Known locally as La Cenerentola, or Cinderella, Lake Orta has an ethereal, unspoilt quality far away from the crowds. You'll journey along its shores during what promises to be a relaxing afternoon tour from Lake Maggiore.While Lake Orta is the smaller and less visited of Italy's subalpine lakes, it's considered one of the prettiest by many. You'll be able to judge for yourself on this tour, which takes you to its most scenic points along the shore. There's free time to sip a drink at a café in a lakeside piazza or just sit back and soak up the lake's mountain backdrops. It's a very romantic setting.You'll also catch sight of the islet in the middle of the lake, San Giulio, one of the northern Italy's best-kept secrets. Hop aboard a short boat ride across and make sure to visit its Romanesque basilica, famed for its frescoes.

We enjoyed all the experience. The ferry ride was good. Luca the guide was very good and very informative. The island of st Julia was beautiful as was orta.

Thoroughly enjoyed Lake Orta, well organised it included boat trip down the lake to San Giulio and then to isola San Giulio and a visit to the basilica. Lucca the guide was brilliant. very knowledgeable, humorous and kept everyone interested.

The guide Luca was fantastic, extremely knowledgeable. The bus driver was amazing, very impressive driving. The first island we went to was quaint and the basilica was breathtaking. Orta itself was a lovely little place. Didn't like much the first boat being a public boat took quite a while due to picking others up. We paid for the trip yet felt that this was not quite right. The boats were never on time which meant we stood around a lot waiting when we could have been sightseeing.

Luca's excellent commentary and Andre's highly skillful driving made it a perfect trip. Loved the town of Orta and boat rides. Loved views across the lake and pretty villages on journey home. I was not so happy that people with mobility problems were forced to pay for a boat trip because the walk was too far.

Great
Coach dropped us quite a walk from the centre in the pouring rain. Not even in the coach park ! There was a tourist information nearby so 4 of us booked a taxi to the centre. Cost 15 euros ! Could have warned us but could have been better in the pouring rain. This was the driver of the coach not the guide Luca. Luca was fantastic.

The TUI APP. is difficult to use, -it advertises tours which are not running, -it would not send the email with my boarding cards, -difficult to use when booking trips - took me 4 attempts with a TUI rep to book 1 trip, -when booking a second trip - it does not tell you why it won't, work or what info I've entered is wrong. Other people on our tour could not get it to work, they wanted to have a rep to talk to, but the reps can only be contacted by using the app.
