À quoi s'attendre
Lors de l'éruption du Vésuve en 79 après J.-C., les villes sœurs de Pompéi et d'Herculanum ont été figées dans le temps. Plus de 1 600 ans se sont écoulés avant qu'elles ne soient redécouvertes. Aujourd'hui, elles constituent sans aucun doute deux des plus grands sites archéologiques du monde. Andrea, l'un de nos guides locaux experts, dit : "Pompéi et Herculanum ont peut-être connu le même sort, ensevelies sous les cendres du Vésuve, mais elles offrent deux aperçus distincts de la vie romaine antique. Alors que Pompéi était un centre commercial animé, Herculanum était un lieu de retraite balnéaire raffinée pour les riches". Enfouis sous des débris volcaniques, ces sites classés par l'UNESCO offrent un aperçu fascinant, et parfois troublant, de la vie romaine antique. Tout d'abord, votre guide vous conduira dans les rues de Pompéi et vous montrera les villas richement décorées des classes supérieures romaines, ainsi que les espaces publics tels que le Forum. Vous verrez les vestiges de temples et de villas et vous vous promènerez dans les rues pavées, encore marquées par les ornières des charrettes romaines. Si vous avez réservé la visite comprenant le repas du midi, vous pourrez déguster un repas simple et authentique, préparé avec des ingrédients de saison et accompagné d'un verre de vin de la région, avant de rejoindre le site archéologique d'Herculanum. Explorer Herculanum, c'est comme se promener dans une luxueuse propriété privée, avec ses villas somptueuses et ses mosaïques complexes, ses hangars à bateaux et ses sols en marbre". En suivant votre guide dans l'ancienne cité, vous découvrirez la fin tragique d'Herculanum, détruite par une coulée pyroclastique de gaz chauds et de boue volcanique qui a dévalé les pentes du volcan. Ce qu'il faut retenir
Vous ne pouvez pas emmener de sac excédant 30 x 30 x15 cm à Pompéi ou Herculanum. Les sacs trop volumineux doivent être déposés au vestiaire ou au service de consigne sur place, ce qui peut entraîner des frais supplémentaires.
Le transfert peut s'effectuer depuis un point de prise en charge prédéterminé.
Les groupes pour la visite des sites archéologiques seront de 30 personnes au maximum, mais le transport vers ces sites peut se faire dans des autocars pouvant accueillir plus de passagers.
Le premier dimanche de chaque mois, l'entrée aux sites archéologiques est gratuite. Cette gratuité a déjà été déduite du prix pour les dates concernées.
Le billet officiel pour Pompéi coûte 20 EUR pour les adultes, tandis que celui pour Herculanum coûte 16 EUR pour les adultes. Aux deux sites, les billets pour les citoyens de l'UE âgés de 18 à 25 ans coûtent 2 EUR. L'entrée est gratuite pour les enfants de moins de 18 ans, les visiteurs handicapés (avec un accompagnateur) et pour tous les visiteurs le premier dimanche du mois. La différence de prix reflète la valeur ajoutée et les services exclusifs inclus dans cette expérience.

Guide was excellent however in 40 degree heat it was just too much! Not enough breaks to get water or cool down. I feel the tour should have been changed to take the weather into consideration. Lunch was absolutely appalling and I have photos to prove it, if anyone wants to follow up. Lunch also over ran which added to rush of afternoon.

Slight issue that my headset stopped working in pompeii half way through the morning so I missed out on a lot of information. The guide tried hard to get me to stand near them but it was noisy and difficult to hear. They sorted it though in the afternoon at herculeum

We booked this tour with the lunch included- it was v hot >34•C . There we 5 of us - we all enjoyed the tour. Guides v knowledgeable and responsive. Definitely wouldn’t have wanted longer that time allotted in either place. It would have been nice to know before booking that if we hadn’t booked lunch there would have been somewhere where we could have booked..

Excellent trip. Guide was really knowledgeable. She did amazingly well given the really high temperature on the day. She was also very attentive to one of the guests who had a fall during the trip. Pompeii and Herculaneum on the same day is hard work but well worth it.

Visites très instructives mais Pompéii mériterait un temps plus long. D'après ce que j'ai compris nous avons vu un très bref aperçu de l'ensemble. Ne serait-il pas plus heureux de coupler Pompéii avec le Musée archéologique de Naples où l'expertise d'un guide serait très utile et qui renferme la quasi totalité des fresques, mosaïques et objets de Pompéii dans des ailes dédiées et organiser Herculanum avec le Vésuve ou autre?

A bit confused about transfer from airport to transport to hotel. A long walk and not enough staff to guide us. Then met two reps who chatted to each other and did not guide us to correct minibus. We had to work it out for ourselves.

The lunch aspect was not fully explained to us. The fact that it was at one restaurant with no other options left us little choice and the guide stated that we could find lunch elsewhere but that we would then need to get ourselves to Herculaneum. The lunch itself was very poor and not worth the money we had no choice but to pay out for, this made my wife very unhappy and took some gloss off of the experience

Great trip. The guide was excellent especially when dealing with three people who got lost and thought it was the guide's fault! (it wasn't). We did Pompeii and Herculaneum and my only criticism is 2 or 3 hours just isn't enough for Pompeii. Herculaneum was fine as it's a far smaller site.

It was very hot on the day and maybe a break around pompeii for everyone would have helped. The tour guide was amazing and the lunch was a lovely break much needed. Overall we enjoyed the experience. Will look forward to returning to pompeii in the future to see more as it develops.

The history was very interesting, the guide was knowledgeable, and the program went according to plan. However, doing the two places in one day proved too much. Although the temperature was exceptional, which didn't help, the day was too long. After seeing Pompeii, the Herculaneum tour was much the same. Our choice, but wouldn't recommend doing the two together.

We didn’t manage to go on the excursion. My wife sustained an injury on the Capri trip on Monday 08/06/2023. It seems the harbour in Capri was busy, so we had to transfer ashore by dinghy. As she was stretching her leg towards the dinghy, it dropped suddenly and she injured her knee. She was limping around Capri. The day after, she thought she needed medical attention, so we went to the hospital from 0900hrs to 1600hrs. On returning we found that we had missed the cancellation deadline.

Bus on time. Guide informative, professional and friendly. At one point 2 other members of the group wandered off and got lost. I watched them and they were spending much time talking to each other and on their phones. Later they tried to blame Erica the guide for “leaving them”. They were obnoxious and rude. She spoke to them in a professional and friendly manner. I do hope they do not complain about her as it was their own fault. She was excellent as a guide. Lunch was delicious.

The guide Ionika was absolutely superb. She talked to us all for hours and everything she said was interesting and valuable. She was clear and easy to understand, friendly and to the point. The ear-piece tech worked beautifully for keeping us connected.

The tour was very fast paste the guide was far ahead leaving some of us far behind the group we also never got to spend much time looking at any of the places we were taken to to visit. The whole day was excellent. Our guide, Lou Lou, was amazing and her knowledge of the history of both sites was outstanding. She managed probably one of the busiest days of the year - keeping the group together with plenty of pitstops along the way. She was very personable and approachable which made it easy to ask her any questions - she also taught us a little Italian phrases along the way. Very happy and would highly recommend this experience. I hope that Lou Lou gets a promotion soon!!

Well informed tour, excellent guide, nice lunch. For the future it would be better if the tour wasn’t so like a route march. You can’t help the popularity of the venue drawing such large crowds but it detracts from absorbing thr information and fully appreciating the historical impact.

Tour guide was excellent and knowledgeable. Felt lunch would have been better with just a very good main meal rather than an ok three course meal. Depending on group size and age it might mean you don’t cover as much ground in Pompeii as you would like. That’s fine as it makes you want to go back anyway. Herculaneum was simply excellent.

Although the transport was 20 mins late, our guide and driver were apologetic & very polite, Fabi our guide was very informative & interesting with lots of historic facts!, Pompii is huge and impossible for you to see in one morning, but we seen many highlights, Lunch was okay very simple with only 2 choices, but it was served quickly, as we needed to return to the coach for the second tour of Herculaneum, which was just as impressive and again Fabi was very good & informative,

Although you can do these sites independently and cheaper by taking the train, it has to be noted that the guides knowledge and flow of historic accounts brought the experience to life. The lunch was a tasteful three course affair, which was a pleasant surprise. Hats and suncream a must!! Good sturdy shoes to manage the cobbled roads is recommended.

Visiting Pompeii and Herculaneum were quite mind blowing experiences. Having an extremely knowledgeable and personable guide allowed us to get the most from such an amazing place. We may never get to see these places again, so it was important that we got the best experience possible - and we did! It was impossible to see the whole sites in one day alone, but we were shown some of the main highlights which we will remember always.

The experience, overall, was excellent, especially the quality of the guide: Francesca was extremely knowledgable, her English faultless and the provision of earphones worked very well. Lunch was perfect. Timing was excellent- a little more time in Pompeii to visit the shop as most were closed after the Herculeanuem visit. The idea of the two visits consecutively is excellent as they are so different. Maybe a bit pricey but a not to be missed experience, so worth the effort.

More time needed at Pompei and Herculaneum. Bus was 30 minutes late and traffic atrocious. Seat belts didn’t work and bus had dirty windows and curtains hanging down. Large price to pay for two hours at each site and 5 hours unsafe travel. Guide was very average.

The guides were fantastic and the whole trip was fantastic. The whole experience was worth every penny the trip went like clockwork from start to finish it was just a pitty that the weather was really poor

Guide “Ralph” was extremely knowledgeable and helpful throughout the day. Disappointed not to have seen the large amphitheatre at Pompei having only been shown the smaller one on this tour. Lunch could have been shorter and perhaps just a sandwich/drink to allow more time at both Pompei and Herculaneum, other a must see!

It was an excellent day with an excellent experienced guide Dana. Everything was clearly explained including the programme for the day. Lunch was more than expected with 3 courses, water and wine. All in all a brilliant day…. And for October the weather was perfect.

We had the best time. The guide was fab and very informative. She was great fun too. Food was lovely. The only thing we were worried about was weather we were in the right place for pick up but we were. We actually preferred Herculaneum which was so fascinating. Thank you for a great experience

I liked the size of the group. The head phones were not very comfortable. If you were at the back of the group you could miss what he was talking about and when you reached the spot he had moved on!! The guide was good but it all felt a little rushed! Would have liked more explanation into how the preservation of the site occurred. Lunch was good

We really enjoyed our trip, our guide was friendly and knowledgable and she was happy to answer any questions the group had. Lunch was good, 3 course vegetarian options with a soft drink or beer/wine included. The tables in the restaurant were very close together which made it feel cramped, difficult to get past others to go to the toilet etc, other than that we had a really good day.

Francesca, our guide was brilliant. You could tell she was passionate about the historical sites and her knowledge of the area was extensive. As the tour covers both Pompeii and Herculaneum in one day, there isn’t much time to really see a lot of Pompeii (indeed Francesca told us you would need about three days to cover the site) but in our two short hours she managed to show us some interesting places and I was impressed at how she managed to keep a large group (32) of mixed mobility together..

Very informative guides, and enjoyed comparing Pompei with Herculaneum. A very full schedule but guides dealt with it all well. Lunch was very tasty, staff very polite. Headsets could be improved with a volume control as commentary was very loud. We asked for volume to be reduced and it was a bit, but not quite enough.
