If your time is limited, this one day trip to the “Cotton Castle” must not be missed.Hot water rising from underground in four springs starts out at a temperature of 35C and is saturated with calcium salts and carbon dioxide. As the water cools, these salts precipitate and form the white travertine layers. Visit the Hellenistic city of Hierapolis, over 2,500 years old. Swim in Cleopatra’s spa bath amongst Roman ruins and climb the white cascades of calcium, that have formed slowly over the centuries and have come to create the natural wonder of Pamukkale.
