With long stretches of unspoilt beach and a rich cultural heritage – Sal has all the ingredients for a perfect day trip. This tour packs in the best sights, including Buracona lagoon and Pedra de Lume salt flats. To top it off, there's a traditional Cape Verdean lunch, and you'll get a glimpse of laidback, local life in Espargos and Palmeira. Rodrigo, one of our local guides, says, ‘Pedra de Lume is in the middle of a volcanic crater, and you reach it via a tunnel. You can sometimes pick up compressed salt crystals the size of a golf ball, while at other times the salt is so hard that you walk on the pans.'The fun kicks off with a visit to Espargos. You'll explore the island's colourful capital and admire its fascinating street art, before heading to an observatory point for elevated views over the town. Next, it's on to the Buracona lagoon, famed for an optical illusion known as the ‘blue eye' caused by the sunlight. The journey continues at the laidback fishing village of Palmeira. Relax in a café while your guide reveals stories about the village's past.You're in for a treat next, as there's a table waiting for us at a family-run restaurant which serves a special Cape Verdean lobster dish. There are other tasty options, too. After fuelling up on local cuisine, we'll head to the Dead Sea-like waters of Pedra de Lume. Lie back and float on one of the world's saltiest lagoons, before stopping by at Viveiros Botanical Garden to discover exotic vegetation and a petting zoo.

Wir hatten Felipa als Reiseführerin, die den Ausflug sehr liebevoll und amüsant gestaltet hat. Mit ihrer Art, konnte sie uns das Leben in Sal näher bringen und hat unsere Gruppe auch zusammengeführt. Die Ausflugsorte waren absolut sehenswert und auch das Mittagessen war sehr köstlich. Insgesamt stimmte das Preisleistungsverhältnis. Ich würde die Tour immer wieder machen und empfehlen sie jedem ! Es war ein toller Tag der immer in Erinnerung bleibt.

Guide and day was great but sadly food was not. Vegi option consisted of plain couscous, grilled (soggy) vegetables and a tired looking salad. Tasteless and not eaten. Consider all customers needs. Vegetarian food is amazing and flavoursome. Even a few chips, cheese and salad would have been better. Complained to rep and waiting for reply

We enjoyed seeing the island and the guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Two things spoiled the trip the stop at the municipal market was unnecessary and just felt like a pressure to spend money stop! Also the botanical gardens was not a highlight as the condition of the animals and the enclosures they are kept in is horrendous big thumbs down on that part.

Tony the guide was very informative and was excellent especially as he's not got a lot to work with. The salt lake experience was about the best part and the meal was good, other than that there really wasn't much to see and it was padded out with drink stops to extend the time. I appreciate it's a barren desert island and they're trying to give experiences but in my view £100+ per person is excessive for this trip.

The whole trip was amazing. Our guide Clovis was exceptional, he was very knowledgeable and so much fun. He kept us well informed on what we was doing. He made sure the whole group was having a good time and felt safe. The salt lake was really good and the botanical gardens. The whole experience was 10/10 and I would recommend it.

It was a great experience enjoyed it all, we had the must amazing quite Tony what a fabulous top bloke he was so knowledgeable, we didn’t make the botanic Gardens as Tony had some bad news, as we were arriving but the bus decided to give it a miss, we were offered by our reps another day but it was a fantastic day,we’ve had a amazing holiday in Cape Verde and hotel was fantastic.xx

Uns hat die Tour super gefallen. Alles sehenswerte hat man uns gezeigt, toll war auch kulturelles politisches geschichtliches und zukünftiges über die Insel zu erfahren. Unser Guide Felipe war eine super freundlich und offene Begleitung , sie hat den Tag besonders gemacht . Eine Kompliment auch an ihr tolles deutsch :-) Alles in allem würden wir diese Tour empfehlen, wir hatten einen super Tag.

En premier on a aimé l’état du Bus, nous avons moins aimés de n’avoir pas plus visiter les village ou ville où nous nous sommes même pas arrêter à l’aller et au retour en plein soleil ceci était trop court On est passé à côté de marché en roulant Dommage Le restaurant était bon, mais personne ne nous a expliqué le type de poisson que nous mangeons

Bon accueil et explication sur l’histoire du cap vert et en particulier l’île de Sal. Visite agréable et sans stress. Je trouve dommage que les guides ne partagent pas le repas avec les clients. Mais je peux comprendre qu’ils aient besoin d’un peu de calme.

Tony was amazing. Lobster was fantastic - we were skeptical when we read the other reviews, however we shouldn't have doubted because it was delicious! Salt pools were crazy. Tony's knowledge and openness was brilliant, we couldn't fault him in any way.

The trip was cut short and I wasn't offered a refund or credit for the portion of the trip that wasn't shown. When I sought help, the staff were extremely impatient, rude, and unhelpful. The whole experience was a scam!

Tour guide was quite rude at times and very pushy, saying some very questionable and rude stuff to myself, there isn’t really much to see in the tour if anything it makes you feel guilty for having a holiday because of the state of how people live in these unsafe shacks and small kids begging on the streets. Wouldn’t really recommend and it is so overpriced, the food wasn’t very good considering how much you pay.

Ich kann Felipa nur loben. Sie hat in ihrem einwandfreien Deutsch viel über die Insel erzählt. Auf jeden einzelnen von uns Rücksicht genommen und ich fühlte mich bei ihr sehr gut aufgehoben. Nilson hat uns sehr gut auf den teilweise schlechten Strassen sicher ans Ziel gebracht.

It was a great day and our guide was fab! The blue eye was a fantastic experience to see and our rep was very helpful in taking pictures for us. Lunch (chicken) was lovely and our drinks order was taken in advance so we didn’t need to wait for them. The salt lake was fab too floating around, it was quiet which made it better. Would definitely recommend this tour.

Die Insel Tour hat uns sehr gefallen. Alles war gut organisiert und unsere Tour guide war perfekt, nett, aufmerksam und witzig und spritzig. Hat viel ueber die Insel und Inseln erzählt. Top! Mein Mittagessen entsprach leider nicht meinen Erwartungen. Den bestellten Fisch habe ich stehen lassen. Er war wirklich voll mit Fischgraeten. Der Obsalat entsprach nicht meinen Erwartungen und habe ich stehen lassen. Meine Empfehlung - Das Packet - Mittagessen sollte überarbeitet werden.

We enjoyed every aspect, our guide was brilliant. Very knowledgeable and passionate about the people of the island and the general running of things, our driver was very good and felt safe 100% of the time. We learnt so much about the island and culture, would 100% recommend this trip, added bonus of the salt mines you feel great during and after it. Only improvement would be the animals at the gardens, they were in very small areas and it was a little depressing.

Die Tour war insgesamt in Ordnung, man hat einen guten Überblick über die Highlights der Insel, die Tour ist aber recht kommerziell. Man wird in Läden gebracht, um Souvenirs zu kaufen. Das Essen ist maximal in Ordnung mit Aufschnitt als Vorspeise und einem halbgaren Huhn als Hauptgang. Lobster im Titel nur gegen Aufpreis irreführend. Der Guide hatte viel Wissen über die Insel und das Leben dort; war aber viel mit ihren Bekannten vor Ort beschäftigt. Für den Preis hatten wir uns mehr erhofft.

Es war eine rundum gelungene Tour. Der Abschluss im botanischen Garten machte den Tag rund. Angenehm wäre gewesen das Baden im Salzsee am Ende um gleich im Hotel unter die Dusche zu können. Allerdings möchte ich den schönen Abschluss im bot. G. Nicht missen.
