Great

The drive to the location was long and arduous and may not be suited to anyone with back or mobility issues. This definitely isn’t the fault of the tour guides but the information doesn’t make the 90 minute off road drive very clear. However, the experience on arrival was amazing and I feel so privileged to have watched a loggerhead turtle make its nest and lay over 50 eggs. The marine biologist was brilliant!

A magical experience which I would recommend to anyone BUT I feel there should have been more emphasis about the length of the journey to and from the beach. Also the off road sections were very rough and may not be suitable for everyone. Other than that I would have given this trip 10 out of 10.

Picked up and dropped off our our hotels. It was long journey but worth it. Information chat before hand in the camp about turtles on the island and effort taken to help preserve turtles. You aren't guaranteed to see the turtles but it all depends on nature. Guide laid rules and instructed us in how to move and watch without disturbing the turtles. Nice the hear that some of the cost is returned to the turtle conversation to help support this cause.

We were excited to attend the turtle tour. The journey was ok as we had read the reviews and enjoyed the off road bit. The briefing was interrupted understandably as a turtle was nesting but then it wasn't completed so we didn't get the information. That was all we got to see. It lasted the minimum time and no real effort was made to find any other nesting turtles. It was disappointing and rushed. We were just tourist cash cows and saw more walking along the beach during the day. Disappointing!

Due to the unpredictability of whether we would see a turtle or not on this trip I was pleased that we were able to see one and catch glimpses of a couple of baby turtles too. Guide was very knowledgeable and visibly cared about the turtles. I would have liked to stay around a bit longer to see if anymore came by. The government will be increasing the price of this trip and I feel that people will expect more from it

We were lucky to see 4 adult female turtles coming ashore to lay their eggs. The full moon illuminated the beach and together with the guides red torches we saw everything. Mrs J loves turtles so it made her holiday. It was quite moving - and I’m a bloke! The guides were informative and made the experience educational too. Ignore comments about it being dark and rough journey - it’s called nature. Great ‘trip’ . Thank you

Seeing the turtles was obviously the main goal and was achieved quickly. The timings of the pickup really ought to be matched for meal times at the hotel. No one ought to be crunched up in the back of a van for an hour and a half immediately after having spent 20 minutes shovelling food down their throats.

Kudos to the drives for driving out in complete darkness through the dessert, wow , now that's an experience on its own right there , as for the turtles, my days , unique , once in a life time opportunity to see them laying eggs naturally in their natural habitat, fantastic , we got to see newly born also , again a very lucky and unique moment , visibility is awfully reduced but once you get there just enjoy the silence and the uniqueness of the moment .

Transport is horrendous. 8 people crammed into the back of a 4x4 with small "bench" seats is the opposite of comfortable. Additionally one of the benches had no seat belts and the seatbelt I had kept unclasping during the ride. Also nothing to hold onto given the VERY rough ride. Also don't send a mixed language group together. During the talks it was impossible to hear/understand the guide because another guide was speaking in a different language at the same time making both illegible

Firstly, seeing the turtles in their natural habitat was amazing and a once in a life trip. The guides shared their knowledge well and knew the turtles and their routines. However, there was little to no notice regrading the off-road element and journey time to the beach. There was eight people (three different parties) crammed into the back of a 4x4 for nearly an hour and a half with a large portion of that off-road and very uncomfortable. Less people/more comfortable vehicle would be better.

What an amazing experience, to be able to see nature at one of its finest moments in its own environment. It was truly beautiful to see, undertaken sensitively so no stress was caused to the turtles. Amazing experience to see a turtle laying her eggs on the beach, we also saw another turtle coming up on to the beach. The highlight for me was seeing baby turtles and being able to pick them up to go and release them closer to the water! The 4x4 ride there is very bumpy but we knew that. When we got there is was very dark and we understood that we didn’t want to scare the turtles away however we really needed more light between the big group. Only the front guide had a red light and we had to follow meaning we fell over a lot of rocks on the way. So very dangerous. When we saw the turtle it was fantastic such an amazing experience to see! Can’t take photos however if we knew, we would of taken a go pro as this was allowed.

Yes its bumpy and Hot but after about 1 hour you are there and what follows is so worth it. You arrive at beach and all in dark NO LIGHT ( So if this isnt your bag dont book it) walk over rocks and dunes to the Beach to see turtles laying eggs, Respect the fact no photos or Phones but its a memory you will keep for life. This was a fascinating experience that we really enjoyed, especially the information from the marine biologists. However we were very sadden that after laying her eggs, children and adults were encouraged to stroke the turtle. Worth every penny to see the turtle. Turtle not turtles, we had a satisfactory break down of the facts and we were driven off road which was very uncomfortable and then walked to a nest to see her laying. I would happily pay this again in case the money does actually go to the volunteers but I also saw several on the beach in the last few nights plus there were lots of volunteers who could also do with the financial support around the hotel.

We had an amazing experience. The journey in the back of the Land Rover over the sand dunes, in the dark, only took 20.minutes. We walked for another 20 minutes. You definitely need trainers on as the ground is uneven and a mixture of sand, stones and rocks. We then waited for another 20 minutes, walked some more and then saw a 70cm long Loggerhead Turtle dig a whole and lay 70ish eggs. Well worth the hike! Back at hotel within 3 hours. TUI should give more guidance on what is needed beforehand as this won’t be suitable for everyone. The journey in the jeep is an hour, very bumpy and uncomfortable. Trainers are a must (no open toed shoes) as you’ll be expected to walk quite a way on the beach, over rocks in the dark.

Insufficient information regarding the travel to watch the turtles come ashore and lay their eggs. This has been dealt with separately and extremely well by Shelley your rep on site; I will refrain from further comment here. Throughout, Shelley was excellent. Hotel excellent and food excellent; couldn't get near any of the pools due to huge numbers of holidaymakers making it impossible. Couldn't swim in the sea either as it was far too dangerous. Great

Overall a good trip but felt something was missing, it was great to see the turtles and them nesting and was a great overall experience, as it was dark you had to stay with guide and the experience felt as if it was tick box and once you saw a turtle arrive/leave/nest you went home.

Excellent

Seeing the turtles lay eggs was absolutely amazing. This was all expertly explained by the guides who were very knowledgeable. It was certainly an experience driving through the sand dunes in a 4x4 in the dark! The only suggestion we have is to provide a little more information on the TUI app about suitable footwear, the journey etc as all it says is to wear dark clothes.

Excellent

Amazing experience. Well organised, good amount of information given. Time for questions/discussion. Wasn’t rushed

Average

Loved seeing the turtles but the ride there and back was awful. No pre warning that it was off-road etc and would take an hour. I get travel sick and felt terrible. The jeep also had no air con and was boiling which didn’t help

Great

I split my toe open on a rock. On the TUI app it does not state you need closed in toed shoes/footwear. I was in terrible pain with an open wound on the beach.

Excellent

The drive there was like a 4x4 safari but the evening more than made up for it The guide was so informative. We didn’t realise how close we would be to the turtles. Truly something to remember forever. We were lucky to name a turtle who hadn’t been chipped which made the experience even more special for us.

Great

It has never happened as I booked the trip but it is not the right season and I should have not been able to book it. I spent 1 hour outside the hotel waiting to be picked up. The Reception didn't know anything. The flowing day the tui rep explained that the was an issue with the system that allowed guests to book the trip but it was not on
