On this half-day tour, you will get to know Comillas, the only modernist town in Cantabria and a model of Catalonia modernism. You will be surprised by the amazing life of Antonio López y López, the first Marquese of Comillas and the true promoter of the main unique buildings of this town.Your first stop is at the Old Major Seminary (previously known as Comillas University). Enjoy a guided tour of this majestic building designed by Catalan architect Lluís Domenech i Montaner. From the Seminary, take in wonderful views over the city and the Palace of Sobrellano in particular.Afterward, visit the famous Capricho de Gaudí. This modernist villa was built in 1885 and is one of the first works of the famous Catalan architect. The building is just amazing and it stands to be the beginning of the modernist movement as well as one of the few works he carried out outside of Catalonia.Finally, don't miss the opportunity to take a short scenic drive tour around Comillas to see some of the most emblematic places of this city, such as the old cemetery, the port, and Comillas beach.

Pick-up from your hotel in Santander. Alternatively, you can go to the meeting point at the bus stop in C/ Castelar, 25 (next to hotel Vincci Puertochico). You should be at the meeting point at least 15 minutes prior to the departure time. From Torrelavega area please be at: Pabellón de la Habana Vieja (bus stop).
