With blossoming gardens, spa towns and jaw-dropping scenery, it also makes for a delightful day trip from Sorrento. This one features a scenic drive, free time for lunch and the famed La Mortella Gardens.First up on this full day tour is the hydrofoil crossing from Sorrento to volcanic Ischia. On arrival, you'll get to know the island with a panoramic drive to see its highlights. There's a break for lunch before the next part of the tour.In the afternoon, the star of the show is the subtropical La Mortella Gardens. Created and lovingly tended to during decades by English composer William Walton and his Argentinian wife, Susana, they feature more than 300 rare and exotic plants, along with ornate statues and waterfalls. Check out the views from the upper hill over the Bay of Forio, before more free time until it's time to board the boat again.
