Bij zonsondergang ga je naar de top van de Etna, een avontuur op 2900 meter hoogte
Op de top maak je een rit over het ruige vulkanische terrein in een 4x4 Unimog
Vanaf de hellingen van de Etna vergaap je je aan de zonsondergang onder begeleiding van een deskundige gids
Na afloop smul je van een typisch diner en drankjes in een berghut
Je lokale gids weet alles over de Etna en brengt de geschiedenis van de vulkaan tot leven met fascinerende verhalen
Wat te verwachten
Wat een unieke sensatie: bovenop een vulkaan de hemel in verschillende kleuren oranje zien veranderen tot de avond valt. Deze tocht brengt je naar de Etna, een must-do op Sicilië. Je gaat naar een hoogte van bijna 3.000 meter om de zon te zien ondergaan en je geniet nog na van je avontuur met een traditionele maaltijd. Je gaat in een minibus met naar de Etna. En zodra het terrein rotsachtiger wordt, ruil je die in voor een 4x4 voertuig. Onderweg stop je om het ruige lavalandschap in je op te nemen. Het is net of je op de maan bent beland. Je gaat tot 2.900 meter hoogte, het hoogste punt waar je veilig naartoe kunt. Draag comfortabele schoenen en warme kleding, want het kan daarboven aardig koud worden. Nadat je de uitzichten hebt bewonderd van vlakbij de top, daal je af met een ervaren berggids naar een meer beschutte en comfortabele plek op 2.500 meter. Daar val je stil bij het zien van de zonsondergang. En op de weg terug stop je bij een berghut restaurant voor typisch Siciliaans diner.

Fabulous experience - and Fabio was just the best guide. And Mario was an excellent coach driver. All the staff on Etna were great. The mix of activities and organisation of the trip were excellent. Thank you.

Amazing experience, amazing guide! Great value for money, we would highly recommend. Some confusion on what to wear - we went in July when sicily was 35 degrees, but it does get cold + windy up Etna. Would recommend proper footwear (trainers OK!), long trousers, a hoodie/jumper and a light jacket, this will do! Don't need to have thermals or anything more.

The sunset tour was highly enjoyable . Our guide Fabio was excellent, fully informative from start to finish , his enthusiasm for Mount Etna and Sicily shone through, also our Volcano expert Antonio who met us at Etna was equally as good . Finished off with a dinner at a local restaurant, was basic but no real complaints, very enjoyable trip and would thoroughly recommend, word of warning, it is a long day , it’s very windy at the top and can get cold so be prepared but we loved it

We did two seperate walks at different levels, the first was across a reasonably flat surface and quite easy, the second up to and around a flank crater was much harder, due to the loose surface. Unfortunately the sunset tour didnt happen, because of the clouds

Very knowledgable, personable guide. Fantastic journey in the 4*4 trucks for part of the serious ascent. Then a good walk for the final few hundred meters to 2900m. Temperatures dropped sharply there and wind was very strong, requiring fitness and warm clothing which could have been better emphasised in the tour blurb. Some less mobile people struggled with the gradient and loose gravel on this bit. Etna and it’s craters were breathtaking before and during the sunset. This tour is a must.

Prompt pick up by coach. Friendly, knowledgeable guide with excellent English. The honey farm was really enjoyable getting an opportunity to taste lots of things. The offer of jackets to hire for only €5 was good as thick cloud did set in for us, even on August 1st! The dinner was very good offering 4 courses with wine. Don’t really have any negatives!

Isabella was very knowledgeable and could answer all our questions. The wine tasting was a little quick but appreciate it wasn’t the key part of the trip. Mountain guide made us feel safe - but you probably should highlight the best view is through climbing a crater. Which some may not be able to do. Restaurant food was good too, but a vegetarian would not be able to eat the pork and we weren’t asked if we were vegetarian or not ( I am not). But overall a great trip which I highly recommend
