Istrië biedt een geweldige mix van oude kustplaatsen, met wijnranken begroeide landschappen en dorpen bovenop heuvels. Uitzichten op eilanden, goede wijn en heerlijke gerechten strijden bovendien om je aandacht. Op deze dagtocht zie je een aantal van de mooiste plekjes van Istrië, waaronder het historische dorp Bale en de schilderachtige kustplaatsen Rovinj en Poreč. Ook smul je van een lunch in een traditioneel restaurant bij Grzini. Mauro, een van onze deskundige lokale gidsen, zegt: "We pakken groots uit op deze tour. Van traditionele Batana vissersboten in de haven van Rovinj tot typische gerechten uit Midden-Istrië en de Byzantijnse Basiliek in Poreč: je krijgt echt een goed beeld van onze regio.”Je start in Bale, een bergdorp waar je slentert over geplaveide stegen die omzoomd zijn met middeleeuwse stenen huizen en Venetiaanse paleizen en kerken. Je dwaalt door het doolhof aan smalle straten van de oude binnenstad, voordat je koers zet naar Rovinj aan de Adriatische Zee. Hier is de Venetiaanse invloed alom aanwezig. Rovinj ligt op een eivormig schiereiland en is een schatkamer vol kronkelige straatjes die leiden naar de barokke kerk van Sint Eufemia, waarvan je al van ver de elegante klokkentoren ziet.Dan ga je naar het gehucht Grzini voor een typische Istrische lunch op het platteland. En na de maaltijd keer je terug naar de kust om Poreč te verkennen. Deze oude stad op een landtong is nu net zo beroemd om zijn moderne bars en clubs als zijn Eufrasiusbasiliek, een van de best bewaarde monumenten uit de vroeg-Byzantijnse tijd in het hele Middellandse Zeegebied. Niet voor niets een werelderfgoed van UNESCO.

Trip was made unnecessarily long by going for lunch at a remote farm. There are restaurants providing authentic Istrian food in Porec. Are guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic but went on non stop the entire trip which we found somewhat exhausting.

The guide we had was non stop talking with so much knowledge of everything he showed us he was excellent. We really enjoyed he's company and the places we visited. The stop off with the dinner what was with a local family was delicious. I would recommend this day out to everyone.

The whole experiance was excellent. Mauro our guide, was very funny, informative and demonstrated care and attention to detail during the entire trip. The weather was extremely hot and he was mindful to find shady areas when explaining the history of the area. The meal in Grizini, was fabulous, even though it was simple Croatian dishes. The family provided a wonderful meal that added to the trip.

Mauro, the guide, was excellent. He explained the history of the area very well and ensured all guests were safe during the trip. Rovinj in particular was a very pretty town. The lunch at the agro tourism restaurant was excellent

The tours of the towns were really informative. We enjoyed the free time to explore ourselves. The lunch was not necessary. The food was average and had to drive out of the way to get there. Would be better if the time was spent in one on the towns and you could get something to eat there in your own time.

It was a fascinating tour that packed a lot in. There was a lot of walking which left us tired (we are not young any more). The guide was extremely helpful and informative and went above and beyond the call of duty to help someone who had lost their phone.

The places we went were beautiful. The farmhouse lunch was superb. However the travelling between them was very long and the guide (who was very knowledgable) did not stop talking from the minute we got on the coach to when we got off. There is only so much you can talk about soup!!! We left the group in the end and went our own way which was lovely to explore ourselves.

Again another tour that needs rethinking. First the guide was better this time although the overall trip was too long. The trip to Bale was lovely, however we did not have sufficicient time in Rovinj and felt quite rushed. The guide made a big thing about the meal in the Agrotourism place being local specialities, however it was awful, we would have much preffered to have used that time in Rovinj and grabbed a bite to eat there. As for Porec we did not have sufficient time. Poor tour.

We liked Bale and Rovinj But feel the meal took time away from Porec and didnt add any value. We had limited time in Porec Whilst the quality of the food was ok it took tom to travel to the restaurant, time to sit down etc which could have been used more productively. Also no chance to get a drink till 2pm meant we were dehydrated Suggest you tell people to bring water We suggest take out restaurant and give more time at locations

The trip was interesting, the guide was excellent with knowledge. However we drove inland for 40 minutes to a restaurant, just over one hour for lunch and then 40 minutes back out to our final destination of Porec which left us approximately one hour to discover Porec. For such a lovely town we had very little time to see any of it. In my opinion this trip could be done without the included lunch and having more time in the two beautiful towns of Rovinj and Porec.

Very informative tour and visited some great places . Guide was very informative but there was far to much information at times and repeated several times. Some of the group switched off. There was ample time in each place but we felt the tour could have been shortened to make it more enjoyable and less long winded. Glad we went and the places are beautiful but the trip could have been shorter and still achieved the same.

I feel more information on walking bits.Far more difficult than thought. Lots of steep steps with very uneven pavements Struggled with slippery pavements and I wasn't the only one.Unsuitable for most of group who were elderly. Meal at farmhouse was most enjoyable.Guide could have havetalked less Didn't like his wellbeing monologue at the end of trip.

The lunch at a local family run farm was an added bonus and the food was delicious. There is a lot of walking and the tour lasts all day but would highly recommend.

There was not enough information given prior to the trip, i.e. there would be a number of steps to climb to visit the church, the route was prone to be slippery, it might not be suitable for those not physically able to do steps etc. The guide was good but he did not gather everyone together to speak to us, only those at the front could hear what he was saying. He went quite a way ahead of the group and did not know a member of the party had not been able to complete the step climb

If you’ve never been to Croatia before the tour guide was very informative and you learn a lot about the country.. lovely to see different places all in one day and the meal included was nice. It was very hot the day we went so we were glad we had on sensible shoes and kept hydrated

As an elderly couple we weren’t warned of the staircase to the church in Rivinj, my Wife only got half way before collapsing and receiving help from a shop keeper who provided a seat and water. I struggled on to find the guide to inform him of the situation. His reply was to get back to the main square and wait for the group to return. A very scary situation.

Both our guide and driver were most helpful, as my friend has to use a wheelchair, they were both supported in this. The information we were given throughout the trip was informative, but not too intrusive. Again most helpful with were to push the wheelchair due to steps etc.

Our guide Mauro was excellent - friendly and very knowledgeable. The tour ran to time and was very well managed. The driver was superb too. The locations were wonderful. The lunch stop, although very pleasant, was too far away. We would have preferred the trip to have included more time in Porec or Rovinj.

Service with the food was quick but the attentiveness wasn’t there no water top up on the table only one glass to drink from and because we stopped there which was out of the way it then gave you less free time on the visits which I think you needed to really appreciate what you were visiting

An absolutley fantastic day. Our guide was perfect in every way. Telling us all the history but at a good pace so we could digest each fact. Three very different stops at each place. Rovinj was like stepping onto the Italian riviera but you are on Croatia. Porec was quoted but just as inpressive Lunch at the family farm was outstanding this was definitely a highlight. The welcome drinks and toast being home made it even more special. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area.

Not many places to walk to get a drink. Beach wasn't good. The hotel itself is beautiful. The only thing that let's it done is the food. Everything is cold. Even breakfast if we went down at 7. There is a pool bar. But if you wanted anything to eat during day, you had to go up to lobby to order. They would do better if you could order from pool bar.

well it rained a lot but that can't be helped, tower on the hill at Rovinj made this trip but its 189 wooden steps and 17 levels so you need to be able to handle that but worth it Bale is pretty but boring especially in the rain Porec bit dull and the rain put us off, was very expensive for drinks a cocktail and 2 G&Ts 37 euros The food at the family place was ok, you wont starve best part is the soup. Mario our guide was lovely, very knowledgeable

The guide Maulo was excellent. He was hugely knowledgeable and paced the tour to cater for all passenger abilities in challenging weather conditions. The only negatives were out of TUI's control e.g. passengers getting drunk on the tour.

We had a exceptional day. From start to finish every second was brilliant. The scenery and views were amazing and our tour guide, who i think was called Mauro,was an encyclopedia of knowledge. What an amazing man,he really made the day. I would really recommend this tour to anyone. Yes,quite a lot of walking but well worth it.

Tin was a very knowledgeable guide who took time to answer questions & provide recommendations while we had free time. Davor was a great driver, we felt very safe all the time. Everything was good. Guide very good and excellent English. Food excellent. One issue the walk on cobbled stones to the church was very hard going up and down. Asked guide and he said keep going if you can but he did say how far and steep the walk was. Maybe more details about the trip could be advertised or reps in resort should inform guests. We did enjoy the trip.

Guide (Mauro) was very knowledgeable and managed to keep the tour stops to the allotted times, driver (Eddie) gave a very smooth journey. For the meal the Gluten free desert option was just an apple with a knife, maybe a fruit salad would have been a nicer option.

The trip was very good, the tour guide Tin, was very informative, the only downside, is that we didn't know what we were eating before we went, so both my husband and i dont like pasta. So recommend telling people before they go what the meal is. Plus a lot of people said it was luke warm.

Why take almost 3 hours out of the day to have lunch? It was such a waste of time. We didn't have enough time in Rovinj or Porec. We could have had so much more if we had stopped for the lunch on the way to Porec or even had it in Rovinj or Porec. The food wasn't even that great, very heavy. I would have expected enough time to go into Basilica in Porec, such a waste to not have enough time to do so. It was very disappointing and marred the whole trip.

Tin the guide was so full of knowledge and enthusiasm and had a great personality. He has years of experience and knows what info to share (and what not). Sceptical of the lunch stop but no need. Food basic but well cooked and tasty. Plenty to go round. Was a long day but well worth it.

Bale was nice enough but would have preferred more time in Rovinj and Porec. Porec especially rushed. Lunch was very nice Would recommend the trip and Rovinj and Porec are really beautiful places. First stop Bale is nice enough but not really anything to see and felt time would have been better spnet elsewhere Well worth doing the trip however and would certainly recommend

Knowledge of our guide was excellent ,he made it such an amazing experience. Enjoyed our lunch ,people there were so welcoming ,good to taste home cooked local fare . Nothing negative to say at all .Tin our guide was so helpful + happy ,he managed a very big group extremely well.

You took us inland 50 minutes drive to a restaurant in the middle of nowhere for nearly 2 hours for an average meal and then a 50 minute drive to Porech wasting valuable time that we could have had in Rojinj and Porech where we had an hour of free time in each, it wasn't long enough at all

Great day out. Just the right amount of guided tours and free time each place. Beautiful places, excellent narration. Bojan was an excellent guide and the driver Andrea gave us the perfect drive. Highly recommend this trip

Really friendly guide..lovely clean and modern coach Beautiful places visited & lunch setting restaurant amazing. Just a shame not able to have more free time in Porec..although wouldnt of missed the sight seeing walk with guide.amazing informative guide and his jokes along the route added a fun filled trip..Many thanks x

The tour was interesting although we did struggle to hear the guide at times. It was very expensive for what it was especially when the lunch was so poor, it was awful, the meat was really fatty along with the dishes being tasteless and bland. I didn’t see the point of taking us to the Basilica, we had 20 minutes and it was an extra €30 each which was not mentioned on booking.

We were not informed how much walking was involved & there were no times for a coffee break for the first 4 hours of the tour, and walking in 30degree heat up hills etc., not enjoyable at all I felt that we had wasted our money on the trip, the tour guide was very knowledgeable but the walking was far to much if we had been informed prior we could have saved ourselves over £160 by not doing this trip.
