Cyprus is all rolling hills dotted with pretty villages. On this adults-only tour, you'll see where a legend was born, visit the ruins of Kourion, venture to the village of Omodos and cap off the day with a wine tasting. Eva, one of our local guides, says of this excursion, "you'll wander through layers of history, culture and mythology."You'll dive straight into the past at Kourion, one of the most impressive archaeological sites in Cyprus. Visit the Roman baths and amble into the site's centrepiece, the Greco-Roman theatre. Concerts are still held to this day. While the mosaics of the trio of excavated houses known as those of Eustolius, the Gladiators and Achilles are as impressive as when they were laid down. Then, we'll head for a local lunch in a family-run taverna in Vouni before visiting the mountain-fringed village of Omodos, where you'll wander around skinny cobbled streets lined with Byzantine buildings. It's Eva's favourite village. She says,"the charm of the stone houses, the tranquillity and peace. It's as if it has sprung from a fairytale. I love dropping into one of the cafés and seeing locals have philosophical discussions, political arguments and a bit of gossip." To finish, there's a wine-tasting session, where you'll learn all about sweet commandaria wine – one of the oldest varieties in the world.

From a safety point, I think people need to be made aware that suitable foot wear is needed for the walking and that there is some steep parts for older people. Otherwise a good experience.

Chris the guide was fantastic - super knowledgable and friendly. He really made the trip. Transport was comfy and the driver (also Chris) was very safe. The places we went were interesting and the lunch stop was brilliant. A lovely way to try lots of different local food. I would definitely recommend this trip!

The two archeological sites were fascinating and thoroughly enjoyed the wine tasting. The meze in the taverna was delicious giving us a taste of Cypriot cuisine served efficiently. Minuses were the terrain at the sites sometimes difficult and perhaps a warning that they're not suitable for people with mobility issues especially the spiral steps. I fully realise that as they're ancient places Tui cannot improve anything but some members of our tour did have problems. Chris is an excellent guide

Lisa our Tui rep presented us with the trip and gave a good account of what to expect. Chris our tour guide was excellent- funny and witty with a great wealth of knowledge about the island’s history and tour sites. He was polite and respectful towards all our group. The pace of the tour was ideal for us. Wine tasting was a good experience and the owner explained the different types as sampled. The mezze meal was set in lovely surroundings with a meal option for ourselves being vegetarians.

The tour itself was good and informative, however we asked if this was disabled friendly and they said although not good for wheelchairs it’s easy for everyone else. My mum cannot walk far and has a stick and she struggled, some stuff she missed out on as she couldn’t do the steps and the hill where the lunch was, was really tough for her

Prompt pickup, Kris introduced himself and the driver and kept us thoroughly informed of the day’s schedule as well as historical facts and points of interest. The tour was very interesting, great sightseeing and a perfect amount of time at each stop. The lunch was spectacular, a huge selection of tasty local cuisine at a beautiful taverna served by a lovely, friendly family. Tasted some very nice wine, I recommend the Seven Souls white wine! All in all, a fantastic experience.

Likte: Hyggelig og kunnskapsrik guide, interessante historiske områder i Kourion og Kolossi Castle, liten koselig avsidesliggende restaurant (som vi aldri hadde funnet på egenhånd) Likte ikke: Misvisende annonsert med "Vingårdstur", men istedenfor en gård besøkte vi et vinutsalg i en av Omodos gater. Burde fått et valg om 2-manns bord på restauranten istedenfor et stort fellesbord. Omodos var en typisk turiststed med meget høye priser på de altfor mange uteserveringene.

Fabulous trip, the right amount of time at each place. Historical sites were amazing. Chris the guide was very knowledgeable about the places we visited and gave a very good talk about the historical and geographical aspects of Cyprus as we travelled to the sites. The lunch was amazing, so many dishes! The free time and winery visit in Omodos was perfect.

The guide Chris was very knowledgeable he was great. We only visited one part of kourion,it would have been nice to see more. Kolossi castle was great and we time to explore all levels. Omodos was a lovely place,we had quite a bit of time here. The wine tasting was OK,small quantity and quickly done. Lunch was amazing,it would have been nice to have a menu of the food that was about to be delivered as there was so much,but everything was great.

Merci à Chris notre guide. Le contexte historique est bien expliqué et les sites/endroits vus sont d'intérêt. Cependant, il manque un effet "wow" et la dégustation de vin semblait un peu froid. Attention, les goûts et les textures des vins étaient bien présents ainsi qu'une politesse sans reproche.

Kourion was very interesting, it would have been nice to see a little more of the site. Kolossi castle was good too, just about the right amount of time there. Lunch was excellent, beautiful food in a lovely setting. The wine tasting was a waste of time and Omodos had little to offer. Chris, our guide, was excellent.

Bezoek aan het kasteel en de ruïnes was top. De lunch was goed maar viel toch wat tegen, we hadden er meer van verwacht. Omodos was gezellig maar de wijnproeverij was een grap, er werd gewoon afgelezen van de fles en dat was het! 4 wijnen verder en het was afgelopen, zeer teleurstellend. Een wijnproeverij had op zen minst in een wijngaard mogen zijn. Daarna ook geweigerd in de lokale kerk voor het dragen van een lange short, tui had dit wel op voorhand mogen aangeven.

The visit to the archeological sites was good with a lot of facts being given. The lunch was reasonable. However there it turned the experience offered a visit to a winery and a wine tasting. We were taken to an elaborate shop. There were 11 people and only one seat. We were hastily offered a selection of local wines all in the same glass and then asked if we would like to buy some. The whole thing being over in 11 minutes. I really would like to speak to someone about a refund.

Ancient Kourion was superb, the guides knowledge excellent - a not long enough time visiting the sight. Kolossi Castle is a large cube and not what one would call a castle. There are 90 steps so if your not fairly mobile don't bother going upstairs. There are no hand rails and the stairs are narrow. Omodos is a small village on a hill. The lunch was rushed and basically a Tapas. The winery tour was a waste of time. 4 bottles tasted between 15 people. Long time spent on bus.

Wir hatten einen sehr netten und super kompetenten Guide. Die Busfahrt war sehr kurzweilig. Wir wurden mit vielen Informationen rund um die Geschichte Zyperns und die speziell besuchten Orte und den Wein versorgt. Das Essen in einer kleinen Taverne war sehr lecker und das Personal freundlich und auch die Weinprobe war gut. Noch besser wäre sie allerdings nach dem Essen gewesen. Die Besichtigung der Kirche kann man auch weglassen. Ich kam mir dort nicht erwünscht vor. Ansonsten: top Tour!

Chris (Christos) was fab!! Tour was enjoyable, value for money and a great day altogether. We bought some lovely wine and much cheaper than on the website, we noticed, as we’d like to import some to enjoy at home. Drank ours later that week! In Cyprus. Restaurant was lovely, food was excellent and plentiful, as was wine - red and white provided. A few people were moaning about it being onerous walking and I’d say it was gentle. And I’m normal fitness. What do people expect … I guess? Recommend!!

Lovely trip, our guide Chris was very knowledgable and informative; the ruins and the castle were both very interesting. There happened to be a cruise ship in that day so it was a little busier than usual according to Chris but it wasn’t excessively busy and we just had to space out from the other guided groups so we could hear him properly. The winery was very picturesque, it had a lovely terraced area with nice views down the valley. I’ve run out of characters so can’t finish my review.

Our guide was extremely informative about the history of Cyprus and the sights we stopped at. Perhaps a little too much information for our liking as it was a little difficult to digest in one go at times. It would have been nice to have more time at the ancient kourion sight to be able to explore the sight further as we only saw part of it. Wine tasting was great and the wine to purchase afterwards was very reasonably priced. Lunch was really delicious and Omodos was lovely to explore.

Very enjoyable. The tour guide Olga was very informative. Lots of local knowledge. The lunch was fantastic, great little family restaurant. The only downfall was, we could have done with a little bit more free time at each stop. Felt a bit rushed at times but would still recommend to others.

A full packed day visiting historical sites, learning about Cypriot history, eating delicious food and sampling local wines. The guide was very knowledgeable, friendly and looked after the whole group. Lunch had plenty to offer even for a vegetarian. The only things missing were going up to the top of Kolossi Castle for the views and a little more free time in Omodos for souvenir shopping. I would say it's a good introduction to everything so you can go back and explore more at your leisure.
