La leggenda narra che Dio piangeva perché Lucifero gli aveva rubato un angolo di cielo e che dove cadevano le sue lacrime divine prosperavano le viti del Lacryma Cristi".Per prima cosa, si viaggia in autobus lungo i fianchi del Vesuvio fino a 1.000 metri di altitudine. Il vulcano si staglia sul Golfo di Napoli e fu un'enorme eruzione a seppellire Pompei nel 79 d.C.. I terreni vulcanici sono estremamente fertili, il che spiega perché l'area intorno al vulcano è stata popolata per millenni. Una volta lasciato l'autobus, il viaggio verso il cratere si concluderà a piedi. Dalla cima si gode di una vista mozzafiato sulla baia, per cui è consigliabile portare con sé la macchina fotografica.Dopo la visita al cratere, scopriremo tutto ciò che c'è da sapere sul vino Lacryma Cristi, coltivato sulle pendici del vulcano. Visiterete la cantina e imparerete come il terreno e il clima unici creino condizioni di coltivazione ideali, dando vita a vini che riflettono il terroir. Guide very informative throughout the trip. Allowed to walk up Mount Versuvius at own speed and time given (approx 2hrs) was ample at a steady pace. Views were stunning. Meal at Vineyard excellent, wine tasting & tour of VY very good. Shuttle from hotel to pick up point good but wait on return journey for shuttle to hotel disappointing after waiting 40 mins in 32° heat. Which was the only negative on an excellent experience and probably no fault of TUI.

Good trip. Views from top of Mount Versuvious are amazing but don’t expect too much from the crater itself. Vineyard trip was enjoyable even if the wine tasting was a bit rushed. Our table missed out on one of the varieties because we drank too slowly! Nice lunch though.

Le repas au vignoble pourrait-être une simple dégustation de vins, les plats proposés n'ont rien d'exceptionnels, un simple assortiment de jambons, fromages,... locaux aurait été tout aussi intéressant pendant la dégustation qu'un plat de spaghettis aux tomates sans même un peu de parmesan.

Guide was very enthusiastic. Didn't enjoy the hard sell limoncello stop. The transport was shocking, little or no air conditioning and all on board were clearly very close to heat exhaustion, with no water or help offered.

Our driver and tour guide were fabulous. The trip to Vesuvius and walk around the crater was enjoyable. The vineyard experience was disappointing. We had booked one previously to another vineyard and it was really enjoyable. Well organised with a good amount of wine served with each course and good descriptions of the wines given. This unfortunately was not our experience with this. Food was okay to disappointing. Wine service rushed. Very small amounts served. Very disappointing. Poor value.

It was quite a long coach trip, the earliest passengers to be picked up ended up being in the coach for 3 hours before arriving at Vesuvius. It was overwhelmingly hot the day of our trip which made the climb hard but can’t help the weather. The food at the vineyard was lovely & the chance to taste the wine appreciated. Obviously a “sales” pitch but it wasn’t made overbearing which was appreciated. Guide was lovely & helpful.

The walk up Vesuvius was fantastic. The food was great, however wine was not for everyone, we would have preferred to experience non-alcholic wine options! We would have happily bought the wine vinegar however it was massively expensive. The WC facilities were disgusting -unclean and stunk!

The whole experience was fascinating and a big tick off the bucket list as we made it!! The only change we'd suggest is having longer from the bus drop-off point of 45 minutes each way to reach the crater itself. After the bus journey, it then felt rushed to have on an exciting but obviously steep, experience with just 45 minutes to do it, so it would've been better to allow an hour instead. Other guests said they didn't even manage to reach the top and we're not unfit even if older.

Guide poor English struggling to explain, with limited information. We couldn't see anything the weather was forecast lighting but wasn't cancelled, we had torrential rain. The guide could have spent time describing what we should have seen but remained on the bus. The man in charge of portable toilets wouldn't let the huge queue of women use the ones labelled men, even though they were the same or the disabled toilet without a disabled pass. The vineyard we didn't see, food bland poor service.

Great informative guide with interesting stop on bus ride up Vesuvius where we tried different Limoncellos which was an unexpected bonus. Last part steep walk which was expected and so worth the view and crater at the top. The lunch and wine tasting stop afterwards was lovely and very informative. Also enjoyed seeing where they produced and bottled it.

Vesuvius itself was very good but a bit more time there would have been good. Lunch and wine tasting was good. We spent a lot of time on the coach especially dropping people off at remote hotels on the way back. The guide spoke good English but with a pronounced accent which wasn't always easy to hear.

Good mix of time at stop off and time on Vesuvius followed by lunch. Perhaps need a little more time on Vesuvius especially for those who are not fit. Lunch was excellent with various wines from local vineyard . Could have survived without the pasta course as don’t usually have much lunch myself. Quite a long time on coach dropping people off around Sorento hotels but cannot see how this can be made any more efficient.

Vesuvius is beautiful and always worth the trip. The food at the vineyard was out of this world and the wine tasting was nice. My only complaint would be that it’s like a conveyor belt to get tours in and out as fast as possible. The owner pops up every so often to talk to the group, but the tasting and tour are handled by staff. Obviously they want to sell their wine to you, but it wasn’t much of a tour being marched around and then loaded onto a bus and sent off. The TUI guide was great.

Our guide Luciana was excellent, very informative, helpful and friendly. The Vesuvius experience was good, but it would have been helpful to know beforehand how steep and long the trek to the top was. Vineyard lunch afterwards was excellent, food delicious and wine tasting superb. Really recommend.

We loved the full day and experience although the vineyard felt rushed. We hadn’t finished our wine before someone was trying to top the glass up. First world problems eh? On a serious note, a little more time to enjoy the experience would be good. A few tips if you are doing this that you are not told. The path up and down is full of pebbles and rocks. The dust gets all over your trainers/shoes. Take an older pair or a change of shoes with you for your visit to the vineyard after.

Good tour that goes at the right pace for all ages . The guide was very knowledgeable on the region and the coach driver was very skilled in threading through the fantastically chaotic traffic on the narrow roads. The walk up vesuvius was less challenging than anticipated but it's very busy most of the time, great views everywhere. Nice reward at the summit a local glass of wine for €2. The winery was very good the owner and staff are excellent hosts serving lovely food and wines. Well worth it

Our guide was amazing, very knowledgeable as she was born in Sorrento and has lived in the area her whole life. The walk up Vesuvius was steep in some places but well worth it. The vineyard was beautiful with stunning views of Vesuvius and the Bay of Naples. Food was delicious and we tasted more wines than I thought we would, there is a shop next door for you to buy any you particularly like. All in all a fabulous day, would highly recommend.

We absolutely loved this trip! Worth every penny! We made it right to the top of the volcano, seeing the most breathtaking sights of both Vesuvius and Naples. There were cafes along the way and the most amazing visit to a local families shop where we tried their freshly made produce. The vineyard lunch was incredible, wine tasting and the yummiest food. We got to look around the wine cellars and learn all about the processes. The staff were funny, engaging and very helpful.

The Mount Vesuvius 1.40 mins hike was fantastic, the first 20 minute climb was very steep, wear sensible shoes, but once you get to the crater, its easier, the views are amazing. Stopped at a shack on the way which is not needed on the tour, wasted 45 minutes. Tat shop selling Limoncello. Portable loo's, cleaner WC's on the Volcano. Lunch at the Vineyard was okay. However, it makes the day extremally long (9:00am- 5:30 back to hotel). Parts of the Vineyard tour not needed and should be cut.

A great trip! We enjoyed our short walk up to the crater where you can sit and enjoy the views at the cafe (pretty cheap!). Our guide surprised us with a free local taste tasting - tasty lacquers to try. Our favourite part was definitely the wine tasting and lunch at the vineyard. Stunning views and pretty delicious food and drink. One of my favourite trips we have done here in Italy, would definitely recommend! One note is that the roads are very windy and narrow, not great for travel sickness!

Lunch and wine tasting was a bit rushed for us though we are Italian and when in Italy you should never rush food. A bit too carby for my personal taste. Wine was okay but again, we're used to good wines direct from vineyards in Sicily. The TUI guide was kind and friendly as well as amusing. So too was the guide that gave us a tour of the vineyard. Vesuvius was a must see but wait for a guided tour, it is free and makes the visit much more meaningful.

Excellent all round, David the guide was great, informative and helpful with a great sense of humour. Veruvius is hard work and anyone who is slightly unfit might struggle to get to the crater however...I'd say go...walk to where you can get to and enjoy views and take your pics. The wine tasting was great fun, the staff knowledgeable and service excellent. The food was fab too. All in all great day & definitely worth the money.

A good well organised tour with good communication - the guide sent text updates on coach arrival. Climbing Mount Vesuvius was a wonderful experience. The vineyard lunch was pleasant and relaxing after the climb. Downsides are that the coach air conditioning was very poor - passengers said that we were sweatier in the coach than when climbing Vesuvius. Windows in the coach were cloudy so we could not see the views being pointed out by the guide. The driver was aware.

The tour itself is very good. I think there needs to be a warning about the walk up Vesuvius. Even for regular walkers we found it hard in the heat. Once up the top we didn’t realise the time needed to descend and had to rush - the ground is very slippery with loose gravel and we nearly fell several times. Being under a time restriction put more pressure on us so would not recommend for others. The tour guide and bus driver where excellent

My husband had knee problems, but still managed the 30 min, steep, sometimes slippery walk. Well organised. Poor air con on bus. Good, experienced driver. Food good, deli plate, fresh pasta with tomatoes. Efficient staff. Poor explanation about wine, small wine sample with little info. Great fun chatting to others on tour.

I thought the two experiences was excellent. The only improvements I would suggest is to advise people that thec200 metre walk to the top of Mount Vesuvius is not a medium walk and is definitely not 200 metres. The paths are tricky and steep, which was not explained and my husband could not make the top in the time allowed. The vineyard meal was lovely but the ve we had an area outside which would have made the meal excellent with the experience of being outside instead of a room.

The pick up was on time and the driver was very good. The road going up Vesuvious is steep with long drops but we felt that we were in safe hands. The courier was great fun and very knowledgeable about the whole Campania region, the eruption in 79AD and the consequences for the cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum. The lunch at the vineyard was excellent. We sampled five different wines which were all very good. A very good day out.

Viewing Vesuvius was an amazing experience. It was a difficult climb and very dusty. My choice of white trainers was not my best! Lunch at the vineyard was excellent lovely food and excellent wine. The guide was excellent and kept us well informed.

Another fantastic day out organised by Tui. Made special by our guide Salvatorre - what a legend :-) And the brave driver Miguel! After the long drive (traffic) to Vesuvius, the drive to the top is a bit hair raising, so we were more than glad we were in Miguel's safe hands than attempting it ourselves. The walk to the top is steep but worth it. Great experience to be at the top of the smoking volcano. The winery lunch was fab too - great food and wine! Great trip all round.

The bus guide Alex was very good had excellent knowledge of the area and was also entertaining too. The bus driver was also very good and very skilled especially for the dangerous roads he kept us safe. The vineyard was a bonus to the trip the owner was lovely. Food and wine were Belissimo!

The overall experience was excellent, the guide and driver were very good. The pickup and dropoff point for out hotel is not good, a fifteen minute walk often along a busy road with no footpath and vehicles speeding past, even worse in the rain and dark. We also experienced over 45 minutes of delays at other pickup points, 30 minutes at one alone. These issues need to be addressed.

Excellent all round. Informative and very helpful guide. Fascinating experience followed by a pleasant lunch with charming hosts. I don't think it needs the Limoncello stop.

Umberto was an excellent guide - very professional and knowledgeable. The bus driver made us feel very safe on the winding mountain road. The wine tasting meal and tour was really good also and a great complement to the volcano tour.

Not enough time to complete the walk to the top of the crater. Very grulling hike in 30 degree temperature . Had we realised it was as tough s it was we would have hired walking sticks that were available The vineyard experience is excellent

Die Zeit auf dem vesuv ist leider viel zu kurz. Man hat 90 Minuten insgesamt. Der Aufstieg dauert etwa 30 Minuten. Abstieg auch. Somit bleiben 30 Minuten auf dem vesuv. Wenn man etwas trinken möchte, oder ein Souvenir shoppen, dann muss man dies auch in dieser Zeit erledigen. Etwa 30 Minuten mehr Zeit sollten es da schon sein. Achtung: Aufstieg ist recht steil, man sollte daher fit sein. Das Weingut besticht mit leckerem Wein und köstlichem Essen.

Going up Mount Vesuvius was hard going but well worth it, just needed more time to enjoy views. The vineyard on the way back was very good with wine tasting and delicious food.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stop on the way to try Lemoncello. The walk up Vesuvius was quite hard but worth the effort. The lunch was a little disappointing, as was the vineyard as we just had wine with lunch rather than a tasting session. The coach driver was great, as was the guide.

Your guide was fantastic - very knowledgeable and very entertaining. The lunch was also very good. The only downside was the wine tasting element of the day - the tasting was very limited and didnt offer any opportunity to buy additional beverages or wine.
