Cyprus is full of hidden treasures, and you'll discover some of its rural gems on this full day tour to the Troodos Mountains. You'll drive into the countryside, visiting Lampadistis Monastery in Kalopanayiotis, and enjoying a few pleasant surprises in rustic villages in between. Nefeli, one of our local guides, says, ‘Arsos is the sort of village where you see old men playing 'tavli' – backgammon – in coffee shops.'First up is Platanisteia – a small village famed for its printmaking museum. After finding out about the history of the island's print industry, we'll visit the medieval Tzelefos Bridge – it's a standout selfie spot deep in the middle of woodland. Then, it's on to the village of Kalopanayiotis. It's sprawled over a remote valley dissected by a picturesque stream. You'll drop into a traditional family-run taverna for a lunch made from locally sourced ingredients.The highlight of the day is the village's Monastery of St John Lampadistis. Nefeli says, ‘Its Byzantine frescoes are so exquisite that UNESCO has listed them as world heritage.' The murals, which date as far back as the 14th century, are highly refined and very well-preserved. Admission fees to the monastery, which are included, go to its upkeep. Apart from a trio of churches to amble around, there are monastic buildings, including cells, auxiliary rooms and an oil press. And before heading back to the resort, you'll be able to sample some local wines in a typical Troodos Mountains winery.

Sehr informativ; die Reiseleiterin hat viel über die Insel und ihre Geschichte erzählt. Das Essen war ausgezeichnet (jeder konnte sich am Buffet selbst ohne Zeitdruck bedienen) . Der Fahrer war sehr freundlich und man fühlte sich stets sicher und gut aufgehoben.

Sent to wrong pickup point. At least a 15 min delay before the Coach driver found us (fortunately). This made subsequent pickups late, which had some people grumbling on the trip. Not enough time at the Monastery. This was the centerpiece of the trip, yet we wanted to spend a bit more time looking around. Conversely, over an hour for lunch; too long !

The trip was interesting and the views magnificent. Our tour guide Nef shared historical information about out trip and the area with humour and we enjoyed learning about the places we visited. We enjoyed visibility Linos winery and trying the wine. Our favourites was the blue wine and the pistachio liquor and very reasonably priced. Our driver seemed to find every bumps humps and hole and take them at full speed making the journey uncomfortable! Unlike the driver of our previous tour.

Die Tour war sehr schön und informativ. Auch der Bus/ Fahrer hat uns sehr gut durch die teilweise sehr engen Straßen manövriert! Das einzige was uns nicht gefallen hat, war das Mittagessen! 1. wurde uns nicht gesagt, dass es kein All you ca eat Buffet ist! Wir sind Personen, die kleine Häppchen zum probieren nehmen und dann nochmal beim 2. Mal, was geschmeckt hat. Das war nicht möglich, da das Buffet direkt nachdem alle etwas genommen haben, abgedeckt wurde! Zudem war es mittelmäßi

Zeer goede gids en chauffeur!!! Klooster was niet zo groot; maar de uitleg was fantastisch! Ook het museum op de heenweg was een zeer positieve verrassing. We categorically asked the tui rep at the Louis ledra hotel if the trip involved lots of winding roads .it was the first thing we asked . I don’t like going on trips that involve coaches driving round and round winding roads so we wanted to make sure it wasn’t . We were told it wasn’t and it WAS very much like that so I was anxious and scared and unhappy most of the day. The guide was fantastic and the driver did drive carefully but if you ask a question , you expect an honest reply not a lie

Having been on a different trip to a castle and monastery with wine tasting, this trip was not as good. The previous trip had shops near the monastery to visit, look round and buy things. Also the wine tasting was more professional. Nice to see different parts but a lot of driving around.

Älterer Reiseführer war sicherlich sehr kenntnisreich, aber sein Vortrag wirkte runtergespult, oft nicht gut verständlich und vor allem völlig überfrachtet. Insgesamt etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig. Der eingesetzte Reisekleinbus entwickelte während der Fahrt im Gebirge plötzlich techn.Probleme, musste 2-3 mal anhalten, fuhr dann sehr langsam weiter, teilweise ohne Klimaanlage. Keinerlei Erklärung seitens der Reiseltg. Linos winery hat keine guten Weine - dies fiel auf ! Da gibt es beseres..

Die Fahrt war absolut interessant, es wurde viel Wissen vermittelt. Die Begleiterin war höchst kompetent und freundlich. Der Busfahrer war freundlich und ein großartiger Fahrer. Es wäre gut gewesen vorher zu wissen, dass die Fahrt extremst kurvenreich und nicht für Menschen geeignet ist, denen beim Bus fahren leichter übel wird. Das Mittagessen war in Buffetform (in einem Raststätten ähnlichen Betrieb), was sehr einfach und lecker war, jedoch wenig authentischen Flair vermittelte

We enjoyed every aspect but there was one transfer from one venue to another which was a little long.It was about an hour. I wanted to add one observation that is during out stay we noticed a lot of very large people and the vehicle would have been a little shall we say tight if that was the case. This is not a criticism merely an observation. Your guide Nick was entertaining and knowledgable and the driver George very competent. We had a good day.

We thought that the tour was poor value for money. Long periods of time were spent in a very cramped and uncomfortable mini bus. We appreciate that access roads in the Troodos Mountains limit the size of the vehicles using them but why not reduce the number of occupants in each mini bus. The church at Lampadistis Monastry was disappointing being largely unused and and in a rather sad state of preservation. On the plus side the guide and everyone who greeted us were very friendly and helpful.

Loved thos tour. Only disappointment was not being able to take photos onside the monastery - the reason for this wasn't made clear but would be better if we were made aware of thus restriction when booking the tour. Personally, we would have lloved more time for a walk in thexstunning mountains.

It was a goof tour with plenty of variety. On the last through the mountains to the wine tasting there were some beautiful views and would make great photographic opportunities but there were no stops for this. If there were stopping places these could be looked at, if only for a 5 minute break. But on balance it was a great day out

Nice itinerary which gave a good experience of the area. We had enough time in each spot too. The guide was very knowledgeable and gave us a lot of information about the country/region/flaura and fauna etc etc. The driver did a great job navigating the twisty roads too. The lunch was very good too. Nothing we didn't like really.

We enjoyed the whole trip. The guide and driver kept us well informed and safe. I liked the fact that it was a mini bus rather than a coach . Lunch was better than we expected and plenty of it. The only thing I would have liked wad a little longer after the wine tasting to browse purchase and use toilet facilities. Well worth the money .

The villages, one to visit the printer, one for coffee were good. The lunch was excellent. The monastery quite interesting but there was only the church to see. There was no background to the monks and how they lived. We weren’t interested in the winery. The owner was amusing and it was a very generous tasting but after the monastery we’d have been happy to return to Paphos. Excellent driver.

Enjoyed it all completely. Our guide is think her name was una was extremely knowledgeable about any questions you asked and gave excellent commentary throughout. The driver of the minibus was very good navigating the narrow village roads. Nice lunch at taverner. A good day that flew by not too long anywhere but not rushed considering what was fitted in 8 hours. Would reccomend to all.

The part I least enjoyed was the winery as their wines were not to our taste. Mostly very sour. There are many other places that are producing a better product. The print making museum was very interesting as the artist guided us through his work. The monastery was equally good and our guide was very knowledgeable.

The transport and the driver were excellent. The tour guide, Nick was very knowledgeable and friendly. However, the bridge at the Monastery was closed. This meant a challenging diversion on foot which some of the tourists couldn’t make. It also meant our time in the Monastery was cut short. But for this the trip was really very,very good.

De excursie was bij bepaalde bezienswaardigheden te lang en andere te kort. Ook werd er geen rekening gehouden met mensen die slecht ter been waren. Alles moest snel erdoor heen. Ook was de tijd in de bus relatief lang t.o.v. de zaken die bekeken konden worden. Verder kon de gids wel veel vertellen over Cyprus en hebben we een leuke dag gehad waarin veel te zien was.

We didnt go to the monastery which we very disappointing. We went to a artist which was good. But not what we originally paid for. As Monastery was planned we wore extra clothing that wasn't required. So we're over dressed for the tour The winery was also rushed due to time spent at artist museum The driver was excellent and was contacting the guide to say we needed to leave...on several occasions. The tour was good.. just disappointing for Monastery part

Veel gezien van de omgeving. Lekker gelunchd, was allemaal goed geregeld. Een top chauffeur. Fijn was het kleine gezelschap vd dagtrip en de adults only. Jammer was de lange reistijd tussen de stops, daardoor zat je lang in de bus.

Nice to get away from the hotel and see the island. A nice trip to the Troodos mountains stopping at various places along the route in the minibus. The guide was excellent and provided lots of information. The driver was excellent too, navigating through the small village roads. The lunch provided was good and plenty of it. One person on the trip was ill with travel sickness so if you do suffer take a travel sickness pill and sit in the front of the bus. It was a nice day out.
