What to expect
This wild buggy ride through the Dominican countryside makes for a morning of adrenaline-pumping adventure. As well as rumbling through rustic villages, you'll visit an organic farm and cool off with a swim in a cenote. There's no better way to put a bit of oomph into your holidays.After pick-up, we'll head to a ranch for a safety briefing and the lowdown on Terracross buggies. Don your helmet, put on your belt and give it some welly. You'll zoom across the backwoods to the co-op farm. Your guide will tell you about and let you try traditional Dominican products such as coconut oil, chocolate tea, tobacco, rum, cocoa and, of course, the world-famous coffee.Buggy driving can be a messy business, so you'll round up with a chance to freshen up with a swim in a cenote – a natural spring of crystal clear water.

Showed up 45 minutes late for pickup. Organization was pathetic at best. Guy we booked thru skimmed 10% off top. Made us pay 10% in cash, the put it in his wallet in front of us. Not worth value at all. Would not recommend at all.

It was one big ploy for upselling. Most of the actual tour we wasn’t even on the buggies. Got there practically forced into buying the photos before they’ve even been taken! 180 dollars for 2 of us. Then because we didn’t want them, she said 70 dollars for both. We still declined. Shoved a basket in our hands to buy stuff from their shop. Then taken after to try hot chocolate?? Then taken through a shop to buy it ? The whole thing is just one massive upsell tour. Wouldn’t do again :(

Great trip, we brought scarves with us but bought the goggles and it was well worth it. Had about 45 mins driving then the cave swim (which was fab!) & touristy bit, felt no pressure to buy at all. Then about 15 mins drive back. Nice staff, we did buy the photo package too but I wouldn't bother again. Would recommend the experience though

The buggy tour itself was great, we didn’t receive any safety briefing beforehand though. Upon arrival we were ushered into a souvenir shop and my partner and I were separated so he could be strong armed into buying overpriced cigars (didn’t work). After the first part of the buggy tour a monkey was literally placed on my head, then $40 demanded for the privilege. We were told to bring swimwear but there was nowhere to change into it. Pick up and drop off was timely.

Unfriendly staff. Pushed to sell stuff from the moment the bus dropped us off. Too rushed. No review of safety for belts and helmets. Ride was too crowded and boring. Show was too rushed. Coffee presentation was a sales pitch while we were hoping to learn stuff. Overall way too sales oriented and lame.

Considering I paid to do the quads more time was spent in trying to sell products and photographs which were very expensive. I did enjoy the quads but not long enough spent on them. Also when it came to me being transferred back to my hotel, 2 drivers and the rep were arguing about who was taking me back, eventually I got on a mini bus to be taken 10 mins away to be told to get off because this wasn't the bus to take me to the hotel I felt very unsafe as I was on my own. Very disappointed

We enjoyed our trip-we didn’t enjoy the heavy-armed sales/selling in shop, and would have appreciated a better description of the ride and what to wear. 2 pairs of socks, 2shirts, a pair of shorts and a pair of sneakers were all ruined due to the mud!

The trip is expensive for what you get. The traditional tasting is hot chocolate, tea and coffee so don’t expect anything amazing from that. The buggies were good but there didn’t seem to be any “adventure” to them, you drive through a few small areas with water and that’s all. They’re also very pushy to buy things and have people waiting at the top of the cave forcing animals onto you and charged us $140 after putting parrots and a lizard on us which I repeatedly said no to. Would not recommend

The trip was great fun and very good value. The staff were helpful but few of them spoke English. The downside was the safety aspect. You had to buy goggles at 20 dollars each. There was lots of sand and grit kicked up from the buggies so these were necessary but highly unsatisfactory to pay 40 dollars per buggy on top of the cost of the trip.

Everything was great aside from 2 guys taking our photo on our personal phone and charging us over $300 for 20 pictures. Also the $70 photo package we were sold prior to leaving for the tour was not easy to retrieve afterwards. They gave us the wrong photos and we almost missed our bus back to the resort. Otherwise the guides were awesome and the experience itself was great

Great experience with long buggy drive and lovely swim in the underground cave. Communication was limited with staff not being able to speak English. There were no opportunities to get drinks and everything was very quick with no explanations as to what was happening. Overall a great half day but could be improved with the little things of drinks and guides who speak the same language.

upon arrival was greeted with the red carpet treatment and a round of an applause which was lovely, the dance based on the tainos was something special to see. In the boogies it was very fun to drive and the leader constantly kept on eye on the pack. I can not swim but getting in the water inside the cave was an experience I could not turn down. My only annoyance is the prices of the professional photos. I think giving the option to purchase one at $10 would encourage people to spend more here

I thought the driving course would be longer. A previous participant said theirs was nice and long. Ours was under an hour. Not only that, we did not pay for all activities and were supposed to be picked up earlier that others. We got picked up with every one else. We waited for 2 hours doing nothing. We had reservations at 6 pm and had to cancel them because we got back at minutes to 5 pm and we were told we'd be back by 2-3 pm. Also, you have to be more accommodating to English speak guests.

It was very organised from start to finish, we felt safe and secure throughout the whole experience. The guides were in abundance to ensure everything ran smoothly. My sin absolutely loved it, we were filthy at the end but it was worth it. I think there would be a benefit to giving timescales to customers on arrival as we thought the initial buggy ride was it and we're disappointed at that time as we didn't know there would be an extra hour of fun after visiting the cave, which was incredible..

At the beginning of the ‘excursion’ you are made to wait in a shop where they want you to buy souvenirs and a few pushy employees tried to make you buy things. When out on the ‘excursion’ we were in a big group which kept stoping. There was no chance to go fast as we were in a long line with all the buggies. You were constantly stoped along a road with local people asking for money. The ‘cenote’ was not a cenote, it was a cave with water in it. Overall I would not recommend this excursion.

We enjoyed swimming in the cave. Other than that the communication was awful there was no direction as to which way to drive on the biggie route. We was literally forced in to shops And along the drive which is nothing like the pictures it what’s advertised we drove past little houses where people was running up to the buggies then the guide stopped and this gave them chance to ask us for money. We was expecting some mud or to drive they puddles nothing of the sort wouldn’t recommend

What an excellent morning adventure, felt very safe as lots of staff with us throughout the experience. We was in a family group with a 11yr old.We had the photograph package which cost $150 but wow what excellent photos, really professional looking,didn't get his name though which I'm sorry about. The mini show was worth watching, we was only with the tasting for 15 mins not much information about all the product, the cave pool was really refreshing after all the dust!! fab day ??

Very well organised trip. The buggy ride was for a good amount of time, the swimming was good but only about 25 minutes is given for the swimming it would be nice if this was a bit longer. The coffee and chocolate tasting was also nice and we did not feel forced to buy anything which is often the case on other trips. The ride back is very wet and you will get covered in wet clay. All in this was a good trip and worth the money.

The rep at hotel, Kenny and the transport driver were great. The camera ppl and vendors were fairly aggressive. 1st stop we were told to take bags with us to the Taino show but ok to leave goggles/scarf at buggy. When we went back, our gear was stolen!! The buggy was swapped(seatbelts changed) and someone else’s helmets and hairnet in cart. Guides were no help and just yelled to get in the buggy and go. No trail riding just dirt roads and circling around to kill time. Not impressed at all.

The whole experience was amazing. From start to finish myself and my husband were smiling and lighting. It rained as we were on our way, so we got absolutely ditched. Really enjoyed it and I would recommend it to anyone travelling to punta Cana The only down side to the whole experience was all the begging children on the way back to the boogie place. They would grab onto your boogies and run along side trying to get money.

At no point did we go full speed the people in front of us were so slow. Every time we tried to fly thru the mud the people in front slammed on breaks. Also the cave woulda been better if it was longer felt like it was only 10 minutes. And $70 for pictures after is CRAZY. Would have been willing to pay 30-50 depending how they turned out. Felt like we wasted half a day just to ride buggies for maybe a hour

I feel like there was too much stop and go it felt like I was just in a traffic jam. My buggie had a very high steering wheel and it was difficult for me to see and the seat was waaaaaay to close to the pedals for me I had a hard time controlling the car properly. Overall I had a good time

Very fun experience, the boogies are great once you get used to them. It is very very dusty and you get very muddy going through the puddles. We did not buy the goggles and bandana as the goggles were $20 each and bandana was $5 each we were fine with sunglasses but still very dusty not great for your eyes so come prepared so you don’t have to pay. Another buggy crashed into the back of us which hurt. Whole day was great though, get around 25/30 mins in the cave and you having a tasting class.

This excursion was amazing. The staff were all really kind and not pushy. They kept us all on the right path and safe. They did everything they could do to make this a great experience. I brought candy along because I knew there would be local children that would be on the path. They loved it! I can’t say enough on how beautiful the cenote was. That topped everything! Overall this was the best excursion while in the Dominican.

You get plenty of time on the buggies, the cave swim was fantastic and it was only one group in there at a time which meant it felt spacious. The whole trip felt safe and well organised. The photos were expensive but good quality.
