At the Bois Chéri tea factory, you'll tour the plantations, explore the museum, and pause for a tasting with sweeping views. Next up is Domaine de Saint Aubin, where you'll discover the secrets of rum-making before enjoying a traditional Mauritian lunch on the colonial house veranda.Afterwards, stroll through gardens filled with anthurium and vanilla plants, stop at the old sugar factory for insights into production, and explore the mini-farm and La Maison de la Vanille. In the afternoon, visit La Nef, the coral-built home of poet Robert Edward Hart, now a museum dedicated to his life and work. The day ends with a photo stop at Gris Gris, one of the island's most scenic viewpoints where you'll see waves crashing against the cliffs.

hochinteressant wie lange Vanille braucht bis es verkauft werden kann. Auch die Rumverkostung in der Bar war super, da man selber aussuchen konnte, was man testen möchte.

Sanjeev was superb. He was full of knowledge about Mauritius and gave us lots of info on the tour. He made the trip and was easy to get along with. He pointed out lots of things of interest enroute to the various locations. He was constanly engaged with us all. He wazs my guide for 3 trips.

Aika kalliilta hinta tuntui . Oli kuitenkin käymisen arvoinen kiertoajelu .Ruoka hyvää . Olisi vielä saanut sisältyä kahvihetkiä leivonnaisineen siihen hintaan :)ennen takaisin lähtöä . Mielenkiintoinen retki kaikenkaikkiaan . Kaunis luonto matkanvarrella . Olisi ollut kiva tietää vähän enemmän matkanvarrella näkemistämme kasveista. Kysyin välillä niin silloin kerrottiin mitä tiesivät kertoa.

Der Guide war extrem schlecht zu verstehen. Er sprach leise und in einem sehr schlechten Deutsch. Wir haben irgendwann nur noch OK gesagt, wenn er was sagte. Die Unterhaltung mit dem Fahrer auf Englisch war deutlich besser. Auch hatten wir den Eindruck das der Guide die Tour nur hinter sich bringen wollte. Er sagte wie lange wir Zeit haben und kam dann 5 Min vorher zu uns und lief einfach in die Bilder. Auch das Essen schien ihm selbst sehr gut zu schmecken, so beherzt griff er zu den Brötchen.

We enjoyed the overall trip. It is a long day, a lot of short stops. Could be less involved with longer time at each site. The colonial houses and Tea Factory were very interesting. The houses could do with more information. The Rum tasting appears to just be an add on. Nothing really in detail. We didn’t enjoy the souvenir shop stop. This felt staged - It only opened for us. We also didn’t enjoy the Nature Park. This was actually quite distressing. I would remove this from the itinerary.

Die Tour war mega interessant! Teil der Tour waren der Besuch des Kolonialhauses, die Teeplantage und Teefabrik von Bois Cheri sowie die Domaine de Saint Aubin - ein Kolonialhaus mit Rumdestillerie, Gewürzgarten und Restaurant, wo wir unser Mittagessen, typisch kreolische Speisen, erhalten haben. Die Reiseleiterin Françoise war wirklich super lieb und ist stets individuell auf die Bedürfnisse der Teilnehmenden eingegangen. So haben wir auch spontan einen Stopp bei einem Tamil-Tempel eingelegt.

This tour includes a visit to a zoo which should not be included in a Tui (so called responsible tour operator). The itinerary stated that we would have a guided walk through a nature reserve. La vanilla is not a nature reserve. The animals are kept in enclosed spaces which are not fit for purpose. In 2025 we know better that offering a photo with a baby crocodile and teasing crocodiles with food to make their jaws snap. That is abhorrent. The guide rushed us through every part of the tour.

The guide was excellent. His knowledge of all the places went to was amazing . The restaurant we had lunch in gave us a really lovely three course meal.. the tea tasting was definitely a great experience. The best part for me was meeting the giant tortoises. It was a packed day, but it was a really great day..

The guide favoured the French speaking part of the group and tended to provide less of an explanation in English. There were two Germans in the group and didn’t consider that he was speaking English very fast. It is a very log day - over 9 hours and customers need to be prepared for that. The minibus was not very comfortable. It is a very useful trip to gain an understanding of the history and culture of the island. Lunch was very welcome and good. Good value for money.

Guide sehr bemüht aber sprachlich sehr limitiert. Wenn man eine deutsche Tour bucht, sollte der Guide auch wirklich die deutsche Sprache beherrschen. Wurden nicht gefragt ob wir das vegetarische Gericht möchten. Qualität des Mittagessen war bescheiden. Mehr Zeit bei der Teeverkostung wäre wünschenswert gewesen.

Toller Guide, ausgezeichnete Deutschkenntnisse (Entgegen anderer Rezensionen). Die Tour war sehr interessant, alle Fragen wurden beantwortet. Fahrer wie alle auf der Insel stark am Gas, aber im Vergleich zu den anderen bisher sehr angenehm. Einziger Punktabzug: Relativ wenig Zeit zur freien Verfügung und Erkundung, aber auch teilweise verständlich, wenn man die gesamte Tour und Zeit betrachtet. Für mich aber klare Empfehlung für jeden Urlauber

There was probably too much to do in the time available, the tour was forecast as 4 - 8 hours, it took nearly nice hours, why not forecast 6 - 10 hours and take a little longer where needed.

Zum zweiten Mal haben wir eine von TUI angebotene Reise mit deutschem Reiseleiter gebucht und kommen leider zum selben Ergebnis. Erwartbar sollte beim Reiseleiter mindestens das B1 Niveau sein. Davon waren bede Reiseleiter meiner Meinung nach weit entfernt. Antworten gab es selten im Satz, meist wurden uns einzelne Wörter zugeworfen, Fragen oft nicht verstanden und auch über die Geschichte Mauritius etwas zu erfahren, war schwer. Meine Empfehlung: sofern möglich, auf Englisch/Französisch setzen!

Unser Guide Karen hat einen guten Job gemacht, viel erklärt und war sehr freundlich. Der Fahrer hingegen war eine Katastrophe. Ständiges starkes bremsen und in den Kurven/Kreiseln starkes beschleunigen wechselten sich ab. Dieser Fahrstil ist nichts für einen schwachen Magen. Wir haben uns während der Fahrt nicht sicher gefühlt und waren froh, unbeschadet im Hotel angekommen zu sein. Die Tour an sich gleicht eher einer Massenabfertigung und ist zeitlich sehr eng getaktet.

Unsere Reisebegleiterin Pretty hat sich rührend um alle Gäste gekümmert und die einzelnen Stationen hervorragend gestaltet. Der Besuch der Teefabrik war sehr interessant ebenso wie die Vanilleplantage. Das Mittagessen mit dem Millionärssalat und dem Vanillehühnchen waren äußerst schmackhaft als typisch mauritianische Mahlzeit, die Aufzucht der Riesenschildkröten und der Nilalligatoren echt sehenswert. Ein rundum gelungener Tagesausflug auf Mauritius ????!

Karen our guide was fantastic and told us lots of interesting facts whilst we travelled to the locations. Spending time with Giant Tortoises was great and we were allowed to stroke and fed them. The only criticism would be that we felt we didn’t have long in each location to really look around and we would have liked to have spent time browsing the shops and having time to ourselves.

Alles, was ich sehen wollte, Tee-Plantage, Vanille-Plantage, koloniales Herrenhaus. Man konnte während gearbeitet, Tee sortiert und verpackt wurde durch die Fabrik laufen, sehr cool. Die Teeverkostung war lecker, die Rumverkostung auch. Den Tierpark am Ende, in dem man auch eingesperrte Tiere sieht, die auf Mauritius gar nicht heimisch sind, hätte man sich sparen können.

It was a very good trip. The tour guide was very good, but must of had a sore throat by the end as he did the tour in French and English. Only downfall was there was alot of French on bus and only 2 couples who spoke English. The tour guide did apologised about being so many French on the tour.

Schöner Ausflug. Wurden pünktlich von unserem sehr höflichen und netten Guide abgeholt in einem sehr sauberen, komfortablen Fahrzeug. Der Fahrer war auch sehr gut. Die Fahrt bis zu den Ausflugszielen wurde immer wieder mit Erklärungen zu Natur und Kultur aufgelockert. Das Herrenhaus war bestimmt mal schön, der Park dazu ist toll. Die Teefabrik war laut, stickig und nicht so interessant,Plantage sehr schön, Verkostung ok. Vanille-Farm und Rumverkostung ok, Mittagessen war gut,Tierpark...na ja.

Excellent tour, Zul was a very knowledgable, friendly and fun guide, we learned so much about the island and history just on the bus. Great experiences throughout the day, sadly we didn't get to see the botanical gardens at the end, perhaps not enough time. I would drop the visit to the colonial house, little interest for most people, then have longer for the botanical garden.

A lot was packed in. Best part was seeing the tea being made although it would have been interesting to see the leaves being picked in the fields. The rum tasting was literally just tasting, we would have liked to hear about or see the production. We loved feeding the tortoises but the animal park didn’t have anything else we can’t see in a zoo at home. Our guide was very informative and had to repeat everything in French and English and did an excellent job.

At times it felt a little rushed so maybe one less stop may make that feeling go away. On value for money- we booked online but were told if we booked on resort we could have saved up to 15%. This feels unfair on your part

Interesting tour with a friendly tour guide with a total of 6 of us on the trip (this made it more personal). Our highlights was having the opportunity to feed the giant tortoises and the rum tasting which was fun! The tea tasting and lunch was lovely too with a nice view. Would recommend!

At the park, it may have been better to let people enjoy there time doing their own thing, and providing a place to meet up at specific time rather than a tour round it, but otherwise a very good trip.

Pünktliche Abholung. Kleine Gruppe ( 8 Personen). Guide war sehr informativ und sprach hervorragend deutsch. Tour sehr kompakt. Teefabrik topp. Kolonialhäuser topp. Rumverkostung einziger Schwachpunkt. Mittagessen super. Fahrweise des Minibussfahrers nichts für schwache Nerven. )) Höhepunkt für uns war der Tierpark mit den Risenschildkröten, Aligatoren und Co. Insgesamt eine klare Empfehlung.

Good variety of locations covered, comfortable transport. The highlight was the excellent lunch and the opportunity to see, walk among and feed the giant tortoises. Downside was the day felt too rushed with the guide seldom giving sufficient time at each venue- we got the impression he wanted to avoid the busy traffic period and get home. We were a small group which meant a friendly group and all were happy to take a little longer and not rush.

Der Ausflug war eine schöne Möglichkeit, die Insel und die Geschichte der vorherrschenden Industrie kennen zu lernen (Tee, Zucker, Rum). Es hängt natürlich sehr viel vom Guide ab, wie er die Tour gestalten. In unserem Fall war der Guide (Vikram) super, hat mit viel Witz die Informationen gegeben und die Gäste unterhalten. Auch wenn man natürlich dazu ermutigt wird, Produkte zu kaufen, kann man es nicht als Kaffeefahrt abstempeln, da man keine Verpflichtung zum Kauf hat.

De thee- en rumproeverij waren erg leuk. Mooie locaties ook. Bij de vanillekwekerij goedkoop vanille gekocht en veel geleerd over vanille. Het koloniale landhuis viel een beetje tegen ik had er een andere voorstelling bij. In het krokodillen- en schildpaddenpark hebben we schildpadden mogen voeren en veel geleerd over deze dieren. Leuk en interessant ook voor kinderen. Leuke tour, de moeite waard!

Guide und Fahrer sehr nett, mehrsprachige Führung. Eine schöne Tour, wir haben es sehr genossen. Leider wurde nicht, wie es in der Beschreibung der Tour steht, ein Hindu-Tempel besucht. Am Abschluss der Tour wurde ein Krokodilpark besucht. Der Standard der Tierhaltung lässt sich nicht mit europäischen vergleichen. Auf dem Parkplatz vor dem Tierpark einige unterernährte Straßenhunde. Generell weniger für Menschen geeignet, die ein Herz für Tiere haben.

Unsere Tour war super organisiert und wir hatten in einer kleinen Gruppe sehr viele Informationen über die Insel und die Menschen die dort leben erhalten. Wir waren toll Mittagessen und der Reiseleiter hat mit uns gegessen was ich sehr schön fand. Insgesamt ein gelungener Ausflug.

Wunderbares Service: Abholung, Auto, Fahrer, Reisebegleiter. Spannende Inhalte, viel Information, Viel Rücksicht auf persönliche Bedürfnisse. Einziger Minus war Mittagessen. Ein wirklicher Abstrich, insbesondere wenn die schmackhafte Küche auf der Insel kennt
