanticism, Biedermeier, French Impressionism, and early Modernism. You can find splendid works from artists like Karl Friedrich Schinkel, Claude Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, or Max Liebermann. Among the most important works are Adolf von Menzel's Eisenwalzwerk and Caspar David Friedrich's Der Mönch am Meer. The museum is situated on Berlin’s famous Museum Island.

Das Museum und die Sonderaustellung war sehr gut.
Leider gab es bei uns im Vorfeld einen Unfall drch die hohen Stufen unter den Arkaden. Das Museumspersonal war jedoch sehr hilfreich und verarztete die Verletzung, so dass wir die Ausstellung ansehen konnten. Vielen Dank dafür.
