If there's one must-visit while you're in Kos, it's the volcanic island of Nisyros. Greek legend says it was created from a stone thrown by the god Poseidon. And it's a scenic gem of an hour-long trip that takes you there. Visit Mandraki, Nikia, the Stefanos crater and more.Once you've docked in the harbour of Mandraki, the island's capital, you'll head to the old village of Nikia on the edge of the Stefanos crater. Lose yourself in the labyrinth of cobbled stoned lanes or find a spot near the crater's edge, where you can feel the heat.Afterwards, head back to Mandraki. Sugar-cubed houses stretch across this amphitheatre-shaped town, which is in the shadow of a medieval castle and the cliff-side monastery of Panagia Spiliani.

Das Programm war insgesamt gut. Die Reiseleiterin war sehr kompetent und hat ihren Job gut gemacht. Der Aufenthalt in Mandraki war zu lang bzw. die Rückfahrt nach der Zeitumstellung zu spät angesetzt.

Overall, the day was interesting and a fun experience. Our tour guide was fantastic (Manolis) - without him we would have given a lower score overall. This was our first trip, it was confusing when were dropped off in Kardamena - unclear where we were supposed to go, how the headsets worked etc. (this was much better handled on the exclusive Kos trip). The time in Nisyros was good, but felt a bit long compared to the rest of the trip. Overall enjoyed it, but wouldn't rush to book again.

Really enjoyed the opportunity to visit the island ny boat. It was a great experience. There was a nice atmosphere. The guide kept us entertained but not really sure there was enough to actually experience on the trip, but I think you maximised what was available.

Tolle Tour von Tui. 20 Minuten Anfshrt bis zum Hafen, tolle Überfahrt zur Vulkaninsel. Zeit den Ort auf eigene Fsust zu erkunden, bis es dann per Bus zum Vulkan geht. Danach noch ein Besuch in einem atemberaubenden Bergdorf. Die Stopps waren von der Aufenthaltsdauer perfekt. Es hat alles gepasst. Tour dauerte ca. 9-10 Stunden mit Transfer.

Toller Tagesausflug! Gut organisiert. Genügend Zeit für eigene Erkundungen. Schön wäre es, wenn TUI vielleicht für den Umgang mit den Katzen etwas tun könnte. Tierärzte, Kastrationsprogramme etc. Das Elend konnte ich schwer mit ansehen.

Der Ausflug war Interessant. Wir haben viel erfahren über das Leben und die Menschen in Griechenland. Was nicht so toll war, ist das wir den Eintritt zum Volcan noch zusätzlich bezahlen mussten.

Der Ausflug insgesamt dauerte 9 Stunden, dabei hatten schon die kürzeste Transferzeit aller. Der Aufenthalt in Mandraki war zu lange, insgesamt kann der Ausflug kürzer ausfallen, was aber leider mit den Fährzeiten zusammenhängt. Aus unserer Sicht hätten wir früher beginnen sollen, doch dann kann die Fähre nicht ihren vorherigen Fahrplan einhalten. Daher ist auch die Rückkehr leider relativ spät. Wir haben noch gerade so vernünftig etwas im Hotel essen können.

Absolutely brilliant trip Manolas the tour guide was extremely passionate and knowledgeable about every aspect of the island, he was a great character and very funny he made the trip so very interesting.. we loved every aspect of it. I cannot think of a negative comment to make. Thank you the organisation was seamless .. well done ??

The overall experience was excellent and once our guide joined us he was really knowledgeable and funny. Unfortunately the guide was not there to meet us and instead on the Island so only saw him when we got there, whilst all other guides were met off the bus before the boat trip. We also had to be on the boat 45mins before we were due to set sail, so could have spent some time having a look through the location we were at before setting sail, a missed opportunity. Was lovely walking through the picturesque streets of Nissyros. Just a pity it was a Tuesday as a few of the things we’d have visited were closed. Would have been good to know in advance as part of the booking, the travel and travel times involved. Guide we had was excellent and a credit (Manolis). Very knowledgeable and informative, as well as adding humour to the day. All in all a good day.

Der Audioguide wurde auch im Bus benutzt. Für Kunden mit Hörgerät nicht gerade ideal. Die Reise müsste 2 Stunden nach vorne verschoben werden Eine Rückkehr ins Hotel um 20.30 Uhr ist fast zu spät.

Guide was excellent, overall ease of trip was excellent and the island was fantastic. The only downside was that the boat to the island was overly busy, with many people unable to have a seat for the 1 hour trip. Otherwise the trip was very good, more than enough seats on the bus, island villages were lovely with lots of restaurants. The guide was particularly good, a real highlight of the trip and really helped the day be so good

Der Ausflug, welchen wir am 03.10.2025 gemacht haben, war toll und es hat alles einwandfrei geklappt. Vom Transfer vom Hotel über die Übergabe an den überaus kompetenten, freundlichen und umsichtigen Guide Michalis bis zum Bootstransfer und den beiden Bus-Transfers. Michalis hat jederzeit in gutem Deutsch und seiner Ortskenntnis überzeugt. Die teilweise negativen Rezensionen können wir auf keinen Fall bestätigen, einzig beim Preis-Leistungsverhältnis können wir keine Bestnoten geben.

Wir wurden erst um 10.30 Uhr am Hotel abgeholt. Wäre die Tour früher los, hätte mann mehr Zeit auf dem Vulkan verbringen können. Ansonsten war es schonn ein besonderes Erlebnis.

Alles in allem war es ein sehr schöner Ausflug. Unser Guide Michalis hat das super gemacht, viel erzählt und uns viele Einblicke in die Insel, ihre Bewohner und deren Geschichte verschafft. Leider war die Zeit an den Stops teilweise etwas Knapp, es wäre vielleicht besser gewesen, wären wir früher zur Insel losgefahren. Alles in allem eine 9 von 10.

We had a lovely guide who had a great sense of humour. The amount of time at each location was just about right. It would have been nice to spend just a little longer in the last village, however I realise that the schedule has to fit in with the sailing and I wouldn’t want time in the other 2 stops to be shortened. The audio sets are a great idea but I did find it very fiddly - it kept coming off my ear-but maybe that’s just me! (and my husband!) I would do the tour again if I come back to Kos

Nous avons apprécié la visite de la ville de mandraki et le cratère Stefanos. En revanche pas assez de temps libre pour le village de nikia (à peine 45min sur place) La guide Andrea était très bien. Le prix de cette excursion reste quand même élevée, sachant qu'il faut rajouter les 5€ du cratère et le prix du repas le midi.

Diesen Ausflug als Bootstour zu bezeichnen ist eine Unverschämtheit. Wir wurden auf eine übervolle Fähre gepfercht, hatten kaum Platz zum Sitzen. Der Guide war gut. Die Zeit im Krater allerdings sehr knapp.

Deze activiteit doe je best privé. Heel veel in de bus de ganse dag, eerst om andere mensen op te halen in andere hotels en s'avonds om die terug af te zetten. Eens aangekomen in Kardamena, leuke boottocht en op het eiland terug in de bus om.het eiland te bezoeken. Is wel heel mooi en interessant. Je krijgt geen lunch, dit moet je nog apart betalen.

Die Reiseleitung und der Busfahrer waren gut. Die technische Ausstattung ( Funk mit Kopfhörer und Mikro im Bus) waren eine Katastrophe, schön, dass alles in deutsch erklärt wurde, aber man hat es nicht verstanden, da die Funkgeräte Störungen und im Bus man das Mikro nicht überall verstehen konnte. Schon gar nicht während der Fahrt. Dies muss verbessert werden. 2. Punkt, wenn man mit dem Schiff fährt, müssen Kotztüten ausgegeben werden, da sich einige übergeben haben. Crater visit is the highlight but only 35 minutes there. It’s a long day. Coach pick up at 10.10. Not on the boat to until midday. Got to capital at just after 1 and were there until 3.30 before heading to crater. Short stop in small village after. Back on the boat at 6.30 and not back to hotel until 8.45pm. So ALOT of time sat down. Guide in Nissryos was excellent. Guide on coach and boat not so. Communication poor, unclear and impolite after we (‘English’) were given wrong headsets.

Overall, it was a good trip. The island guide was funny and knowledgeable, and all the places we visited were beautiful with lots to see. However, there were some downsides. We were left to find the port and boat ourselves with little guidance from one of the tour guides. The food at the island restaurant was disappointing. At the hotel, because we were 10 minutes late to dinner, mainly due to the trip running longer than the advertised 8 hours, we were left with no dinner or snack.

Overall the trip was excellent. The guide was very informative and approachable. Knew the island and its history extremely well. Lovely day. I did wonder if the price was a little expensive but we would not have had the total island experience if booked locally as just a trip to the island. Hence I would recommend the trip and personally found it good value.

Nach der Bootsfahrt hatten wir einen Reiseleiter mit Vollbart. Name kenne ich nicht. Er wohnt aber auch auf der Insel. Wir machen 4-5 mal im Jahr Urlaub u d hatten viele viele Reisen gebucht. Aber so einen genialen und einfühlsamen Reiseführer hatten wir noch nie. Ein Juwel. Vesser geht nicht.

Der Guide war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Vermittelte sehr viel Interessantes über die Insel. Die Tour kann weiterempfohlen werden. .

Een bezoek aan het eiland Nissyros is zeker de moeite waard, zeker als je Willem als gids hebt. Buiten veel informatie over Nissyros en de vulkaan op dit eiland, vertelt hij ook allerlei informatie over Griekenland en zijn inwoners. Hierbij worden de Grieken best wel af en toe "op de korrel" genomen, zonder hun "ego" te schaden. We hebben een zeer leuke dag gehad, die het geld echt wel waard is.

Het is best wel goed gelopen maar heel laas moest we wel intree betalen bij de in gang van de vulkaan en daar hadden wij niet op voor berijden ik dag dat het al kompleet er bij zat

Met een autobus waar een rood lichtje brandt op het dashboard en een chauffeur die héél duidelijk de internationale politiek aan het bespreken is aan de telefoon gedurende de volledige terugweg, voel ik me niet zo veilig.

Der Anfang war extrem chaotisch. Es kamen sehr viele Busse in Kardamena an und es wurde im Vofeld nicht gesagt, dass wir uns jetzt in Grupen nach Sprachen einteilen. Die Namensliste musste zu oft erneut abgeglichen werden. Unsere Gruppe war viel zu groß, was etwas schwierig war. Die Tour war aber sehr schön und unser Guide Michaelis war sehr nett, kompetent und hat sich sehr gut um uns gekümmert.
