À quoi s'attendre
A half-day exploring the towering peaks of Madeira is on the cards with this tour. You'll head off-road by 4x4 up to viewpoints and mountain passes, and finish with a stop at Cristo Rei at Garajau for arguably the most iconic views of the day.The tour gets going at Largo do Miranda and continues with an exciting drive up to Pico do Arieiro at 1818 metres, from where the panorama really opens up. On a clear day, you can see Ponta de São Lourenço, Ribeiro Frio, and Paúl da Serra. Next, embark on an off-road adventure through Santo da Serra's unique and pristine forest, then journey back to Madeira's south coast, with scenic overlooks of local farmers' terraces and more awe-inspiring viewpoints. After the final stop, at the Cristo Rei viewpoint, it's time to head back to base.

Really great morning, plenty of time to explore and take photos at each stop. Open top through the forest was amazing, if you are in the back I recommend standing up, it was exhilarating. Fantastic way to see the sights.

We have done a similar trip, had open roof. We expected same but it was fixed roof. We were ok but others in back were not. Please just make sure advert is clear to set expectations.

Mooie trip met de jeep regelmatige stop om mooie landschappen te zien en te bewonderen, goede chauffeur echt waar voor je geld. Ik moet er wel bij zeggen we hadden geluk dat er een koppel annuleerde en we met 2 achterin zaten, met 4 achterin is toch wel een beetje krap zeker bij het of route gedeelte maar het was zeker top een aanrader

I loved this trip but some of the seatbelts didn't work in the 4 X4. There was enough time at all the sights and the driver was helpful stopping for the toilet and when one of our party was feeling sick. I'm glad I brought a waterproof as you do go up into the clouds and it was cold and damp for a while. We were also glad of our walking shoes don't go in flipflops. The driver could have done with microphone as we couldn't hear in the back and relied on someone else relaying the info

Fantastic tour, lots of stops, diversity of locations, appropriate amount of time at each site, friendly driver, amazing scenery. Driver was a little late picking us up - not his fault, but a text to let us know he on his way would have reassured us. Warning to bring a coat would have been helpful, as it was very cold and windy on the mountain tops!

Antonio (Tony) was a great guide, good company and amusing. We had enough time at our various stops. I enjoyed stopping at a local cafe to sample the local cider. However the younger people on the trip had no cash to pay for their drinks (card payment was not available) and Tony had to pay for them. They also couldn't tip him, which is the courteous thing to do, but I did - so I guess my tip ensured Tony wasn't out of pocket! A bIt unfair on me! People should be told to have cash with them...

Trip was superb, exceeded expectations. Tony, the driver/guide was a real character and made the trip - he was very knowledgeable and helpful and advised all points of interest and much more. The off-road sections were awesome really great fun and Tony’s sense of humour made it all the better. We were given plenty of time for the sight seeing/photos with no rushing. We saw parts of the island we would never have seen without going on this tour. Excellent value for money- highly recommended!

Our guide Romero was brilliant and really enhanced the experience. He made sure we got to the peak before the coaches arrived and adapted the tour slightly due to the rain. The off road section was thrilling but do take a small towel just in case of rain when the roof's off.

This has been on my bucket list for 20 years...there was absolutely nothing to complain about. Our tour guide was very informative, the gardens were beautiful, the tobogan was amazing. I had to pay €27.50 as a single person, but It was still good value to me

We hadden een zeer leuke gids, André. Hij vertelde veel van het eiland en liet ons mooie plekken van het eiland zien. De tijd op de berg vonden wij eigenlijk te kort, maar onze Jeep had daar stukken dus moesten we wachten op een andere Jeep. Daardoor iets meer tijd. Al met al een leuke, avontuurlijke excursie!

Hele gave ervaring om met de jeep door Madeira te rijden. Met de jeep kom je op de kleinste en steilste weggetjes, waarvan je niet zou verwachten dat je daar kan rijden. Door in de laadbak te gaan staan wordt de ervaring nog beter! We kwamen op hele mooie plekken en de chauffeur/gids (Robert) was erg leuk. Hij vertelde hier en daar wat over de omgeving en maakte constant grapjes. Hele gave en leuke activiteit om het eiland te verkennen!

We boekten majestic mountains ivm nonnenvallei, echter, daar kwamen we niet in deze tour. De gids gaf aan dat dit wel vaker fout ging en hij dit ook gemeld heeft. Hij gaf ons vooral advies dit in deze vragenlijst aan te geven, zodat het 'eindelijk' eens veranderd kon worden door tui. De tour die we dus wel kregen was top verder en de gids (ben naam vergeten, Jorge/John) was ook top!

Our driver took charge of both cars in the convoy and with his outstanding knowledge of the island and his friendly approach, we all enjoyed the experience. Would definitely do it again. One thing to suggest is to take some warmer clothes for up in the hills.

Ein absolutes Erlebnis mit Angelo. Einfach toll. Er hat die Tour in Absprache etwas abgewandelt damit wir früher zu den hot spots kommen konnten und so viel weniger Stress hatten. Dazu kam eine fantastische Offroad Tour die sehr angenehm vom Fahrer und seiner Anita Bonita durchgeführt wurden. Er hat uns alles super erklärt und viele Infos gegeben. Alles in allem ein perfektes Erlebnis

Loved the scenery and views, even going into the clouds was a great experience. Guide was amazing, such fun and so knowledgeable about the plants we saw. The off roading was a scream. Having the opportunity to try local cider was a great idea. Personally I would have liked more time at Cristo Rio to go in their cable car to the beach and back.

The guide Ruben was enthusiastic and attentive, was sharing details about culture and flora on Madeira. Driving was comfortable and exciting as the route was off of usual tourist paths. It was quite cold at Pico de Arieiro but the view was fantastic. Overall, a lot to see during this 4 hour tour, recommended!

Minpunten heb ik eigenlijk niet. Wat ik leuk vond waren de binnendoorweggetjes die ik nog nooit had gezien, ook al ben ik voor de 5e keer op Madeira. Een ander punt om in het nonnenklooster te kijken vond ik ook erg mooi.

We really enjoyed the majestic mountains tour. Rui Silva was our guide he told us interesting information about each of our stops and gave us plenty of opportunities to take photos during the tour. We ventured to parts of Madeira we hadn't visited before and Rui shared his knowledge of these places with us. The stop at Pico Arierio was the highlight of the tour. It was a pleasure to be guided by such a friendly and helpful young man.

Guide Vitor kannte sich hervorragend aus und wusste viel über die Insel zu berichten. Er war ausgesprochen höflich und bemüht und hatte einen angenehmen fahrstil, auch die Offroad Strecke hat viel Spaß gemacht! Die ausgewählten Haltepunkte waren allesamt Aussichtspunkte. Es gab auch eine Likörprobe im Nonnental aber man fühlte sich nicht verpflichtet etwas zu kaufen! Spaziergänge oder andere nennenswerte strecken zu Fuß waren nicht enthalten.

Our guide "Diogo" was brilliant, it was our first 4x4 trip not what we expected. We thought it would be up to the mountains a bit of off road and back to the hotel. Wrong we were taken to a few viewing points in Funchal, then to the Nuns Valley. The off road section was great fun, not too aggressive. A short walk part way through the trip was great. We will definitely be doing this again next time here, but we will want "Diogo" as our guide.

The only issue with the tour was that the guide, whilst being an excellent driver and very engaging chap didn't really now much about the flora and fauna of the island. However, he was excellent at keeping the whole group interested and entertained.

Guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. The tour covered both excellent viewpoints on the island as well as some fun off road driving. However it was definitely the guide that made it such a good tour. Would absolutely recommend this excursion.
