The knockout natural beauty of eastern Madeira is in the spotlight on this full day tour. You'll have your head in the clouds at Pico do Areeiro, walk next to cute, thatched houses in Santana, have lunch at Quinta do Furão and step back in time at Ponta de São Lourenço. Joana, one of our expert local guides, says, "The lunch spot is a real treat, sitting on top of the cliffs overlooking the dramatic coast of northern Madeira. Take some time to stroll in the gardens and vineyards, it's a special place."You'll first be whisked up above the clouds to the towering Pico do Areeiro lookout point – offering amazing views from 1,810m above sea level. Next, we'll head for the mountainside gem of Santana, a village that's home to the distinctive straw-thatched houses famous throughout Madeira. Cute and colourful, these triangular homes look like something out of a fairytale. We'll have lunch here before being whisked off for more adventures.On a visit to a traditional sugar cane processing mill in Porto da Cruz, you'll find out about an industry that has long been a mainstay of Madeira's economy. Joana says, "One of the most important crops on the island is sugarcane, and today the processing factory is still in full operation mainly producing rum and honey molasses as it has since 1927. We'll try some of their rum as part of our visit." The final stop will lead you to Ponta de São Lourenço, one of the wildest places in Madeira, right on the easternmost point of the island. What is the itinerary for this experience? The itinerary for this experience is...- 8:30am to 9:30am – hotel pick‑ups in Funchal and Caniço- 9:30am to 10:20am – drive to Pico do Arieiro and stop for a visit- 10:20am to 11:00am – continue the drive to Ribeiro Frio and stop for a visit- 11:00 am to 12:00pm – reach Santana village and stop by the typical thatched houses- 12:00pm to 1:45pm – lunch at Quinta do Furão- 1:45pm to 2:35pm – drive to Porto da Cruz village and visit the local sugar cane factory- 2:35pm to 3:30pm – continue to Ponta de São Lourenço and stop- 3:30pm to 4:15pm – return to Caniço and Funchal- 4:15pm to 5:00pm – drop‑offs at hotels Please note, the times and schedule may vary on the day

Es war eine Kaffeefahrt, die Produkte an den unterschiedlichen Orten verkaufen will. Es gab keinerlei Erklärung bspw. beim Rumtasting oder irgendwelche Informationen zur Forellenzucht. Dieser Stop war besonders verwirrend, da die Forellenzucht nicht ersichtlich war. Was da war, waren 3 Souvenirshops, die Umsatz machen wollten und lange Schlangen an der Toilette (genauso am Pico do Arieiro).

Es war eine sehr gut vorbereitete Tour. Trotz Regen hat es riesen Spaß gemacht. Der Busfahrer verdient bei diesem Auf und Ab, vielen Kurven und engen Straßen eine Goldmedaille. Die Tour ist sehr empfehlenswert. Vielen Dank

Leider war uns das Wetter nicht hold und so mussten wir Monte auslassen , da es geschneit hatte und die Strassen gesperrt waren. Wir haben dann Ersatz stops gehabt. Ich habe mich gefreut ganz oben mal zu sein, hat leider nicht geklappt. In Santana sind die Häuser schön, sind alle nachgebaut, keine Originale. Insgesammt war der Ausflug schön.

The coach was unsuitable for anyone I would suggest over 5' 8" in height as I had to sit sideways to fit me knees in. The lunch was of a very poor standard as there were 2 coaches ahead of us leaving us to have what was left. I was only given half a ladle of soup and half a glass of red wine,I asked for a soft drink for my son but it never arrived. The remaining food quality was poor. We did the West coast ltrip last year which was really enjoyable and value for money, unlike this East trip.

Auf Grund des Wetters konnte der Pico do Arieiro nicht besucht werden, vom Veranstalter wurde kurzfristig ein Ersatz angeboten Während der gesamten Tour gab es zweisprachig Informationen über Land und Leute - sehr positiv angekommen

We enjoyed the commentary, Dolores was excellent. We didn’t enjoy the speed the bus travelled at, rather fast for the type of roads. Seemed to be trying to make time up after a delayed start.

Der Ort der Abholung wurde nicht eindeutig angegeben. Mitgeteilt wurden zwei Abholpunkte, was verwirrend war. Die Poncha-Verkostung und das dazugehörige Areal waren überflüssig. Ansonsten eine sehr interessante und informative Tour.

Enjoyed all we were absolutely exhausted at the end and could see that even the younger element on the trip were shattered as well. Also two of the tour fell asleep in the hotel after lunch and kept the coachload waiting for half an hour. This should not have happened and the coach should have left without them. We were tired wanted to finish the trip and get back to our hotel. We were last off the coach and being 82 then having to walk back from the coach station to our hotel was just too much.

napisze krótko, Przewodnik taki jak pani Laura to skarb tej wyspy dla Polaków i innych nacji ponieważ jej wiedza jest dużo większa niż mogła by się wydawać i myślę iż większość rodowitych mieszkańców nie ma tak obszernej wiedzy jak ona. jej podejście do dzieci pełen profesjonalizm i tyle. tak samo kierowcy to mega profesjonaliści .

We enjoyed our trip in spite of no view at the viewpoint due to the weather. The meal was very good with an opportunity to sample scabbard fish which was delicious. We did not go into the trout farm as the cost was a bit high for a very short visit. Enjoyed walking the coastal path at the rum distillery and tasting the rum! Monica was very informative and interesting and the trip enabled us to see a lot of the countryside.

Insgesamt ein unvergessliches Erlebnis!!! Hervorragender Guide(Monica) und Fahrer (Carlos)!!! Vielleicht das Zeitverhältnis Berg- Forellenzucht /Cafe zugunsten des Berdes verändern. Ansonsten war es der absolute Knaller (allerdings hatten wir auch bestes Wetter!) Die Erwartungen wurden übertroffen!!!

Great day out.The driver of the coach Felipe and our guide Monica were excellent. Lunch at the restaurant was very nice and the staff very friendly and courteous. Lots of photo opportunities of lovely views and frequent stops a long the way! The rum tasting was fun but be aware it is very strong!An enjoyable day out and I would recommend this tour.

Busfahrer und Reiseführerin waren freundlich und kompetent. Brachten Land und Leute gut nahe. Programm war recht komprimiert aber zu verkraften. Die verschiedenen Landschaften waren alle sehr reizvoll, zeigten Vielfalt und Schönheit der Insel.

Es war eine sehr schöne und informative Tour. Auf dem Berg war es sehr kalt, aber das wusste man ja schon vorher und konnte sich entsprechende Bekleidung mitnehmen. Von der Landschaft kann man nicht genug sehen, Suchtgefahr.??

Unser Guide war großartig und der Fahrer absolute Spitzenklasse,wir mußten ca 2 km zurücksetzen um nach einem Steinschlag,welcher die Straße versperrte, wenden zu können.Die Tour im allgemeinen bot wunderschöne Aussichten ,das Essen war prima ,die Stationen für Pausen gut gewählt.Schönes Rundumpaket,danke dafür

It was all very good, I didn’t care for the steep incline at the first stop but it was worth it once I managed to do it. The traditional old little houses in Santana are beautiful, and the history behind these little houses is very interesting. Our bus driver Rueban was fantastic, I had a bad leg and he helped me off the bus at every stop.

De trip was fantastisch. De buschauffeur een bedreven bestuurder en de gids sprak perfect Engels en wist heel veel over het eiland te vertellen. De stops waren op mooie plekken en we hadden genoeg tijd om alles te bekijken. De lunch was iets minder maar dat heeft de dag niet minder geslaagd gemaakt.

Reiseleiterin und Busfahrer top. Wir haben uns zu jeder Zeit sicher gefühlt. Wir haben sehr viele interessante Informationen über Madeira bekommen. Auf die Wetterumstände wurde gut reagiert . Einziger Kritikpunkt beim Rumtasting, dort hätte man etwas freundlicher sein können.

Eine tolle Reiseführerin, die Führung war sehr informativ, wir haben viel über die Insel erfahren. Das Mittagessen durften wir an einem sehr schönen Lokation zu uns nehmen, die wunderschöne Aussicht hat zu einem kleinen Spaziergang nacg dem Mittagessen eingeladen. Der Ausflug war wirklich schön und ist sehr empfehlenswert. Vielen Dank für die Orgabisation!

The tour was long for very little time in each stop other than lunch. Weather stopped us going to first stop in mountains, roads too bendy for me as I suffer from travel sickness. Guide was great and moved me to front of coach which helped. Places visited could have been longer or more informative.

Inderdaad een aanrader: minimaal 5 bezienswaardigheden op 1 dag bezocht; aandacht voor plaatselijke cultuur, tradities en geschiedenis, waar nog veel over te lezen valt! Madeira is een betoverend mooi eiland en bezit een prachtige ongerepte natuur.

Wir kannten Madeira bereits von 2 Reisen (1995 und 2007). Die Tour hatte für uns also keinen Überraschungseffekt. Wir wollten - jetzt 84 bzw. 85 Jahre alt - mit dieser Tour alte Erinnerungen auffrischen, die wir vor Jahren z.T. noch per Pedes gemacht haben. Und leider hingen am Arieiro dichte Wolken! Fernsicht also "Null".

Leerrijke uitleg van de gids over de geschiedenis van het eiland, over bepaalde plekjes en de flora die we onderweg tegenkwamen. Smakelijk middagmaal met de befaamde lelijke maar zeer zachte lekkere vis met banaan. Het rum bezoek was interesant op fotogenieke lokatie maar de aangeboden artikelen zijn goedkoper terug te vinden in de lokale supermarkt. Goede en voorzichtige vrouwelijke bestuurder.

Mooie natuur en veel gezien van het land.Alleen was het erg langdradig met 2 talen. Eerst Engels en daarna Duits, was teveel.
