This full day tour shows off two of the region's most important archaeological sites in all their glory. There's also free time at a fantastic beach and a tasty local lunch near Gizlikent waterfall to look forward to. Leyla, one of our expert local guides, says, "Ancient Tlos is home to some fine examples of the rock-hewn tombs we see around this area, always carved high up to bury people closer to the Gods. I also love spending time at Patara - one of the most beautiful beaches in this part of Turkey."You'll head to Ancient Tlos first. Boasting relics that stretch from the Lycian to Ottoman periods, it's a great place to explore. Leyla says, ‘It is not known exactly how long ago Tlos was founded, but the discovery of a bronze hatchet dating from over 3,000 years ago gives you an idea.' Located on a sloping hillside, it's a compact site but contains a remarkable number of ruins including rock-cut Lycian tombs, a theatre, Roman baths and much more to admire. After, you'll visit Gizlikent Şelalesi waterfall for some free time and lunch at a nearby restaurant.It's on to ancient Patara next, to explore the ruined city which dates back to the 8th century BCE. It was once an important harbour for the Lycian League, playing a significant role in politics and trade. Notable for being the birthplace of St. Nicholas – better known as Father Christmas – Patara features well-preserved ruins like the Triumphal Arch and Bouleuterion, offering insights into the past. After your visit, head to the golden sands of Patara beach for some time to relax.

We zaten ruimschoots op tijd op de bus te wachten aan de lobby van het hotel maar de bus kwam gewoonweg niet, enkele keren de servicedesk gebeld en gedaan, bleek de bus uiteindelijk voltallig te zijn en vertrokken. Blijkbaar had de TUI man die de boeking gemaakt had de verkeerde datum ingeboekt, nl een week later als we al terug thuis zijn. Er is een klacht opgesteld en hij heeft zich verontschuldigd, nu nog enkel ons geld terug krijgen

This was amazing tour guide was brilliant very know his stuff and was super friendly. He gave us the option to stay longer if we wanted and offer to take pics of the family for use too. Made sure noone was left behind during the walk and constantly asked if anyone wanted to stop for a drink/toilet break. He involved everyone on the tour and during free time he walked around to offer his help answer questions and make sure we was all safe. He was the best this tour was amazing because of him

Een hele leuke, avontuurlijke en leerzame dag gehad. Bij de watervallen kon je naar de waterval lopen, raften of ziplinen. Ik heb geen spijt dat wij de avontuurlijke route wandelen naar de watervallen gekozen hebben! Wat was het daar mooi! Super dag gehad! Aanrader!

Gut gefallen: - die Quad-Tour am Wasserfall - Auswahl beim Mittagessen mit Vorbestellung - sehr netter Guide - sehr interessante Tour Nicht so gut gefallen: - standen niicht auf der Liste; daher anfänglich Verwirrung - defekte Mikrofonanlage im Bus - rutschige Steine bei Tlos; nochmals Teilnehmer auf festes Schuhwerk; teils Handlauf wäre für Ältere schön - der Sand in Patara war so heiß; Teilnehmer auf Badeschuhe hinweisen

Spent most of the nearly 10hrs on a bus with small seats, not comfortable. The archeological site had a very steep climb to the top only suitable for fit people Lunch was uncomfortable, sat on the floor on mats with no table to eat on, subsequently had to eat with plates on our legs, my wife burned her legs on the hot plate, although trout was good it was accompanied with horrible salad and cold spaghetti which we left. Waterfall was not suitable for any ages having to wade rocks/ water.

Our guide was excellent. He shared loads of information about the areas we were visiting and those that we passed through. Obviously the locations we visited were fixed but he gave a great deal of flexibility about what we did at each site. The food option was pretty good for an ‘included lunch’ Although we had to pay for drinks these weren’t expensive. The waterfall was unbelievable - take jelly shoes or rent some there. River rafting option was fun but no time to get changed and on coach

Dla mnie wszystko bylo bardzo ciekawe i interesujace. Ja mialam osobisty problem, poniewaz nie jestem angieskojezycz i nie do konca zrozumialam przewodnika. Niestety ten problem dotyczy Polaków starszego pokolenia a jeszcze bardziej jezeli, ktos podrózuje sam. Pozdrawiam

Enjoyed learning about the history of Turkey and the ruins at Tlos and Patara. The walk to see the tombs at Tlos requires good shoes and care but we were warned of this. Lunch and waterfall walk at Gizlikent were good with options to participate in other activities such as a zip wire, river rafting and quad biking. Patara beach was ok. Windy and start of season so facilities not fully functional. Elif our guide was very knowledgeable, approachable and flexible.

Waterfall was very difficult to get to and involved a large amount of steps and very difficult terrain which I wasn’t warned sufficiently about. I had to give up on the way and put a lot of effort into it without seeing it. Excellent lunch.

Ignore the comments about this being a wet and wild tour. It’s not. It’s a visit to fabulous historical sites plus a walk through a cool, lush gorge to a waterfall. Elif is a fantastic guide with deep knowledge of the area’s history and archaeology. We loved Tlos and Patara. Gizlikent Gorge with lunch was a welcome break from the mid-day heat. Lots of walking. We were tired at the end of the day. We could have done without the visit to Patara beach but others in the group liked it so hey-ho…

An amazing day out! The guide was exceptionally knowledgeable and a lovely person. Tlos is a stunning site with layers of history mixed together and the views are beautiful. The gorge and the waterfall was a fantastic experience. Water shoes or trainers you don't mind getting wet are a must, wading up to the waterfall is uneven in places but great fun & the waterfall is all the reward you need. Lunch was well cooked and the service good. We choose to spend 2 hours at Patara beach. 5* trip

Guide E. (w) war großartig! Erlebnis insgesamt eine 10/10, so vielfältig und interessant. Die Eindrücke werden noch lange nachwirken, einfach ein toller Tag gewesen! Da stören auch die zwischenzeitlichen Bustouren überhaupt nicht.

Er was goede uitleg wat de excursie inhield van Rose en ook.onderweg kregen wij heel veel informatie over de geschiedenis van vroeger. Ook in Tlos werd er goed opgelet bij het bezoeken van de site dat je niet uitgleed want er waren veel losse steentjes en was soms glad.

Guide was wonderful and is what made the tour. There should have been more detailed info in the listing regarding the uneven ground and the rocks to get to the walking the gorge. We didn’t see any waterfall. What is lacking generally is the information about the experience rather than the experience itself

My issue with this was that we were not aware that this was a wet and wild tour. You start by soaking everyone with a water pistol fight. This needs to be advertised so you can dress appropriately and not ruin your clothes. If I wanted to book a wet and wild jeep safari we would have booked with animal. TUI please make sure your advertising and description is accurate and this was very misleading. On a better note they do take you to some amazing and beautiful places.

This is a brilliant full on day. Be prepared for plenty exercise and heat. But its worth the effort. City of Tlos was unexpectedly amazing. Well worth the climb, and worth listening to the guide. The gorge trek is jaw dropping. Recommend good waterproof shoes. Sea shoes will work but it can get sore on your feet from some jagged underwater stones. Make sure they are non slip!. Zip bag for your camera/phone also essential in case of slips, which we saw. Take water with you. Amazing day out

The first stop was a carpet factory which is i really did not appreciate. If I want a carpet i would buy it in the UK The lunch at the second stop was cold and cold spaghetti is not nice although the other items were palatable. The water fall is not for the faint hearted or the unwell, 200 steps down and then 300 metres along a stream bed The last stop was very impressive.

Overall we loved it. We really enjoyed the beauty of the gizilikent gorge and the activity’s available.It was interesting learning about local culture and the ancient sites. We wished we would have been able to go into the Saklikent Gorge but due to rainfall there was risk of flood so we couldn’t go- I think this should be made clearer when booking that you may not be able to enter the larger gorge. We wish we had more time to explore the market stalls at Saklikent.

Prachtige kloven om doorheen te lopen. Gelukkig geen kleedjes meer hoeven te kijken, dat had ook geen enkele zin gehad. Drie kwart van de mensen lag op de terugweg te slapen
