A train ride through the Central Highlands of Sri Lanka is one of the most scintillating ways to discover the country. You'll trundle through the verdant hills to discover the Temple of the Tooth Relic in Kandy, as well as a few other green delights on this full day tour.A scenic train ride through the Central Highlands sets the tone for a great day of exploration. Watch the rolling hills, tea plantations and lush wilderness pass as you make tracks towards Kandy. Once you're there, it's off to the Temple of the Tooth Relic – a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It's Sri Lanka's most sacred temple, and the complex also includes a royal palace.And you can also look forward to visits to a botanical garden, a tea plantation and factory in Giragama, and a spice garden in Mawanella. What's more, lunch is included.

Tågresan var inte vad jag tänkt mig, placerad mellan två fönster. Guiden tyckte man kunde gå till dörren och titta ut, vilket verkade livsfarligt. det skulle ingå mat och dryck, mat fick vi men blev inte erbjuden en droppe vatten på hela dagen. En lång och jobbig hemresa (5,5tim) En annars intressant utflykt med stor utvecklingspotential.

Uns hat es gefallen das der Guide so viele Informationen und Geschichten erzählte. Die Zugfahrt war einfach wunderschön und ist absolut empfehlenswert man kann Fenster und Türen des Zuges öffnen und raus filmen /fotografieren Der Zahntempel war mega interessant und der Botanische Garten wunderschön. Der Fahrer war nett und fuhr sehr gelassen, mir wurde nicht schlecht. Man muss bedenken das die Rückfahrt von Kandy nach Hikkaduwa 4h dauert. Aber es ging gut, es wurde eine Pause gemacht.

The train journey was great. The views from the train were spectacular and we got to see the country from a different perspective. The temple was a really good experience and the guide was so knowledgable giving us all the information about it. The lunch we had was delicious and had great river views. The botanical gardens were beautiful. We enjoyed seeing how tea was made too at the tea factory. Just a great day in Kandy.

Het was wel een erg lange dag! De treinreis was zeker de highlight. We wilden meer tijd bij de tempel hebben om zelf rond te kijken. Bij de botanische tuin hadden we liever alleen rond kunnen kijken ipv met de gids. De sieraadfabriek was alleen op het verkopen gericht - niet zo positief. Spicetuin was erg commercieel - die vonden we ook wat minder. Theefabriek erg leuk maar ergens random in de veld van een theeboer rondlopen was raar. Op de terug weg werd veel te hard gereden omdat het zo laat

Le + : trajet en train avec les locaux permet de voir défiler beaucoup de paysages sublimes, temple de la dent de Bouddha et jardin botanique magnifique, visite de la fabrique de thé intéressante, nos deux guides au top. Nous avons passé une superbe journée en leur compagnie avec beaucoup de ********** humeur. Le - :"Visite" de la fabrique d'objets en bois et du jardin des épices qui ne sont juste que des attrapes touristes avec leurs pseudos produits "artisanaux" et produits "miracles". A fuir

Wir haben als Paar einen Tagesausflug mit dem Zug nach Kandy gebucht. Wir wurden am 13.03.24 um 04.15 Uhr von unserem Hotel pünklich abgeholt. Wir wurden besten betreut. Wir hatten einen PKW mit Fahrer und Reiseführer. Die ganze Reise war ein tolles Erlebnis. Wir würden die Reise noch einmal buchen.

Sehr schöne Tour, die toll organisiert war. Wir hatten einen deutschsprachigen Tourguide, der uns viel erklärt hat und auf unsere Wünsche eingegangen ist. Ein wirklich tolles Mittagessen (die Getränke waren hier nicht inklusive, sollte vielleicht vorher erwähnt werden).
