Madeira's magnificent scenery takes centre stage on this full day tour. You'll visit a selection of highlights including Cabo Girao Cliff and it's glass-floored platform, Porto Moniz and Paúl da Serra. Mariana, one of our expert local guides, says "you'll get to know the true drama of Madeira's landscapes. You might be lucky enough to see the ocean both to the north and the south, but the highest points on the island do sometimes catch the clouds."Your first destination will be the Cabao Girao Cliff, where you can step out onto its glass-floored platform that stretches out over the edge. The coastal views here are some of the best around, so don't forget your camera. Mariana adds, "the cliff is around 580 metres high, making it one of the tallest in Europe. The views from the skywalk are really something else, and its experience that'll stick with you." Then, you'll head to the coastal town of Riberia Brava, before a stroll through a banana plantation in Madalena do Mar.Next, we'll head up the 1,500m-high Paúl da Serra plateau before descending on Porto Moniz, famous for its natural lava rock swimming pools. A typical lunch freshly prepared with local produce awaits in the village. Rounding off the day is a poncha drink demonstration and tasting in Câmara de Lobos – a favourite holiday spot of Winston Churchill. Mariana says "be careful – poncha is so fruity and refreshing, but it hides a serious brandy kick." What is the itinerary for this experience? The itinerary for this experience is...- 8:35am to 9:15am – pick‑up at hotels in Caniço and Funchal- 9:30am – stop and visit Cabo Girão viewpoint for around 30 minutes- 10:20am – visit Ribeira Brava village for around 40 minutes- 11:10am – stop at Madalena do Mar to walk through a banana farm estate- 11:35am – depart in the direction of Paul da Serra plateau with a photo stop (weather permitting)- 12:40pm – arrive at Porto Moniz for lunch at a local restaurant- 2:40pm – head to Câmara de Lobos village- 3:20pm – arrive at Câmara de Lobos village and stop at a local bar- 4:00pm – return to Funchal- 4:30pm to 5:30pm – drop-off at hotelsPlease note, the times and schedule may vary on the day and depending on weather conditions, the excursion may be done in reverse order, the guide will decide on the day of the tour.

Wunderschöne Aussichten. Allerdings längere Transfer- / Fahrzeiten als Zeit sich die jeweiligen Sightseeing Angebote anzusehen. Eher ein "durchrennen". Restaurant Traumlage allerdings Essen schlecht, etwas kalt und Versuch Fotos zu verkaufen.

This day was exceptionally well planned & done with the guide Linda nurturing & educating us throughout the day. It was a packed day with thought for us all. We covered a great deal in one day. Madeira always lives up to its beauty but I can’t recommend our guide & driver enough. Well paced with regular interesting breaks. To impart her knowledge in several languages is impressive - certainly an asset to TUI. Really both my husband & I enjoyed the day. 5 stars.

Leuk programma als je wat van het eiland wilt zien. Goede gids (Geert). Gaf onderweg in de bus ook veel info over eiland met de nodige humor. Afwisselende dag. Enige aanvulling: bij bezoek bananenplantage waar verteld wordt dat de bananen zoveel lekkerder zijn, ook een banaantje ( of stukje) laten proeven. Maar dat is het enige..

Belle balade. Avec guide qui connait son pays et la langue Française. Je n'ai pas apprécié le resto du midi qui ne correspond pas à 1 restauration typiquement Portugaise. C'est un Rdv de tour opérateur. Par contre vue très belle sur l'océan.

Podobałobalo nam się jak pani przewodnik prowadziła wycieczkę. Przekazała dużo ciekawych informacji. Jazda upływała szybko i przyjemnie dzięki pani przewodnik i jej opowieściom. Wycieczka była przeprowadzana sprawnie. Logistyka bez zarzutu. W autokarze mogłoby być więcej miejsca na nogi ( trochę ciasno między siedzeniami) Kierowca kulturalny, o wysokich umiejętnościach kierowania pojazdem. Czuliśmy się bezpiecznie na drodze.

Unser Fahrer Louis bekommt 10 von 10 Punkten. Er hat uns viel erzählt und sehr sicher gefahren. Das Mittagessen war ebenfalls hervorragend, der Besuch im Lorbeerwald aufgrund des Nebels abenteuerlich... Der Besuch im Honigmuseum war jetzt kein Highlight, und ich hätte mir generell mehr offroad gewünscht. Aber generell eine wirklich tolle Erfahrung und empfehlenswert.

Die Erlebnisse und Eindrücke waren sehr schön und sehr gut. Die verschiedenen Ausflugsziele der Tour waren gut ausgesucht. Der Busfahrer hat einen sehr guten Job gemacht. Die Reiseleitung war ausgezeichnet. Das Lunch würde ich mit befriedigend bewerten. Touristische Massenabfertigung. Die überfallartige Ablichtung für ein Foto am Tisch im Lokal Cachalote finde ich völlig daneben, da man mehr oder weniger dazu genötigt wird ein überteuertes Foto abzunehmen.

Einen großen Teil der Zeit verbrachten wir mit der Busfahrt. Das Essen war nicht besonders gut. Bei der Bananenplantage sind wir einfach nur durchgelaufen. Lediglich diejenigen, die bei der Reiseleiterin standen hörten die Erklärungen.

Wir hatten leider schlechtes Wetter mit Schnee in den Bergen und konnten die Tour nicht wie geplant durchführen. Es wurde ein alternatives Angebot gemacht. Ansonsten alles zufrieden stellend, viel gesehen.

Przewodniczka Renata na 10 pkt. Obszerna wiedza i cierpliwość dla turystów, kierowca 10 pkt. bardzo dobry i uprzejmy. Las Fanal trochę nas rozczarował. Wycieczka dobrze zaplanowana. W Porto Moniz mogłoby być więcej wolnego, ciekawiej niż w Camara de Lobusz. Ogółem bardzo fajnie

Bei einem Spziergang wurde die Gruppe sehr in die Länge gezogen. Die Mitarbeiterin hat bereits mit den Erklärungen begonnen bevor die letzten überhaupt etwas verstehen konnten. Im Restaurant Cachalote wurden wir von einer Fotografin plus Mitarbeiterin "überfallen" und es wurde einfach gegen unseren deutlich zum Ausdruck gebrachten Willen Fotos von uns gemacht. Unsere Einwände gegen das Fotografieren wurden einfach ignoriert. Die Fotos wurden uns anschließend sogar noch angeboten.

Ich möchte Ihnen gern schildern, wie wir die West‑Tour erlebt haben. Leider gab es mehrere Punkte, die für uns nicht zufriedenstellend waren. Wir hatten die West‑Tour als deutschsprachige Führung gebucht. Vor Ort wurde jedoch überwiegend auf Englisch geführt, ohne vorherige Information. Dadurch konnten wir nicht allem folgen. Wäre dies 2–3 Tage vorher kommuniziert worden, hätten wir eine Alternative wählen können. Wir wünschen uns künftig eine frühzeitige Mitteilung solcher Änderungen.

A very good day with a very knowledgeable guide. How could this be improved for me - skip the rushed banana plantation walk through & then add on stopping somewhere where you could have a photo stop for at least one of the wonderful waterfalls that the coach went wizzing past at 50mph. From the very quick view we got they all looked amazing with very long drops. I think there were 5 or 6 of them & there must be 1 that can be photographed. Just my thoughts.

The Driver was very polite and helpful, a very smooth driver. The rep (unfortunately I can't remember her name) was excellent and gave a running commentary on everything from History to landscape and local plants and horticulture. Great Job. Wij kregen de Nederlandstalige uitstap, wat vooraf niet voorzien was. De gids Geert gaf steeds een heel grondige uitleg over de bezienswaardigheden met een vleugje humor. Het dagprogramma verliep vlekkeloos. Zeker een aanrader!

Gefallen die Betreuung durch den Guide Monica Nicht gefallen: bei der Abholung ist der Bus am Hotel an uns vorbeigefahren. Nur dadurch das Monica nach uns gesucht hatte, sind wir mitgekommen. Es wurde vorher nicht klar kommuniziert wo wir genau stehen müssen. Es stand am Hotel in der Beschreibung, das war wohl nix. Hoffe heute bei der nächsten Tour klappt es.

Schöne Ausblicke, Wasserfälle nur kurz zu sehen aus dem Bus, kein Halt auf der Hochebene. Die Reiseleiterin hat sehr viel englisch gesprochen und vieles nicht übersetzt. Schönes Restaurant mit leckerem Essen. Die Lavapools sind sehr schön!

A great informative tour with an excellent guide. We especially enjoyed hearing about the banana plantation and walking on the glass platform above the cliff. Lunch was lovely, the scenery beautiful and the commentary from the guide gave us great insights into the island.

Op tijd starten van de tocht, gekoppelde info delen en het eten krijgt een voldoende. De gids in de bus deed zijn best om ons te vermaken en legde veel uit over de ontwikkelingen met Madeira.
