Strolling through Nessebar is perhaps the most culturally enriching experience on Bulgaria's Black Sea coast. This headland, known as the ‘Pearl of the Black Sea', is only slightly larger than the Vatican City yet has many more churches. Ivaylo, one of our expert local guides, says, "Nessebar is a living museum – there are monuments here that were built as far back as the 5th century. Due to its strategic location, the town has always been a busy merchant hub. This is why it was here, over 2,500 years ago, that money was invented and first used for trade."You'll begin with a guided walking tour of the old town, which is crammed onto a narrow peninsula jutting out into the Black Sea. Historians know that there's been a town here for 3,200 years, making it among Europe's oldest. There's so much history packed into the old town that Nessebar is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Relics from the second millennium BC, from classical antiquity and the Middle Ages have been unearthed. There's evidence here that reflects the architectural progress of the whole Balkan and East Mediterranean regions.Winding streets and alleys fringed with characterful timber homes lead you to more than 40 churches dating back as far as Byzantine times. There's also some free time to explore the town on your own, soak up the scenery on a seaside stroll or browse for souvenirs.

C’est tjrs trop court mais c’est mieux que rien. Je n’étais pas seule et la majorité n’était pas intéressée par les vins bulgares et leur histoire. Pendant le temps libre 1h, j’ai eu le temps de voir 3 sites dont l’entrée était payante mais c’était vraiment dérisoire. Je suis consciente d’être en soif d’apprendre et je me passe de manger pour voir des sites que je ne reverrai plus.

Firstly the rep told us incorrect pick up point. I had to see him again to confirm pickup location. The tour lasted approx 1hr 15 mins. Left too much time to explore town. 2hrs One hr would of been plenty of time

Geen Nederlandse gids was wel belooft en wat rond toeren en dan ergens aan een plasje wat spelletjes doen wat eigelijk voor kinderen is en de lunch was ondermaats zelfs water vragen en geen krijgen nee dat voor 60€ is de mensen bestelen sorie zeer slecht

Thoroughly enjoyed this trip! The guide was very informative about all aspects of Nessebar and it's history. He was very clear with instructions and pick up/drop off went smoothly. There was also a stop made for wine tasting as part of the trip, which offered since beautiful views as well. Would definiately recommend.

Es war sehr interessant. Es lohnt sich unbedingt. Was mir nicht so gut gefallen hat ist, dass wenn die Anzahl der Teilnehmer zu groß ist, man nicht alles Gesagte gut hören kann. Vielleicht würde ein Mikro oder Guides helfen.

Autokar i kierowca ok. Przewodnik slaby zarówno jezykowo jak i merytorycznie. Wycieczka slabo zaplanowana - czas trwania to 4 godz. (wyjazd o 8.50, powrót o 13.15), z czego ok 30 min to transfer i 1 godz czas wolny. Zadnych wstepów do muzeów (mozna choc byloby zaproponowac 1 najciekawsza z kilku cerkwi). Zamiast tego degustacja win - niby ok, ale wtedy lepiej zeby odbylo sie to popoludniowa pora, a nie o 11. Ogólnie rozczarowanie. Lepiej pojechac indywidualnie i zwiedzic to piekne miejsce.

Sehr guter Führer in Nessebar. Im Bus Erklärung auf drei verschiedenen Sprachen, jedoch jeweils unterschiedliche Themen z.B.: Deutsch: Fokus auf Kirchengeschichte; Holländisch: politische Hintergründe; Englisch: touristische Entwicklung; Freie Zeit mit knapp 1,5 Stunden in Nessebar zu kurz.

Our guide was great! He had a great sense of humour while telling us all about the history of Bulgaria and the town. Der Hinweis auf die Bushaltestelle für die Abholung war etwas ungenau. Der Reiseführer hat zeitgleich in zwei Sprachen (Deutsch und Niederländisch) die Tour gemacht. Das ist etwas anstrengend beim Zuhören. Nessebar als Ort hat durch die vielen Souvenirläden und Stände etwas charmelos gewirkt.

I detta fallet så var det skönt att utflykten inte var så lång (3 timmar) eftersom det var varmt. Vi anser att guiden kunde i slutet av den guidade turen rekommenderat lite butiker eller ställen man kunde köpt dricka på och inte bara rekommenderat vinställen. Eller om guiden kunde delat ut en karta över Nessebar så man kunde hittat lite mer för nu använde vi Google Maps för att hitta.

I feel it would helpful for you to send your ground staff on the tours they are selling, so they know what they are selling. Although, very accommodating and kind the tour was not as sold and the person doing the actual tour was ill informed. We spent more money getting home with a taxi and the the tour was not as sold.

Het was erg interessant, een mooie rondleiding en een gids die er erg veel over afwist. Ik kon moeilijker overweg met het principe "with or without you". na de rondleiding.... trek je plan als je niet tijdig terug bent. Ook jammer dat je s' morgens vroeg direct een glas wijn krijgt bij khan's tent.... heel mooie stop mooie locatie, top idee, maar wijn s'morgens.... en ook het toilet betalend aan 1€ vind ik erg veel. verder heel leerzaam, erg mooi en een halve dag is ruim voldoende

While the tour and the town is incredible i gave this rating as I was left with a child with no lift back to hotel stuck in a foreign place. Had to take a taxi back. Contacted main office advised to contact agent whose name i don't know and don't even have a number. Extremely dissapointed and will not use your services again.

Honestly, the guide was very hard to listen to because he was very monotonous. We visited 4 or 5 locations where he talked to us about general history for 15 minutes each time with no where to sit in 33°C heat in middle of the day. He wasn't very enthusiastic and unfortunately felt the "guided part" was more intense history lesson than anything else. The town itself is gorgeous and worth a visit. Maybe with a more enthusiastic guide it would be enjoyable to listen to history for 1.5 hours

Sehr freundlicher Guide, der umfangreiche Informationen zu den besuchten Spots geteilt hat. Von der Abholung bis zur Rückfahrt war alles gut organisiert. Die Tour eignet sich nicht so gut für Familien mit Kindern. Für diese ist sie zu zäh und die Inhalte überfordern die Kids.

More info about cobblestone streets would have been useful, lots of big holes uneven walkways through town. I have a bad knee which made me very cautious about where we were going - had to continually look down

The old Town ist ein wunderschönes Fleckchen Erde auf diesen Planeten. Es wurde von den vielen Kirchen mit dem wundervollen Baustil berichtet, jedoch nicht viel über die Menschen gesagt. Im Grunde ein guter Ausflug. Wir selbst sind mit dem Wassertaxi zurückgefahren und haben den Bus für die Rücktour nicht genutzt. Die Abholung war sehr pünktlich, die gesamte Organisation allerdings verbesserungsfähig.

Wycieczka slabo zorganizowana w stosunku do ceny. Wyruszylismy z opóznieniem, gdyz dwie osoby nie przyszly na czas na miejsce zbiórki, wiec potem autokar krazyl miedzy hotelami, zeby ich odebrac. Pilotka powinna dzwonic do ludzi, zeby sprawdzic, co sie z nimi dzieje. Potem wycieczka w biegu, bo umówieni bylismy na degustacje win. Tu za duzo nie dali nom popróbowac. Decent little trip, extremely pretty area and the guide really gave us a sense of the turbulent history of the place that shaped it into the cultural melting pot that it is today. Do be aware that religion founded this area and it was what it was built on so the tour is naturally church-centric. If you’re not bothered about this I’d advise the pure shopping based trips.

Vi hade en fantastisk semester och det fungerade så smidigt att boka via TUI. Detta gällande allt från info, när vi beställde en extra tur under resan och när jag hade någon fråga kunde jag chatta och få svar. En väldigt positiv upplevelse. Det som om möjligt drog ner toppresultatet är nog mer gällande att hissarna på hotellet var usla och att flygplatsen inte är anpassad för alla resenärer till Sunny Beach, lite kaos på tillbakaresan på flygplatsen.
