Cosa aspettarsi
Lasciatevi alle spalle il fascino delle spiagge di Paphos mentre vi dirigete verso ovest, verso i Monti Troodos, per scoprire l'arte e l'anima di questa regione di Cipro. La prima tappa è una visita al piccolo villaggio di Platanisteia, circondato da ulivi. Il luogo deve la sua fama all'artista del XX secolo Hambis Tsangaris, che qui visse e lavorò negli anni '80. Visiterete il museo di incisione da lui fondato, ammirerete le sue opere e scoprirete le sue fonti di ispirazione, dal paesaggio cipriota alle leggende popolari e alla guerra.Da qui inizierete a salire verso le pendici dei Monti Troodos, facendo la vostra prossima sosta nel piccolo villaggio di Arsos. È immerso tra i numerosi vigneti di questo centro vinicolo, il che gli conferisce un'atmosfera rustica che si fa ancora più marcata quando si notano i tetti in terracotta e le persiane dai colori vivaci delle case del posto. Accomodatevi e rilassatevi con un caffè mattutino in uno dei bar locali. Non stupitevi se al tavolo accanto vedrete alcuni signori del posto intenti a giocare a tavli, ovvero a backgammon. Infine, percorrerete sentieri panoramici di montagna per raggiungere una fitta foresta. Nascosto tra i pini si trova il ponte medievale di Tzelefos, un ponte veneziano in pietra che attraversa il fiume Diarizos. È il luogo ideale per scattare un selfie e poi fare una passeggiata nel bosco, dove potrete respirare il profumo delle erbe selvatiche che crescono lungo il fiume prima di tornare a Paphos.

We were collected on time then found out later on that out trip wasnt going to the Art Museum and printing exhibition owing to the owner being sick. Instead we visited a tiny house with old farming items etc and a village church both of which I have seem many times before. I told the rep I would complain to Tui but not about her, she was a good guide but on the bus she accused me of trying to get others to complain!!. I DID NOT DO THIS!! I felt humiliated and embarrassed at her lies!

We enjoyed the visit, and were sorry that the print maker was unavailable due to illness. However, the farm museum and church were offered as well, and our coffee stop allowed us to meet some delightful local people. The guide was excellent, full of information and answered all our questions re history and the nature of the changing landscapes.

It was far more expensive than it merited. A half day trip with coffee at €69 per person was poor value compared to other trips available for similar cost but including meals. It was disappointing! An awful lot of driving around with 3 short stops. We have enjoyed our holiday in Cyprus but this trip was the low point.

It was nice to have a smaller bus with not too many people. the road was very twisty so some people felt a bit travel sick but my wife and I really enjoyed it. In the village the people were very pleasant but we were disappointed to find the church all locked up. Very good art museum visit and the guide was very knowledgeable and pleasant.

Hat uns nicht gefallen. Keine deutsche Übersetzung. Der Stopp zum Kaffeetrinken absolut schlecht. Alles dreckig.
