Wil je wat extra cultuur toevoegen aan je vakantie op Cyprus? Dan is deze complete tour echt iets voor jou. Nadat je bij je accommodatie bent opgehaald, ga je naar je eerste stop, Lefkara. Dit pittoreske dorp staat op het hele eiland bekend om zijn zilveren en kanten handwerk. Je krijgt genoeg gelegenheid om zelf wat te kopen terwijl je met je gids door de geplaveide straten van het dorp loopt.Vanaf hier begint de rit naar Nicosia, waar je bij Laiki Geitonia aan de wandeltour begint. Dit deel van de stad is volledig autovrij en ligt binnen de 16e-eeuwse Venetiaanse muren. De meeste huizen hier dateren uit de 18e eeuw en zijn gerestaureerd, dus zorg ervoor dat je je camera bij de hand hebt – het metselwerk is echt iets bijzonders.Ten slotte volg je je gids door de controlepost naar het noordelijke deel van de stad. Hier vind je tal van attracties die zo op een ansichtkaart thuishoren, zoals de kathedraal van Saint Sophia, het belangrijkste religieuze gebouw in Nicosia. Deze kathedraal is meer dan 700 jaar oud, maar wordt nu als moskee gebruikt.

Je hebt je paspoort/identiteitskaart nodig om de controlepost naar het noordelijke deel van Nicosia te passeren
Let op: afhankelijk van de locatie van je hotel kunnen de transfertijden voor deze tour tot twee uur bedragen
Goed om te weten: alleenstaande ouders of gezinnen die zonder beide ouders reizen, moeten extra documenten overleggen voor iedereen onder de 18 jaar die naar het noorden van Cyprus reist. Dit omvat een ‘machtigingsbrief' van de afwezige ouder, evenals ondersteunende documenten, waaronder de geboorteakte van het kind, een kopie van het paspoort van de afwezige ouder of een kopie van een gerechtelijk bevel. Sjablonen voor deze brieven zijn gemakkelijk te vinden via zoekmachines, maar we raden je aan om voor je op vakantie gaat een advocaat te raadplegen

Man hat gefühlt nur im Bus gesessen. Nordzypern im Eilthempo, keine Zeit für eigene Unternehmungen, der Guide hat sogar die gesamte Gruppe verloren, unnötig viel Zeit dann wieder in Südzypern wo man nicht viel machen konnte. Im Anschluss sind wir nur noch im Eilthempo zurück zum Hotel gefahren. Leider hat es keineswegs unseren Erwartungen entsprochen.

Der erste stop im Bergdorf war gut und passend von der Zeit 👍🏻 der Grenzübergang war komplizierter veranstaltet als es eigentlich war Der Besuch der Moschee war in Ordnung Aber der Lauf zum Ziel der Karawane ein abfertigen Vllt wäre ein längerer Aufenthalt besser, um in Ruhe zu essen und sich ein wenig außerhalb der Karawane umzusehen, den das war kein bazar, die meisten „Shops“ stehen leer oder keiner da, die freie Zeit in in der Stadt wieder in der griechischen Seite war ein Witz,

The TUI staff were very good as always. The tour itself did not give value for money, an imbalance of shopping over site seeing, this is possibly because the site seeing could be done in half a day . The promotion of local cheesecake with lemonade was overstated , the drink was welcomed in the high temperatures. The mosque visit highlighted a beautiful building with so much history covered up , leaving us to reflect and add to our disappointment- It was promoted accurately so not a criticism

To be honest, other than the guide being very knowledgeable about Cyprus, and it's history, the trip was really more about shopping than actually seeing Nicosia. The mosque, and khan were lacking in historical detail for those looking for real history. Lefkara was a pretty place, but as it was really a stop on the way to Nicosia, there was little time to to see much. Other than the church there was little to see. We did not think for the price this excursion was at all value for money.

Im Verhältnis zur langen Anteise von Paphos gab es eher wenig zu sehen. Der türkische Teil war wesentlich interessanter als der eher heruntergekommene zyprische Teil. Die ehemaligen Einkaufsstraßen boten nur sehr wenige Geschäfte. Der Stop in Lefkara war nicht nötig.

Enjoyed the trip very much, was able to explore a small village in the mountain who appreciate the tourism and want to speak with you about their silver and textiles. Then a visit to Nicosia to see the capital and the occupied Turkish side, It’s amazing to see the history. The guide is fantastic, we were the last pick up, so the tour got started right away, and they explained things as you went on the journey so you’re learning throughout. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to learn about Cyprus

Our guide Chris was fantastic his knowledge about the history of Cyprus was excellent. The trip to Lefkara village was interesting we met the local gold and silver smith whose English was limited so we used stilted words to understand each other such a talented gentleman. Having been evacuated during the Turkish invasion of Cyprus in 1974 I found the trip very educational. The snack and real lemonade inside the Turkish quarter in “The great Knan” was a welcome treat too.

Der Aufenthalt in Lefkara war schön,hätte aber länger dauern können. In Nikosia wurde eine Stadtführung angekündigt, es war aber nur der Weg von der Bushaltestelle auf der Ledrastreet über den Grenzübertritt zur Selimiye Moschee und in die touristische Karawanserei und wieder zurück. Die Informationen waren hier von der Reisleiterin eher dürftig. Wir hätten gerne noch z. B. Laika Geitonia oder den Eleftheria Square besuchten die Markthalle Bandabuliiya. Für das Gebotene war der Ausflug zu teuer

Die Führung durch Lefkara war gut, etwas mehr Freizeit wäre hier sehr schön gewesen. Die Führung durch Nikosia war enttäuschend, es hieß Rundgang durch die Stadt. Es war leider nur eine Straße, dann der Checkpoint, zur Moschee mit kurzer Führung. Dann gute zwei Stunden Freizeit, mit lediglich Souvenir Läden. Denke die Stadt hätte mehr zu bieten gehabt.

The guide was SO informative and gave us local information that you would not find on the internet. Also, he put a personal touch to what it meant to the Greek Cypriots to leave their homes when Turkey occupied North Cyprus. A memorable experience to cross the border.

Gudrun (Guide) war sehr informativ, der Fahrer war top. In Lefkara hätten wir gerne noch etwas mehr Zeit verbracht. Die Stadtführung in Nicosia war auch informativ; die Pause dort empfanden wir etwas lang. Den Preis halten wir für etwas hoch; die gleiche Tour in englischer Sprache lag nach unseren Informationen beim halben Preis.

De gids had geen enkele binding met de mensen in de bus. Hij raffelde een geschiedkundig verhaal af, trad meermaals in herhaling, maar vond het niet nodig te zien of iemand zijn verhaal volgde. Vanaf mijn plaats in de bus kon ik zien dat niemand ook maar iets meekreeg. Terwijl de bus op slechte weggedeelten extra lawaai maakte, praatte de gids door. Zonder enige introductie starte hij een sessie, welke zomaar weer stilviel. Mogelijk een medewerker meesturen en aanhoren wat ik hier beweer

Good trip. But not very comfortable minibus especially as there was a lot of travelling involved, so I wouldn’t book it again for that reason. Guide full of information. He was very clear about when and where to meet after free time. And always told us where he would be if we needed him.

Der Stop in den Bergen zur Kaffeepause in einem pittoresken Bergdorf war sehr schön. Von Nikosia haben wir nichts gesehen außer zwei Touristeneinkaufsstraßen, dem Checkpoint, einer Kirche/Moschee und einer Karawanserei.

It was the most boring tour we have ever been on . The guide read out pages and pages of history which could have been condensed we fell asleep! We already knew some of the history . When we got there we was told we couldn’t buy anything in there he Turkish side there really is no point going over the border! Went straight back over and looked round there . Was a very long day which we didn’t know and just a snack forage money !

The guide was fantastic and very informative and welcoming. The journey over the border was explained clearly and went smoothly. The journey was comfortable and the bus was clean . We were advised on where was good to eat and drink. It was a little uncomfortable to walk at times for one member of our party due to the uneven surfaces, that’s all. It was a pleasurable trip and we learned a lot.

Very good day. Knowledgeable guide. The bus dropped us off and picked us up at convenient points. I would point out that when we entered the mosque in Nicosia the women were asked to wear a scarf over our heads. Fortunately I had one. I saw one lady refused entry. We’re were warned to keep our shoulders and knees covered beforehand but no mention of a head covering for women.
