Barcelona Zoo is ideal for family days out. Over 7,000 animals from all over the world call this place home, including everything from lions, kangaroos and elephants to meerkats and creepy crawlies. It makes for a wild day trip from Salou.There's something for everyone at Barcelona Zoo. And once we arrive, you'll have a morning of exploration ahead of you. Toddlers can pet the goats and guinea pigs at the farm, while older children get stuck in with the interactive exhibits. Don't forget to check out the art gallery – all the pictures have been drawn by the resident gorillas.Within the park, there are restaurants and picnic areas where you can stop for lunch. And, afterwards, you'll have some free time to explore the Ramblas or go for a stroll around the famous Port-Vell area of the city.

The only thing that let the day down slightly was the zoo itself, it needs updating, alot of closed buildings. And I was expecting enclosures to be slightly bigger, Dublin zoo has been one of the best we have been too

Loved Isabel the guide she was so lovely especially with my young daughter. Explained everything well and was approachable. Lots of free time before zoo then plenty time at zoo considering the heat. The zoo was expensive for food so would recommend taking picnic if possible. Air conditioning on the bus was a life saver!! A really great day all round for all family!

Our tour guide Teresa was amazing, lots of interesting things to tell us while on the coach about the area and had lots of tips for us for when we got off the coach Felt a little rushed around the zoo but saw majority of animals Barcelona free time was enough for us, we had already done a lot of walking at the zoo so was happy to find somewhere to have a drink and food before heading back to the bus

The guide was amazing and gave all needed info require due to use going for the first time, the zoo had some great animals but just don't think it was worth the price and 2hrs is defo not enough free time Barcelona by the time you got food it was time to return to the coach... It's very busy

We had a great time at the zoo. The zoo was enormous with a lot of different animals who all had large amounts of space in their enclosure. Theres a lot of walking so would recommend wearing your trainers for this excursion. The 3 hours was the perfect amount of time to cover the zoo for us. We didn't enjoy the free time in Barcelona as much but that's down to us not doing our own research first on where to go. Very busy and a lot of scams going on up las ramblas. Have a plan before you go!

Bus was fine Rep was annoying and spoke a lot in a weird voice- when speaking to her 1 to 1 she’s didn’t talk that way, was also rude Free Time can happen before or after zoo so not as advertised. Barcelona bad for pickpocket and theft. Must take own food into zoo as extremely expensive and of poor quality. Hardly any animals to see as the don’t come out during hot days ??

Didn't get to see much of the zoo has the wheelchair I hired was no good and my daughter couldn't push me around so basically I waited by the entrance while my daughters and grandchildren looked around the zoo. It's not really suitable for disabled people with mobility issues

We had a fantastic trip, it was brilliant to be picked up and dropped off at our hotel door. Carlos and Michael looked after us well, and made sure we knew everything required. The only thing I'd mention (which wasn't a problem for us), is you only get 2 hours 'free time' in Barcelona if doing the zoo as well, but we were suitably tired enough to fall asleep on the return journey anyway!

Fantastic day at the zoo. People are saying that you don’t have enough free time there? We found that we plenty of time to see all the animals. Free time in Barcelona was just right as well. If you want more free time in Barcelona then just book the Barcelona trip. Enjoy ??

Theresa was absolutely fantastic. She was very knowledgeable and made the journey too and from Barcelona enjoyable. The zoo was a fantastic experience however the staff in the food hall were not very understanding to our SEN Childs needs. This made the experience very uncomfortable and quite distressing for Riley.

Unfortunately majority of the zoo was under renovation so it meant lots of the animals were unable to be seen properly or at all. The guide was lovely and friendly, even making the efforts to collect us directly when we were at the incorrect pickup location. however he rambled a lot on the bus in when giving information and would have been better with a script as I felt we missed lots of vital information. When booking this excursion it may be beneficial to add a map of pickup points.

A trip that was good value for money. Isobel our guide was extremely informative and funny! Free time was great, we visited the aquarium and the local area around it. The zoo was great! We had plenty of time and more to see everything and get food. Pick up times were prompt. Overall, a great day! Highly recommend!

Liked the 2 hours in Barcelona next time will do longer as we had zoo trip Zoo was awesome relaxing not seen many animals as most were hiding or asleep but that was explained by tour guide only one cafe was open and only rude staff on whole of holiday in cafe so we didn't order and walked away but was a great day theresa the tui rep and the driver was absolutely fabulous good advice given on saftey and learning the history was very helpful the whole of our holiday with tui so far from start

The guide staff were very good,the free time in Barcelona was good but didn't really have enough time fit much in before getting back for the zoo, the zoo was ok but its quite an old zoo and needs a bit of work on it,not many clear signs where to go

We thoroughly enjoyed our guide Mike on the bus this day. Very helpful, engaging and really helpful for his experiences of Barcelona which in turn lead us to a good 2 hours of free time with his guidance. The Zoo was great - although we didn't see it all in the 3 hours the animals we did was brilliant.

We was more prepared this holiday and got tickets for the aquarium the same day as the zoo, dropped off very close to aquarium, the tour guide (Michael) was amazing anything you wanted to know he answered, made everyone feel comfortable. We loved the zoo i personally felt it was a long time there, there isnt much shading and being a very hot day was tiring but all round worth a visit, well done Michael you are good at what you do keep up the good work

Free time in a shopping mall!! Nowhere near Las Ramblas or the large market which is Spain. Been there before and really disappointed not able to go as we were dropped off nowhere near. Told my family all about the market and they were really looking forward to it. Instead just rambled around a shopping mall wasting 2 hours. Very disappointed

The tour guide on the bus was excellent, I think she was called Theresa and was from Reus. She was funny, confident and full of information. The zoo itself was a bit disappointing, quite run down and the facilities were poor. Only a small cafe and nowhere cool to sit, only outside seating. It was about 34 degrees in the blazing sun, we were as warm as the animals hiding in the bushes! The 'free time' description is very vague, I had no idea that meant free time before the zoo.

Best. Excursion. Ever.. It really does cover everything. Just the right amount of time at the Aquarium. You don't feel rushed, then onwards right up to the front gate of the Zoo. Very punctual bus journey from getting on to getting off Tour guide Isabel was excellent gave out lots of information and had a lovely attitude very approachable if you had a query Thought it was value for money only downside is there wasn’t enough time to do and see everything we wanted to see but overall vey good time

Enjoyed the zoo and free time, although free time would have to be extended to be able to see the city. The bridge crossing was closed meaning a longer walk into the city so we could only really stay at the port and shopping area. Great if you just wanted to do aquarium and zoo

The zoo was very good and the time to get around it app was too, we had a spare hour so we took a walk around the park to see the neptu which is gorgeous and the free time was 2 hours plenrly of time to walk around and explore or do shopping. Treasa the tour guide was amazing has a lot of facts on the history and some good jokes too and made the experience so much more entertaining and explained everything thoroughly so nothing was missed. Antonio the driver also good guy.

Mike was great! Very approachable and great knowledge. It was nice to see Barcelona however cannot really see much in 2 hours. Would have preferred to be at the Zoo the whole time and do Barcelona seperately. Found myself rushing around on both occasions. The zoo definately requires longer than 3 hours to visit.

Didn’t get enough time to buy sandwiches etc or told where to buy food from before going as we where told on the coach that the food wasn’t great at the zoo and expensive it was a very hot day high 30s could have done the zoo in the morning when cooler rather than hottest point of the day could have done free time in Barcelona then

Not enough time at the zoo. Had to rush the second half. Although, lovely zoo . Too much free time in a part of barcelona where there wasn't much to do. The guide was excellent. Very informative. Although slightly behind on some information as she said we could see the dolphins at the zoo but they've not been at the zoo for 2 or 3 years. As the aquarium section of the zoo was shut down.
