And with this expert-led Reykjavík whale-watching tour, you're likely to learn a thing or two about these incredible creatures, too.Your whale-watching trip departs from Reykjavík harbour, in the heart of the city. From here, you'll head out to sea, en route to Faxaflói Bay.As you glide through the water, your expert captain and guide will tell you a bit more about the whales and birdlife common to this area. With luck, you'll get to spot Iceland's population of whales, dolphins and porpoises in their natural habitat. You'll spend a couple of hours at sea, giving you a good chance of an unforgettable animal encounter.

Picked up by bus, taken to the boat. Given either long coats or overalls which were water and wind proof. Skipper took out and we saw humpback whales. A wonderful experience. We'll work the money.

When we boarded there was a general scrimmage to find and get into the waterproof suits, with no member of staff to assist. This needs to be made more orderly. I enjoyed being able to stay inside and had great views. My husband enjoyed being able to be outside the whole time to photograph.

We enjoyed the trip, we saw a humpback Whale and spent some time searching for other species. We saw the whale within 15 minutes so the 3 hours felt a little bit long but that was only because we were very lucky.

We were lucky enough to see 2 whales and plenty of birds. No dolphins or seals as suggested when booking the excursion. It could be made more clear that there is a chance you won't see anything at all except birds. You are only really made aware of this when you get to Iceland.

Great tour, run efficiently, knowledgeable guide. Sea was choppy which was to be expected in February but this was pre-empted and crew offered free sea sickness tablets, which was a nice touch.

The whole experience was fabulous from the start to the end, the guide on board was a French gentleman who had lots of knowledge and was very informative, the boat was very clean and the staff very attentive and helpful. No negatives, other than seeing more whales but hey that's nature and can't be booked to appear!!!

It should be called whale spotting not whale watching. It seems that you’re out on the boat for 3hours with the hope of seeing one maybe 2 some days nothing.

More space inside the boat for the trip back would have been a bonus as we were all freezing by then. But seeing whales and dolphins was worth the cold! Hard to hear the commentary over sound of wind and engine.
