Il Cambio della Guardia a Buckingham Palace vede la partecipazione dei soldati a piedi della Household Division e si svolge lunedì, mercoledì, venerdì e domenica. Il Cambio della Guardia a Cavallo alla Horse Guards Parade vede la partecipazione dei cavalieri a cavallo della Household Cavalry e si svolge tutti i giorni; è ciò che potrete vedere prenotando un tour il martedì e il giovedì. Il primo si svolge a Buckingham Palace, mentre il secondo si tiene a Horse Guards Parade, vicino a Whitehall.
Sabato, lo spettacolo che si svolge alla House Guards Parade è noto come "Guard Mounting" o "Ispezione della Nuova Guardia". L'ispezione prevede che il Capitano della Nuova Guardia ispezioni i soldati per assicurarsi che siano in perfetto ordine, con uniformi e equipaggiamento in perfette condizioni, prima che subentrino alla Vecchia Guardia.

Il punto di ritrovo è Waterloo Place, vicino alla colonna del Duca di York. Si tratta dell'alta colonna con la statua in cima. Se arrivate in metropolitana, prendete la metropolitana fino a Piccadilly Circus e prendete l'uscita n. 3 per Regent Street/St James. Il n'y avais pas le changement de la garde, il était noté qu'en cas de mauvais temps ça pouvais être annulé mais la il fesais magnifique on a pas vu le changement de garde. Très déçu du coup, la guide nous a dis qu'on pouvais faire la demande pour un remboursement d'une partie de l'excursion.

Die Tour war durch die Leiterin sehr unterhaltsam und interessant. Aber nicht jeder kann eine solch lange Tour zu Fuß durchhalten. Uns hätte nur der Buckingham-Palace ausgereicht.

It was very nice and the guide was clever
Yet, I just thought we would actually be able to watch the Changing of the Guards more closer to the gate!
However, everything else was just perfect specially the Buckingham Palace tour!
We did it almost ten days prior to Queen Elizabeth’s sad news :(

We had James. It probably wasn’t his fault but we had an older group and he made us jog pretty quick to some of the spots he chose to watch the soldiers. I don’t think that was the experience anyone expected. We saw soldiers marching and I would say that’s it. Where was the Changing of the Guard?

Es war ein absolutes Erlebnis. Der Stadtführer hat uns bestens mit interessanten Storys unterhalten. Er wusste genau zu welchen Zeitpunkt wo sein musste um die Wachablösung in vielen Details nah zu erleben. Danke nochmal, wir werden es auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen. Die BuckinghamPalace Besichtigung im Anschluss war das nächste Highlight.
Es hatte seinen Preis ..Aber man sollte es gesehen haben!

Our tour guide was full of knowledge and personable. However, one MAJOR thing to note is that the "changing of the guard", the one at Buckingham Palace everyone thinks about, is only performed every other day, NOT daily. Our tour happened to fall on a day when there was no changing of the guard. Instead, we got the changing of the horse guard. And while this is cool in itself, it definitely is NOT what I thought I signed up for. It's not the tour operator's fault, or at least not the guide's, but several people in our group were very disappointed and felt deceived that the tour company made no mention of the every-other-day nature of the Buckingham Palace changing of the guard ceremony.
The tour of Buckingham Palace itself was excellent. It's open to the public only about 8 weeks a year while the Queen is away. The palace is beautiful and there was an interesting, well-presented exhibit on the Queen's garments from over the years. The audio tour of the palace was nice as well. Note that no photos may be taken while inside the palace.
