Esplorerai i suoi templi in rovina, il teatro parzialmente restaurato e molto altro ancora. Stavroula, un'altra delle nostre guide locali, afferma: «Non solo Salamina è intrisa di miti antichi, ma San Barnaba, che portò il cristianesimo a Cipro nel I secolo, è sepolto in un monastero nelle vicinanze».Dopo un po' di tempo libero per il pranzo, visiterai Famagosta, il cui centro storico è ancora protetto da mura difensive intatte costruite dai Veneziani secoli fa. La tua guida ti mostrerà luoghi d'interesse come il castello e la cattedrale gotica trasformata in moschea. Elpida dice: «Di fronte all'ingresso principale c'è un albero di fico piantato dai crociati che costruirono la cattedrale: è quindi l'essere vivente più antico di Famagosta».A conclusione della visita, è previsto un tour a piedi nella ‘città fantasma' di Varosha. Questa località balneare, un tempo molto frequentata, giace abbandonata da oltre 50 anni. È un'esperienza surreale camminare per le strade ricoperte dalla vegetazione, tra facciate fatiscenti con persiane arrugginite e finestre rotte.

De excursie op zich is wel goed, maar de mond van de gids staat niet. De hele reis praat hij maar door ook over niet relevante onderwerpen, je gaat toch weer luisteren, terwijl je ook even rustig de plaatsen wilt bekijken waar je doorheen rijdt, en we hebben meer dan een half uur moeten wachten voor we opgehaald werden en na ons moesten nog heel veel mensen opgehaald worden.

De gids praatte teveel, constant, op het einde had ik hoofdpijn. Varosha hebben we in 40min moeten zien, en dat is net waarvoor we deze excursie hadden geboekt. Zeer jammer, Salami’s was veel te langdradig en veel te veel tijd verloren.

The journey from Pafos was a bit too long, having to pick up people in other towns added quite a bit of time. This made the actual stop/visits quite rushed. There was not really enough time to eat and explore the Old Town, or to really see Varusha properly. It would be better either not visit Salamis, or to do 2 seperate tours eg. Salamis and Old Town, or Varosha and Old Town.

The guide ruined the experience for us, we could not understand her English, the whole trip was wasted regarding understanding the history of Cyprus. Our trip into the closed city was rushed. Almost all all passengers on the trip were annoyed and disappointed. Overall we felt the whole trip was waste of a whole day and money.

J'ai aimé l'excursion,mais je trouve vraiment,mais vraiment triste,mon épouse et moi qui sommes vraiment intéressés par bcp d'histoire dans nos visites,surtout à varoscha,que tous est en Anglais,on le savait, par TUI,mais c'est triste car on comprend rien toute la journée et sa nous intéresse tellement,on est en octobre et pas possible d'avoir une visite en Français pour cette excursions,sinon rien à dire sur la guide,juste dommage qu'on a rien compris sur l'histoire de cette belle île Chypre

A great tour with three amazing stops of various interest. Salamis because of St Paul, Farmagusta because of the walls of the city and Varoosha due to its strange political history. The coach trip was long, though this was expected due to pick up points. Overall a very interesting and enjoyable experience. More time at Varoosha would be good.

Excellent guide but way too much information by the end of the day. After nearly 12 hours of travel it became too much. Could do with a condensed version ( If possible). Otherwise it makes interesting listening when being told about the invasion. We got the impression that both sides clearly see things differently and I’m old enough to remember what happened.

Lange zit in de bus, maar dat wisten we vooraf. De gids, Andri, was goed op de hoogte van de hele geschiedenis van Cyprus. Ze was echter constant aan het woord waardoor de interesse bij veel mensen verloren ging. Ze was wel heel nadrukkelijk aan het vertellen over haar familie. Is mooi, maar hoeft niet constant. "Less is more"

Ghost Town was disappointing expected more of deserted experience and was just derelict buildings. Looked on line & read items left in shops as if just abandoned. Famagusta - stopped for lunch didn’t see any of the town . Went to restaurant Zantani ordered food before we looked around waited 50 mins for food to arrive - food never arrived so had to cancel order to get back to coach this happened to an older couple too very unimpressed

The trip was too long, have 3 hrs free time in a place where little English was spoken & shops were uninteresting for a lunch break was not good. The Varosha visit was good but you were very limited with what you were allowed to see.. it only took 20 - 30 minutes to visit. Overall it was around an 11 hour day mainly travelling. The price had increased by €11 per person to cover the increase cost in fuel !!!

The whole day was incerdibly well organised and enjoyable. The guide was informative and used personal experiences and reflections to illustrate the events and bring history alive. The facilities were great en route too. Food, drink and toilet breaks provided at decent intervals. The coach was comfortable and new. The actual roman baths, Venetian walls and ghost town were well worth a visit. Highly recommend this trip.

This was a trip I had wanted to do for a long time and it didn't disappoint. The guide, Nef was amazing, so knowledgeable and really interesting to listen to. The highlight for me was Varosha and going through the checkpoints. I would highly recommend this excursion but maybe not in the height of summer!

Great day out , cool bus driver and a very passionate tour guide. We were out for a good 12 hours so be ready. Very interesting overall BUT if your main goal is to visit Varosha ghost town this was unfortunately the place where we stayed the shortest time with barely an hour to look around. This was a bit disappointing for me as it was my main destination. Still good though but again if you’re looking to explore Varosha a bit more in depth maybe you need to look elsewhere.

We enjoyed it all but would have preferred less time at Salamis and more time in Famagusta and especially Varosha. We didn’t realise it was possible to swim off the beautiful beach at Varosha and an extra hour to do this would finish the trip off well. The guide Andri was outstanding and really made the trip along with the comfortable bus.

Wij, mijn vrouw en ik,zijn beide nederlandstalig.Wij begrijpen een weinig engels,maar wij hebben er weinig of niets van begrepen van gans de uitleg. Ik kan begrijpen dat engelse als wereldtaal is, maar ik vind dat wanneer er anderstalige deelnemen aan een uitstap een korte samenvating op papier geen overbodige luxe is ook al is de uitstap in het engels aangegeven inde brochure.

Our guide, Andri, was excellent and very informative. She had first hand experience and was able to make history "relatable" - real people with real experiences. Very thought provoking and so much insight. So glad we did the trip and would highly recommend it. Not one for kids, but adults with an interest in the modern shape of Europe, it is a real must do. I now also understand why in tavernas in Cyprus I get corrected when I ask for a Greek coffee - it is a Cyprus coffee!

Enjoyed the Ghost Town visit and would have preferred longer there. Most of the toime was spent at Salamis which whilst interesting was in the hottest part of the day and the party on the visit were of different walking capabilities which slowed the whole visit up. The pick up times from various hotels was way too long, nearly two hours and extended the overall day trip to nearly 12 hours. way too long.

Andrea our guide was brilliant. Unfortunately, some people on the tour didn't understand English very well or talked over her when she was giving out information. Andrea dealt with that very professionally on what was a very hot day. Her knowledge knew no bounds and she is is a credit to her profession. Just one thing (didn't spoil our day) - the tour was advertised as 8 hrs. It was almost 11 hrs from pick up to drop off which made sense considering what we did and the distance travelled.

We enjoyed Famagusta and Varosha, not so much Salamis would like to of spent longer in Famagusta and Varosha and missed out Salamis. Free time in Famagusta off about 1 hr 20 mins to get lunch and look around is not enough after being picked up 8am need lunch when stopping at 1.45 back on bus at 3. Then drive to Varosha back on bus for 4pm. Back to hotel by 8pm

We found the tour was far too long and the distance on the pick ups and drop offs took most of the day. The tour guide was very well informed on knowledge and gave us a lot of information. The main event was seing the ghost town, however by the time we got to it We was tired and hot. I felt the ghost town was very dissapointing we was expecting to see housing that had been evacuated on an instant in 1974 but what we saw was delapidated old buildings that was empty.

Wij deden deze trip vanuit Paphos,12u uitstap, >8u in de bus!!Vriendelijke gids maar 10u uitleg krijgen was net iets te veel voor ons.Haar Engels was niet altijd goed te begrijpen.Salamis niet erg groot.2de stop was om te gaan eten,verder daar niet veel te zien dus 1,5u voor een ventilator op een terras gezeten.De spookstad,ondanks het erge verhaal erachter, tegenvallend,je mag enkel op de nieuwe ruime baan lopen, dus buiten zicht op de kapotte gebouwen gaf het ons niet het 'spookstad'gevoel.

This was a 12 hour trip (not 8 as advertised) you should be more honest about the duration. Andrea our guide being a Greek Cypriot was very passionate and honest about the whole 1974 situation and shared some fascinating personal experiences. The Turkish guard watching us all was weird. The visit to Varosha was amazing and so interesting. The whole day was very enjoyable.

The tour itself was very interesting, the guide was excellent, very knowledgeable and informative. Felt safe at all times. The mini bus that took us on the trip was full, my only comment on this is that, we were the last to be collected, so had to sit in the last two remaining seats at the back of the bus. Neither my husband or myself are big people, but felt rather squashed. As it was a very hot day, the journey times were fairly long, it was not a very comfortable ride.

The trip itself was very good especially the walk around the Ghost Town. We are of an age that we remember the news of the invasion reported on the television and newspapers and it brought it to life. You spend quite a time on the minibus to each location, so be prepared. Also we had an issue with regards to overbooking, which was dealt with quickly and the trip carried on.

The three stops were all very interesting. The guide (Andrea) was very knowledgeable about the places visited and the history. The talks were very informative and interesting. On the negative side, we spent a lot of time on the coach (from being picked up to being dropped off was a little over 12 hours)

Excellent
Very interesting tour with a very knowledgable guide. The only negative for us was the amount of addituonal time we had to be on the bus due to stopping at multiple other hotels to pick up other guests. The trip is advertised as 8 hours but for us it was actually 12 and 3/4 hours.

As I was picked up in Pathos , it was a good 11 hour day . Yes it was value for money , but I would have liked more time at the roman ruins and more time in Famagusta deserted town , rather than a prolonged stop in Famagusta walled town. The experience just needs a bit more balance.

A Great trip, very interesting and all i can say the tour guide, drivers were excellent and very knowledgeable.. it is a long day out probably best enjoyed in the early season.

Very knowledgeable guide lots of history told including personal stories. Well organised. Would have liked more time in ghost town, this part was too rushed and so maybe, nor guided at famagusta and say only 30min there rather than 1hr perhaps or reverse the trip to do ghost town first?

The guide Chris Konstantinos was rude from the outset to us in front of the people on the bus. As we booked online we weren’t sure which end of the street we would be picked up so stood by hotel. I have a mobility issue and couldn’t walk fast to the coach. He didn’t get off the bus but berated us for being 10 minutes late.. A couple from our hotel who booked with the rep said the bus was late and only just got there. He continued to be nice with other people. He was definitely misogynistic.

The staff at the hotel very helpful and attentive. Couldn't do more. Lisa our TUI rep was very helpful, friendly and Couldn't be more attentive to everyone. To be honest cannot think of anything negative

Chris the tour guide was great, very informative and went into great detail about the island and Famagusta city tour with visits to Salamis and Varosha 'Ghost Town we had a great day .Well worth yhe money.

The tour was interesting and very informative. Chris the guide was very well informed and Claudio the driver was excellent.
From the Paphos perspective it was a very long day not returning until 8.30pm after 8.00 am start. The visit to Varosha could have been reduced by half an hour.

Coach late picking up by 25mins. Very late, 8.15pm, return to hotel. No time to get changed for dinner. Too many pick ups before starting journey. Too little time in Famagusta town. Afternoon comfort stop did not happen.

This was such an excellent tour. The Guide was knowledgeable, friendly and honest about the situation in Cyprus and her experiences. She gave excellent recommendations for lunch. We would have found it difficult to visit Northern Cyprus outside of a tour group. I’ve given it 9/10 because there’s always something to improve - I’m just not sure what!

Probably the most interesting place i have visited. My 12 year old lad also loved it. Plemty of stop offs during travel for brews and sandwiches. Good full day out.
