Natuurwonderen, prachtige stranden en sfeervolle dorpen - als het op sightseeing aankomt, heeft Kefalonia genoeg te bieden om je camera in de aanslag te houden. Op deze dagtocht met de bus zie je een aantal van de topattracties, zowel boven als onder de grond. Het meer van Melissani, de Drogarati grot, Fiskardo en Agia Efimia staan allemaal op het programma. En ook een fotostop bij de baai van Myrtos. Georgios, een van onze lokale gidsen, zegt: "Met ongeveer 250 km kustlijn heeft Kefalonia een aantal van de mooiste stranden van Griekenland. Maar als je je kunt losrukken van je ligbedje op het ongerepte zand, zul je merken dat er nog veel meer te zien en te doen is.”Je avontuur begint bij het ondergrondse meer van Melissani, waar je een boottocht maakt naar de Melissani grot. Het zonlicht dat door de opening van deze grot naar binnen schijnt, geeft het water eronder een glinsterende fluorescerende tint – prachtig om te zien. Georgios zegt: "Er zijn veel mythen en legenden over de geschiedenis van het meer. Sommigen zeggen dat het vernoemd is naar Melissanthi, wiens geest nog steeds rondwaart in de grot. Anderen beweren dat het meer werd ontdekt door een herder, die ervoor koos om de rest van zijn dagen hier door te brengen.” Ook stop je bij de nabijgelegen Drogarati grot om je te vergapen aan de stalactieten en stalagmieten.Vervolgens breng je een kort bezoek aan de haven van Agia Efimia, waarna je naar Fiskardo gaat. Hier heb je ongeveer twee uur de tijd aan jezelf om in het mondaine vissersdorp rond te struinen en souvenirs in te slaan. Of laat je verleiden door de pastelkleurige tavernes voor een heerlijk maal. Je sluit de dag af bij een uitkijkpunt met uitzicht over het strand van Myrtos. Met het helderblauwe water is het een van de meest fotogenieke plekken in Griekenland.

Nothing is perfect and neither was the day as there were unexpected delays at pick ups and as a result large queues at the caves The rep arranged for us to change the order to accommodate and save us waiting longer however that meant that by the time we saw the cave on the lake the children were very tired having been on the coach all day. So although the attraction and rep were good I'll give an overall 8 and of 10. Also feel that water should have been supplied as the weather was so hot.

Our guide Diamond and driver Demitre were fantastic But we got on the coach at Scala and it was 2 1/2 hours before we had picked everyone up to finally begin the trip and then 3 hours before our fist dtop at the caves This is much too long to expect people to sit on a coach without a stop I was told it was an hour before the first stop I would suggest a trip from the south includes only people staying tbe south do that it goes directly to the attractions 12 hour day too much and for the driver

Excellent way to see the Island as we didn’t hire a car. Time to explore a few places and knowledgeable tour guide. Nice to be able to choose whether we went to the cave and the lake and what food we ate during the day. Would definitely recommend .

Pros- great trip. Our guide (Diamond) was friendly and knowledgeable. We had plenty of time at each stop and the sites and views were fantastic. Cons - only 1x and it was due to us visiting slightly off season. We unfortunately had a lot of pick ups and ended up being out for almost 12hrs. We were picked up in Skala at 7.45, and after picking up guests from Argostoli we finally got to Drogorati Cave almost 3hrs later. The coach was a bit old so not very comfortable. Overall we had a great day.

Transport was very crampt for our trip a mini bus.we were last on and squashed in the back..we didnt go to caves as have been before.that was not a problem.the day was very wet which couldnt be helped .but our guide was amazing with lots of imformation.about the areas and local customs

Good around taster of the island and it’s amazing attractions. No negatives at all. Wonderful well organised trip.

Long journey,aware it's the only roads on island. Fiskardo lovely. Lake beautiful but in and out so quickly and too many people in boats to get nice images. Coach was half an hour late,with no explanation. A long tiring day!

Diamond was a lovely knowledgable lady . Spectacular scenery and fab driver .. Didn’t enjoy the 2 and a half hours driving to pick people up and one couple had been picked up an hour before us . It seemed to cut the time spent at other places . Lunch in Fiscardo was delicious and the place we stopped at the cafe was lovely . More time to explore would have been nice .

Enjoyed all of the trip. Diamond the guide was very good. Her approach was pragmatic in that she suggested swapping the itinerary around so that we didn’t waste time queuing for long periods due to several coaches of cruise tourists, ensuring we had maximum enjoyment at all sites. My only gripe was the minibus had limited leg room and was a little tired ( sound + ventilation)The windows were small so it was difficult to sightsee out of them particularly if the interest was on the opposite side.

The places to visit were lovely. However, because of numbers you amalgamated everyone on the island on one coach which meant that we were picking up other people for almost three hours. This is not acceptable. We had to cut short our visits to the places we visited because of this and did not get to see each place properly. It was not the fault of the guide, it was a stupid decision by someone in the office.

From pre-booking to the visit itself everything was easy. The app confirmed pick-up times and these worked as planned. The construct of the tour itself was excellent including an element of Group choice over exact order of the visits to the cave and the lake. The guide (Maria?) was brilliant - so knowledgeable, helpful and bubbly. She also had her own system for pre-booking the entrance tickets to the caves and the lake, which saved a lot of time. The driver (Nikkos?) was very skilfull!

What a waste of money. We were driven across the island to see a beach from a high view point. Next we drove to Fiskardo - had a coffee. Lunch next and then trips to Lake Melissani and the Drogarati Caves and then back to the hotel. We only spent about 45' in each of these last two locations and there isn't enough there to justify the price of 56 Euros pp. Not worth the money and next time will ask a local taxi driver!!

Fiskardo pretty village, over hyped from a tourist perspective. Preferred Agia Efimia. Myrtos Bay worth seeing great colour on the sea. Friendly gondoliers at Melissani short visit very busy attraction liked the Drogarati more. Tour guide and coach driver took the right decision to reverse the tour itinerary by going to Fiskardo first due to a cruise ship arriving at Argostoli.

Too much time on the coach and not enough on the stop off points. Although the guide was very pleasant she talked far too much, telling us things we really did not need to know. The caves were amazing but overall the day was very tiring. Driver was great.

The caves and Fiskardo was absolutely beautiful. We didn’t stay long enough in Fiskardo we would have liked to stay longer and had lunch there as it was so beautiful. We seemed to be rushing and spent far to much time on the coach and not enough time to take the scenery in and experience Kefolinia , Our guide Asha was lovely and informative. Think the trip could have been planned better as overall we spent 5 hours on the coach too long .

Our Guide was really excellent and full of interesting information. Cave steps were challenging but worth it & the lake boatman highly entertaining & enjoyable. I had problems booking tour with several help messages required. Our hotel was not listed and nowhere to enter it, consequently I missed that we needed to pay extra for the caves and underground lake. Perhaps the extra charge should be put in brackets in the title so it’s very obvious and a facility to enter hotel locations not listed.

Leuke indruk van het eiland. Echter is het te veel een busreis met te weinig lokale invloed. Breng er bijvoorbeeld bezoek aan een museum of een kerk in. Melassani vind ik een aanfluiting, veel te kort en te weinig informatie! Wel een goede chauffeur en vriendelijke gids.

Trip was amazing, caves and lake visit was awesome and the little harbour towns were great. Long time on the coach but kefalonia is so beautiful there are views throughout also our guide Diamond was so passionate and informative it kept the journey interesting. Shame the cost of the cave and lake were additional on the day making the cost of the day quite a bit more than expected.

The tour was very good but a long day in a very cramped minibus. The back row of seats were unusable in my opion as there was no leg room & the seat in front was so close you felt very claustrophobic.. two people got off immediately & didn't join the tour & the bus was still cramped.

The experience itself was enjoyable, but the transport was very disappointing. This was sold as a tour, so you would expect to be able to sit comfortably and have a clear view out of the window. Instead, the vehicle was not a coach at all but a cramped minibus, and the back seats had neither legroom nor windows. It became a scramble to re-board each time, as two guests kept changing seats. They were not familiar with the usual rule that once you have chosen a seat on a tour, it remains yours.

Had to sit at back of mini bus squashed and knees banging hard on seat in front. After a few minutes we were in pain and had to get off at the stop in Argostoli. Rep had told us it would be a bus and not a mini which was not fit for purpose. When we explained the situation to our rep he doubted we would be reimbursed and later that day left a note to confirm this. Not the sort of treatment expected from TUI.

It would be nice to have a little bit longer in Aghia Efamia. To eat lunch, do a bit of souvenir shopping and walk the seafront in an hour is a bit hectic. 1 1/2 hrs would make it easier.

We have been on many Tui trips in the past and love them. We consider it to be a most on our holidays. However, with this trip we found it very overpriced and had to pay to go into the caves separately. In the past the fee has covered entry into places like an Olive press museum and includes food and tasters. With this trip there was no food and added extras. So the expensive price just covered the bus and tour guide

The guide, Maria, was fantastic - very knowledgeable and informative. Always the added benefit of being part of a package to skip the queues. Good idea to switch the tour around, although maybe lunch in Fiskardo could have been nice.

Maria was absolutely amazing, she is such a massive asset to this experience. Makis, the driver, was excellent too. The day was the highlight of our holiday and again, Maria was a star, she did so much for us, absolutely brilliant!

Our guide Elene (I've probably spelt it wrong) was amazing! Super knowledgeable about Kefalonia and really friendly. She coordinated the trip fantastically and made sure we missed the crowds. The palces themselves were great (2nd time we've been). Good value and highly recommendable imho.

Diamond the guide was extremely knowledgeable. She was very informative and helpful. She also missed all the crowds. We did the same tour 17 years ago and the photo stop at Myrtos beach is much better.

The cost for the trip was £100 for 2 adults, we then had to pay for entry into the 2 caves which was €16 each, we then had to pay for lunch in a highly priced stop off resort. The only saving grace was the lovely tour lady who was very knowledgeable and professional and only she can get credit for this excursion.

From pick up to end it was a brilliant day Eleni and Dimitrios made sure that we had a great day they were informative, helpful and friendly. The knowledge they shared was brilliant and the way the made sure that we got the most out of the experience was excellent. I would absolutely recommend everyone does the trip.
