Larger-than-life Lanzarote legend Cesar Manrique left his imprint all over the island, but nowhere more so than the north. The architect was inspired by the region's extraordinary geology. This tour takes in three of his works – the Green Caves, Jameos del Agua and Mirador del Rio. David, one of our local guides, says, ‘The north of the island was a canvas for Manrique's palette. As he used to say, “the north is still the traditional Lanzarote.”First up are the Green Caves, where a maze of galleries and stairways lead you to a natural auditorium. These caverns – 16 have been discovered so far – are air bubbles that are linked by a tunnel created by the lava flow from a volcanic eruption. Manrique was instrumental in adapting the cave system for visitors. His influence is even more pronounced in the Jameos del Agua. Here, he harmonised this roofless volcanic cave, adding rock gardens and a glassy lake, filled with blind, white crabs found only in Lanzarote.Also on the agenda is Mirador del Rio, one of Manrique's most sci-fi creations. Not only does this viewpoint blend in seamlessly with its surroundings atop a 470m cliff, but it boasts wow-factor vistas across to the island of La Graciosa. Next, you'll head to Haria, an oasis of green known as the “Valley of a Thousand Palms,” scattered with whitewashed houses and surrounded by peaks. Here, you'll sit down for a lunch made from locally sourced ingredients in a typical Canarian house.

This should have been a half day trip! We visited both cave sites in the morning and the experience was wonderful. The guide was fantastic. However we then went for a long and poor lunch, followed by a viewing point with no view and finished with a trip to an Aloe Vera “farm” which was really a shopping slot, I really wish it had ended at lunchtime!

The driver Nixon and guide lady (think her name was herma), were very good. The dual uk and German tour was completed with ease. Lots of lovely places visited on this full day tour with stops at the right times and good time kept. Lovely lunch stop despite the rain.

Die Tour selbst war sehr beeindruckend. Die Reiseführerin war perfekt. Leider hat man uns bei der Buchung nicht gesagt, dass man das Essen weglassen kann. Das Essen entsprach nicht dem hohem Niveau der Tour.

Richard the hotel rep gave us excellent information about the tour, Richard is an amazing onsite rep with great knowledge. The coach tour guide and driver were also excellent and gave fantastic information during the trip .. safety was explain in depth about the trip .. times to meet and instruction during the day were very good .. i would highly recommend this trip to anyone and the safety was excellent ??

Fantastic day out, feel like I have seen the real lanzarote - very interesting. This is the second time on this tour, fifteen years ago we came and did this tour as a couple and i came back with the intention of showing my daughters all of the wonderful things we experienced. They where equally blow away by the sights and experience. David our tour guide was a fountain of knowledge and a really nice fella. Would highly recommend.

First the guide Dave was excellent. And yhe drivers were also just brilliant. But we spent an hour and 40 minutes picking up from many hotels and changing coaches even before heading to the first location. And the the same time at the end of the day changing coaches again and going round all ghe hotels again before we were dropped off. While the tour was interesting we would not recommend this to anyone just because of the time spent picking people up.

Trip was lovely, but did not like not being dropped off at another hotel and having to walk back to ours after an long day out. And being taken to an Aloe vera place for an talk on how there was the only true and real product, which can be found all over the island. I take it our guild was on commission

Wir waren mit Bus 911 unterwegs. Der spanische Reiseleiter sprach ein sehr schlechtes Deutsch und es fehlten sehr oft die Erklärungen zu den einzelnen Sehenswürdigkeiten. Wir waren viel zu spät zum Mittagessen, sodass wir kaum noch eine Wahl hatten. Außerdem war das Essen lauwarm, zum teil kalt. Ständig forderte es uns auf, Ole zu rufen was wir als unangenehm empfanden. Außerdem nannte er sich George Cloony, weil er angeblich einen nicht für uns verständlichen Vornamen hatte.

The tour was very well organised, especially the grouping of people by language so that everyone felt included in the commentary. The coach was very new, exceptionally clean and very comfortable. The most impressive factor though was our guide, who knew her subject extremely well, engaged with us all brilliantly and did a great job of keeping together a sizeable group of different mobility levels.

The whole experience was excellent!! Me and my wife caryn, both said how nice it was to have a tour guide that was really passionate about his role. Namely Robert. Very knowledgeable, caring and entertaining. He shared a lot of history and went that extra mile to give us a truly memorable experience. The driver was also vey good!! We are so glad we went. Only thing negative was we wished we had longer in the caves to explore to completely immerse ourselves in the surroundings. All in all 100%!!

Fina sevärdheter. Lunch, dålig miljö. Fick sitta ute i regnet och kyla trots att lokalen inomhus var tom. Maten dålig. Två bussar och två guider som strulade till det med vilka som skulle åka i vilken buss varför vi fick vänta onödigt länge på vår hemfärd.

The tour guide was excellent and both knowledgeable and funny. All the attractions were first rate and worth seeing and the meal was well worth the extra money. Only downside was the mixed up collection and drop offs. We were collected at the stated pick up point but the tour guide had to wait for a second coach to transfer some of the coach occupants over and receive some additional customers. When it was time to return this caused major problems resulting in a number of us having to switch.

Die Tour war etwas anstrengend. Hat uns aber gut gefallen und man hat viel von Lanzarote gesehen. Die Zeit in Haria mit Mittagessen und Marktbesuch ist viel zu knapp bemessen. Wir hätten noch 20 Min. gehabt für den Marktbesuch. Wenn man noch hingehen und wieder zurück gehen muss, bleiben knapp 10 Min. für den Markt, deshalb haben wir den Marktbesuch ausgelassen. Schön wäre eine halbe oder 3/4 Std. mehr Zeit in Haria.

All places worth going to especially the Green Caves. Mirador del Rio-nice but a pity we couldn’t go out on balcony-understand safety considerations. A bit more info on the Valley of a Thousand Palms. Meal very good. Took a good while to do the pick ups. Price a bit expensive. Guide good driver drove safely.

De excursie was goed met de gids die veel wist te vertellen. Alleen de bookingssite van de excursie is misleidend. Er staat een bedrag met inclusief o.a. lunch. Alleen bleek dat de lunch er NIET bij zat , konden wel meeeten als we even 15 euro per persoon betaalde . Jammer dat het zo moet

Wir fuhren mit dem Reisebus in Richtung Costa Teguise. Dort stiegen die britischen Touristen aus und weitere deutsche Touristen ein. Danach war der Bus proppenvoll. Entsprechend groß war die Gruppe. Das war während der Besichtigung von zwei Lavagrotten „Jameos del Aqua“ eine Herausforderung für den Guide. Zum einen versuchte er zu erklären wie die Grotten entstanden sind und zum anderen musste er sich um die Sicherheit der Gruppe kümmern, die Teilweise im Gänsemarsch unterwegs war. Schade.

It was well organised and Vanessa in Reception our Tui Rep was very good and informative about this trip which she highly recommended to us. The lunch was generous and delicious. There was plenty of time allocated to enjoy each part of the visit. I ate a piece of Aloe Vera which is definitely not for me . A great trip and would recommend it.

Reisgids Germa was top! Vertelde heel veel. Voordeel voor ons was dat het ook on het Nederlands was, maar haar engels was ook goed te verstaan. Ze had overal een verhaal bij en zeker bij de tocht door de grotten dacht ze enorm om de veiligheid en deed ze enorm haar best om iedereen heelhuids erdoorheen te loodsen. Ontzettend mooie groene grotten, maar ook jameos del aqua. Mirador del Rio is ook prachtig. Wij hadden gekozen voor de excursie zonder lunch. Was ook prima

A disappointing start to the day, we missed breakfast for a 8.10 pickup to find after a large number of stops we had to swop coaches at Teguise some two hours later. The swop coach was delayed and there was a total mix up on European speaking numbers so eventually we ended back on our original coach. We left Teguise to arrive at our first stop an Aloe Vera sales pitch, not impressed! We finally arrived at the caves after 3.5 hours on the road! The rest of the day was good but rushed.

Chaos bei der Abfahrt. Wir hatten die Deutschte Tour geplant und waren auf der Englischsprachigen eingeteilt. Der Deutsche Tour Guide sagte er habe in seinem Bus keinen Platz mehr u. wir sollen mit dem Englisch Guide Bus fahren der mehr Plätze hätte, Dann kam der Vorschlag die Englische Gruppe soll den Bus mit der Deutschen Gruppe wechseln, da die Deutsche Gruppe größer war. Was sie mürrisch getan haben. Das ganze Theater viel auf uns zurück. Unser Guide hat das Beste daraus gemacht

Der Guide war teilweise nicht ganz so gut zu verstehen hat aber sein bestes gegeben. Die Sehenswürdigkeiten sind toll. Vom organisatorischen her war die Tour ein Desaster. Ich verzichte lieber. Wie schon bei der Katamaran Tour, stundenlanges Busfahren, Gäste die den Bus wechseln müssen und das mehrmals, was insgesamt zu ca 2 Stunden Wartezeit, sitzend im Bus und einem durcheinander geführt hat, das nicht akzeptabel ist. Dasteuerstefüreine Firma sind weder Material,Personal, sondern keine Kunden

Guide "Holländer" ist sehr ansprechend und bringt einem seine/die Inhalte mit Engagement näher. Es ist ihm sichtlich auch ein persönliches Anliegen. Nur zu empfehlen. Musik im Bus super und angenehme Klimatisierung Die persönliche Beratung/Betreuung durch Sonja ist eine notwendige Sache, weil persönlich. Wir möchten wissen, warum wir für die Tour 95€ /Person bezahlt haben und nicht 83€ wie im Angebot angekündigt. Bei 6 Personen macht das immerhin 72€ ! Es ist uns erst nach der Tour aufgefallen.

Bra: lunch, fin utsiktsplats, lagom spännande grotta. Mycket bra guide i första transferbussen, ok guide i huvudbussen men lite fånigt uttal som störde informationsöverföringen. Kunde ha varit bättre: vi trodde att det skulle ha ingå ett besök på en marknad men det blev inget av det.

We enjoyed the experience of the tour and felt it represented good value for money. Jorge, our tour guide, was both entertaining and informative. All the places if interest were fascinating and provided plenty of opportunity for some really good photographic memories. Our only concern was at the Green Caves where we felt it was physically challenging and particularly unsuitable for anyone who suffers from chlostrophobia or bad back. This isn't made very clear in the information.

The guide and driver were fantastic and definitely enhanced a very good excursion. The coach, the service, the food and the venues were excellent and could not be faulted. My wife and I were fine with the caves and the tight spaces, it might be worth mentioning the tight spaces when advising it. One lady was a little afraid because of her being claustrophobic. As said my wife and I had a blast and I’m six feet six inches.

Die Tour ansich sehr schön. Leider war der Reiseleiter oft schlecht zu verstehen und man hatte das Gefühl das er den französischen Gästen viel mehr erklärt hat als den Deutschen. Fanden wir sehr schade da wir den Ausflug über Tui gebucht haben wegen der deutschen Reiseleitug

Die grüne Höhle ist nicht für ältere oder Leute mit Gehproblemem. Unseren älteren Teilnehmer sind mit den Verhältnissen der Stufen und Anhänge nicht klargekommen. Die Beschreibung fehlte in der Information zu der Tour

Supermooie trip.Goede chauffeur en super gids. Heel veel gezien en bijgeleerd. Een trip die zijn geld waard was. Absolute aanrader.

Het woord laten in deze vraag past niet, nu gaat u vertellen wat ik er van vond. Ik vond de trip zeer de moeite waard. Het enige punt van aandacht is het restaurant. Met zoveel bussen vol gmet gasten in de wachtrij.

De gids kwam zeer arrogant over, velen hadden er commentaar op. En zijn levensles over psychisch zieke mensen was ook niet altijd gepast. Ander punt, goede lunch maar iedere keer dat we iets boeken van axcursie eis water en wijn of bier a volonte maar een colatje moeten we telkens bijbetalen. Jammer voor mensen die geen alcohol drinken, we betalen evenveel voor de excursie

We vonden deze tour helemaal super! Wat een mooie bezienswaardigheden hebben we gezien. Wij vonden de groene grote het hoogtepunt. Maar ook Mirador del Rio en Jameos del Aqua waren erg mooi. Lekker geluncht in Haria. Onze gids Rob is een topper. Hij weet erg veel van het eiland en heeft zich gespecialiseerd in vulkaanologie. Kortom amazing. Let op minder geschikt voor mensen die slecht ter been zijn. De ondergrond is erg onregelmatig en er moeten veel trappen worden beklommen.

Loved all the places we visited and the lunch stop was very nice. The tour guide Robert was very knowledgable and funny. Overall a very worthwhile trip to get to explore the natural wonders of Lanzarote.

Heel mooie tour, en leuke gids (Rob) die er met humor een verhaal omheen doet. De grotten en de plek met de krabben zijn ontzettend mooi. Het uitzichtpunt was helaas in wolken bedekt, en hebben we niets van kunnen zien. Kan tui niks aan doen natuurlijk. Lunch was in buffetform en prima in orde. Enige minpuntje was de bus; de stoelen zijn erg klein, waar ik met mijn 2m lengte niet goed in kon zitten, met rugpijn tot gevolg. Al met al prima tour, 9/10

Our guide, was amazing. His knowledge of the area and the geology was outstanding . It shone through how dedicated he was and his love and respect for Lanzarote. He was funny and very charismatic and a great speaker whilst keeping the tour informed and safe. Nothing we didn’t like

De tour is heel informatief en erg leuk. Rob de gids was geweldig hij heeft veel kennis en humor waardoor de dag voorbij vloog.
