Between November and April, the seas off Mirissa are absolutely brimming with whales and dolphins – and this cruise offers you the chance to see them basking and cavorting in the Indian Ocean. As well as dolphins, blue, killer and sperm whales can be spotted off southern Sri Lanka. You'll also enjoy some free time on Unawatuna beach.You'll head out on a trip to catch a glimpse of these huge creatures, known to take residence off southern Sri Lanka at this time of year. Keep an eye out for any spurts of water in the distance – a sign that one of the whales is near. And you can hear them a mile off, as their songs can reach almost 200 decibels – that's louder than a jumbo jet.On the way back to port, you might encounter pods of dolphins racing with the boat. Back on dry land, lunch will be served, and after there's time to chill out on Unawatuna beach – kick back and relax or go for a dip.

Excellent
Great day out with an early start. Unfortunately we didn’t see any whales today despite the boat crew trying their best for us. We did see dolphins which was fantastic! Stopped off at a lovely spot on Unawatuna beach for lunch and then a quick tour around Galle Fort. Our guide was a lovely lady who was very knowledgeable and helpful.

Die Ausflugsbeschreibung hätte ausführlicher sein müssen. Man war nicht auf alles vorbereitet. Feste Schuhe zum Beispiel in diesem Fall. Das Boot war nicht das, was wir erwartet hatten. Es war größer als gedacht, ca 80 - 100 Ausflugsgäste. Wenn man in der Mitte saß, konnte man nicht viel sehen. Die Sitze wahren extrem unbequem. Wir hatten Glück und konnten Wale und Delphine sehen. Ansonsten war der Ausflug sehr schön. Wir haben viel gesehen. Sogar mehr als erwartet.

Tidig morgon och lång busstransport. Hade förväntat oss mindre båtar och många mer valar/delfiner enligt information om upplevelsen. Nu var det en val som 9 båtar åkte och jagade. Den var uppe 4 ggr innan resan avbröts. Totalt 3 timmar till sjöss. Lunchen var ok. Skulle vara tillfälle till bad på hemvägen men det blev inget. Totalt ingenting att rekommendera.

Sehr schönes Erlebnis. Man muss zwar seine Erwartungen hinsichtlich der Sichtung der Wale etwas zurückfahren, da man diese zum Teil nur beim Auftauchen beobachten kann, kann sich jedoch auf einen sehr schönen, bunten Tag freuen. Das größte Highlight bildete für uns das Schwimmen mit den Schildkröten am Turtle Beach.

Enjoyed the service on the boat, the tuck tuck ride to the port and back, the lunch, the journey along the beach road. Did not enjoy the early start, the long time on the rough sea, and how bad I felt by the end of the day being so tired.
