One of the best family days out in Menorca. First up, you'll visit Lloc de Menorca animal park, a sanctuary for species from all over the world. And then you'll enjoy downtime at the blue-flag Son Bou beach. Nicola, one of our guides on this tour, says, ‘Small children will love the animal splash park and indoor play areas. And you can get your holiday snaps with a variety of animals, including a snake.'Set in beautiful, flower-filled gardens, Lloc de Menorca is home to all sorts of farm animals and exotic creatures. The welfare of the animals is the utmost priority. Nicola says, ‘Rescued animals enjoy a new life, in what would be their own normal environments.' And Debbie, another of our guides, adds, ‘The Lloc is so much more than a zoo – it's a sanctuary to many abused animals from circuses, illegal trafficking and even overbreeding.'As you follow the paths around the ponds, you'll come face-to-face with playful monkeys, meet friendly dwarf goats and get up close to everything from kangaroos and giant tortoises to porcupines and peacocks. There's also a reptile house where you can have your picture taken with a snake. Spot lots of birds in the aviary, including cheeky parrots hiding in the leaves. To round off the day, we make the 15-minute journey to sun-kissed Son Bou – others take you to beaches further away. Boasting almost 3km of blond sand, it's the longest stretch of beach on Menorca. You'll have around an hour here to stretch out for a sunbathe, go for a swim or have a poke around the souvenir shops. And if you opt in for lunch, you'll sit down to a tasty meal in Restaurant Arena.

The zoo was lovely. I am not very mobile and was worried about the trip. I could access the majority of the site quite easily, the driver tipped the coach to allow for easier boarding. My kids loved the animal ark particularly the Lemurs. At Son Bao, all we did was have a meal and a look on 2 shops as I was tired and didn't think the beach was a good idea. The coach driver pulled over a few times on the sat back to point out sites worth seeing which was really nice.

We really enjoyed the animal sanctuary and the work they do for the animals that are abandoned or not well. You can see the love the keepers have for their jobs and the privilege it is to do what they do, they are so happy. Feeding time is fun at the lemer enclosure they jump all around you , and also have a nice restaurant as well. The beach is nice, but you can save some money by buying your own lunch if you want.

The animal sanctuary was good, plenty of time to get round it all and stop for a drink. However the beach part of the day is not long enough to visit the beach, shops and have lunch comfortably, felt very rushed for the afternoon.

We enjoyed the animal park and the beech but a better explanation regarding the food inclusion, would have been helpful. We were told food was included but when we asked the rep on the trip they said we were not down for it and that it was not included in the trip price. Not explained on booking. However quite glad that it wasn't as it was at an Irish pub. Not quite the Spanish experience.

The animal sanctuary was amazing, peaceful, friendly, personal i would recommend everyone to go there and support such a good cause. The beach was nice for some free time. Rep was friendly and informative, approachable. Timing of the day was just right.

They never told us it was an hour walk from the coach to the beach we never made it to the beach as I suffer with health problems and couldn’t walk any more and my children was to hot and aching and couldn’t walk the people that did make it to the beach said it was horrible dirty and to far to walk

I enjoyed getting to hold a baby snake and had food at the zoo was nice and good standard, not too expensive. Its a sanctuary so all the animals are rescue animals but there was no lions, tigers , elephants, giraffe. I didn't like that most of the animals were free walking in the bits they were in . Some jump on you like the lema and i have a 3 year old and didn't like that it scared her

Such a well organised trip. The animals at the zoo are well cared for and their environments are great. Lovely to see they have been rescued where otherwise they would have been destroyed. The Sou Bou beach was amazing lovely clear sea and sandy beach, would have liked more time here.

Felt that our time at the zoo and the beach was very rushed due to being on the coach and collecting other passengers for a long period of time, around an hour and a half there and around 2 hours to return. The coach was also involved in a traffic collision on the return journey.

The price for this trip with food included is not worth what TUI charge. Was only in the zoo 2.5 hrs it was very small and clean. Then took to beach and restaurant Irish bar, chicken food was horrible and could not be eaten. Went somewhere else to eat and had pizza. Very bad storm happened on our visit and had to take shelter so could not see any of the beach.

The info from Nicola the TUI rep was key to making the most of this trip. She supplied all the key times so we didn't miss a thing. If you visit the right animals at the right times the trip is very interactive. Brilliant experience. Rep first class.

Really enjoyed the day. The TUI reps on the day were great. The animal Sanctuary was fantastic . We could have spent longer at both locations; two and a half hours at each was not long enough. We also paid the same price for our two year old as we did for our six year old despite entry to the sanctuary being free for under 3s. I feel this needs to be addressed.

Absolutely loved Lloc de Menorca. Amazing experiences with the Lemurs, snakes, goats and birds. The beech however was hard work in the heat with the walk from the coach to the beech. It was then very packed but we managed to enjoy a swim in the sea after which we then had a hard walk back again in the heat to the coach. Still enjoyed the day as the animal experiences made it all worth it.

Had an amazing time at Lloc de Menorca, the variety of animals was awesome, you are able to get up close to some of them. Our son really enjoyed holding the snakes. We would have been happy to end the day here. Free time at Son Bou was not great, we got the 1/2 chicken and chips which were floating in grease. The beach was packed by the time we arrived at 1:30ish and there was no where to sit comfortably. No where to wash sand off feet although we were asked not to bring sand on the bus.

The animal sanctuary while lovely didn't o?take long to go round and was only €18 to enter. We were then dropped off at son bou beach at least a 2 mile plus walk in blazing heat the beach was packed no sunbeds or shade with a 1 year old this was horrendous. We had a quick dip to cool off and then walked back to drop off point another long walk I blazing heat. Not one aspect was enjoyable. Not sure why this cost €42 per person as it definitely wasn't worth it

The experience itself was great. Loc De Menorca was fantastic. The kids loved the lemars and holding the snakes. We did find we had to rush this part of the experience and would have preferred more time there rather than rushing from animal to animal with little time to read the information, or just to relax for a short time before having to leave for Son Bou. Son Bou beach is lovely, the area is not as friendly as Cala en Blanes but we were only there for the beach which was awesome.

The Lloc de Menorca was great. All the animals are rescued, so it doesn't feel like a zoo. Being in the lemur enclosure for feeding time was so much fun. They were sitting on our arms and shoulders waiting for their food and the kids absolutely loved it. Son Bou beach is lovely. It's very full and had no sunbeds to shade the littles, but the water was beautiful.

Cadre agréable, bungalows bien aménagés. Dommage qu’il n’y ait pas de voilages : les fenêtres donnent sur la terrasse du voisin, donc rideaux occultants obligés en plein jour. Hôtel fréquenté quasi exclusivement par Anglais et Allemands. Pas de francophones, animations et activités : pas en français : décevant. Restaurant bruyant, repas répétitifs, desserts peu variés. Petite crique 10 min. Points positifs: Marina 5 min, bus pour Ciutadella. Si vous ne parlez pas anglais, je ne recommande pas.

We really enjoyed the zoo, however there wasnt enough time to see everything/the animals being fed etc so more time at the zoo would have been appreciated. When we got the pub for lunch, rather than rushing to the beach we stayed there due to a few reasons, it was really hot and we wouldnt have had much time at the beach. We think it would have been better to have more time at the zoo, lunch at the zoo and time to browse the shop with pick up at 3-3.30pm so you wouldnt have had to rush.

Lloc de Menorca was great. Son Bou beach wasn't great. I think you should just make it a half day to the zoo or go somewhere else. There's not much to do in Son Bou if you don't want to go to the beach. Also, the Irish bar for lunch is tacky and a terrible choice. Another point: lloc charge over 65s the same entry as a child but Tui charge OAPs full price. That's appalling.

Fantastic day! Zoo was lovely. Not too big that it takes hours to get around but lots to see and closer up than any other zoo. Well shaded. Wonderful splash park for children. Nice cafe for food and drinks and gift shop. Perfect amount of time for looking around. On to Son Bou which was only 15 minutes away. 10 minute walk to beach was easily manageable. Lots of bars for food and drink. Beautiful beach with lovely warm water. Plenty of sand but also some rocks to snorkel around to see the fish.

As a family had a good time at the Zoo, was enough time to get round it and grab an ice cream. Enjoyed the beach, didn't mind the walk (it was mentioned that others complained). Improve - the bus was late though an excuse was later given, no communication from rep who walked past everybody waiting at 9.30am. When asked about Gluten free food at Son Bou, tour guide had no answer other than to try the Irish pub, when Las Dunas beside the Irish bar had a full Gluten free menu.

The time at the beach is not long enough. It is quite a long walk from the coach in the very hot weather and as it is a busy beach, there are no parasols or any shade or sun loungers. So you’re just dropped off with nowhere to sit or leave your belongings, therefore not relaxing and just watching the time. The zoo is very nice, well worth the visit. My sons enjoyed handling the snakes and seeing the various animals.

The visit to see the annimals was great. We were there to see them being fed so the timing was perfect. The day was hot and sunny but there was plenty of shade and a visit to the cafe was very reasonably priced. The toilet facilities were very clean and well looked after.

Hier stimmen m.M.n. Preis-Leistung nicht. Der Zoo ist ganz nett. Wir dachten zuerst, dass die Zeit viel zu kurz wäre um ihn zu besichtigen, was sich als nicht ganz richtig herausstellte. Etwas mehr Zeit wäre okay, aber nicht zwingend nötig. Beim Ausflug nach Son Bou sind wir sehr enttäuscht. Nicht wegen der Kulisse -diese war sehr schön. Der Bus hielt unnötig sehr weit entfernt. Man läuft sehr lange. Aber es war viel zu wenig Zeit. Späte Abholung am Hotel und frühe Abreise von 15.30 vom Strand.

It would have been useful.to know how long we got at the second destination before we finished at the first as we thought there might be more.time to.get food and then go to the beach but ended up only having 40 minutes at the beach including walking there and changing etc. We had a great lunch though but it did take up most of our time at San Bou

La responsable des excursions nous a tellement bien vendu le zoo que l'on lui a fait confiance a ses dire environ 3h de visite en marchant doucement 45mn pas un zoo plus un refuge beaucoup d'animaux en béton dommage pour le prix exorbitant

The bus turned up late, no Tui rep, therfore lost 30 min at zoo. Dropped us a long way off the beach, when asked why was told that coach was not allowed any closer, on return bus went past beach. A very expensive day, with no TUI reps around. Very disappointing, would expect a refund

The Tui rep did not send our tickets to the tour guide so we spent ages sorting it out. The boat ride was boring and unorganised. We couldn't here any of the information about the history. Couldn't move because the boat was full. I didn't enjoy at all.

The zoo was great we enjoyed it very much. Loads to see and do for little ones. The beach is very nice with white sand would have love to stay longer. Tips 1. don't buy the food deal not worth it. Bring your own or grab food at the zoo 2. Don't take this tour as the walk from the bus take to long to the beach. Rent a car for the day and longer day better value. Sorry TUI your reps show up at zoo then the bus stop is rubbish we like to ear the story's on the drive makes the trip for us.

The holiday was superb !!! It’s tailed for young families so perfect if you’re at that stage……We went with our 7 month old daughter…..The staff were all brilliant…from entertainment, cleaning or catering they all seemed to do a great job… Cedric leading the entertainment team really stood out… there was always something to do on the schedule and the night entertainment was great for all ages the entertainment staff were really talented and engaging… tour guides were also really helpful

I have complained and not got anywhere with my complaint. The driver was very rude, started shouting my at us in Spanish. He parked 20-25 minutes walk away from the beach. We got to the beach and couldn’t swim as it was contaminated. The zoo what was advertised as a zoo wasn’t it was a farm with sanctuary animals. The overall trip wasn’t good.

The bus hadn't even arrived by 9.30 which was the set off time, we eventually left at 09.55 the kids were very frustrated. We still stopped at another hotel which didn't help. The zoo was good but a heads up about the beach being a very long walk from the parked bus would have been nice, the guide was ok but the driver was a right misery.

Enjoyed the zoo but did not get to beach after having lunch as seemed not enough time so explored shops instead which was good

The zoo is really nice, there are very few animals in all as it's very small and certainly doesn't take the 2.5hours given to explore. There are some unique experiences like the Lemur forest which are nice. The trip to the beach is more to pad out the day and really isn't worth it, the zoo trip would have been enough. I think it's also very expensive for a child it cost me €25 for basically a bus ride for our 2 year old as kids under 3 get Free entry to the zoo.

Very expensive excursion for what you get. It’d a small zoo, the lunch wasn’t worth the 20euro extra per person! And we only had an hour at the beach. Pricey for the time you get there.

Loved the park. The journey was over 1.5 hours and this should be explained/advertised. The air con in the bus didn’t work - we were told 5 minutes and it would start to cool but it didn’t which made the journey really uncomfortable. For this reason would not recommend this trip. We would recommend making your own way there as the park was excellent and lovely. Only need 1.5-2 hours and it’d be good to have the option of just going to the park

It was a shame most things were closed and beach was very windy with no swimming. The zoo was great, Nicola very informative. Pre ordered food was plentiful.

The experience at the zoo was excellent especially knowing that the animals was all rescued The beach was very clean and excellent. I’m very relaxing. Our overall experience was fantastic and the tui rap was 2nd to non-and she was very helpful indeed thank you so much for a very fantastic experience

Lovely trip! A fabulous little zoo with opportunities to be hands-on with the animals, stroking the goats, feeding lemurs and holding snakes! The beach was nice and great for a paddle and relax.

The zoo part was great however the tour guides walled off quite fast, the food was not nice which is disappointing due to the prepaid lunch and the winds were too strong to even go to the beach we arrived and stayed a few minutes and had to move

Transfer very efficient and friendly staff. Lloc de menorca zoo was brilliant a great morning spent and such a different experience to typical British zoos. We did feel our visit was a bit rushed though and would have preferred to stay at the zoo for longer. Son Bou was a lovely area but the weather wasn’t great and the beach was red flagged so we couldn’t get on the beach as the winds were too dangerous so our visit was a bit disappointing, would have thought TUI may have known this beforehand

The animal park was very good and I would have enjoyed it much more had I not been made a feast of from the insects that were feasting on me ! It would definitely have been a good idea to warn people of this before going so they could have purchased a repellent of some sort , luckily for me the kind lady at the shop gave me some cream to help with all the bites and it might be worth selling something in the shop there , I’m sure they’d do very well out of it! That part of the trip was too long.

Insgesamt war es ein schöner Tag, allerdings hatte man immer den Zeitdruck im Nacken. Entspannt durch den Zoo gehen - Fehlanzeige. Eher schnell durchhetzen, um alles zu sehen, bevor der Bus direkt weiterfährt. Insgesamt 1,5h bis wir am Zoo waren - etwas zu lange und der Bus hatte zu viele Haltestellen im Menschen einzusammeln. Eine halbe Stunde bis Stunde länger Sowohl im Zoo als am Strand hätten den Tag zu 100% besser gemacht. Auch preislich recht teuer.

Didn't realise we had to pay for the sun beds on the beach, cost me 30euros for 3 sunbeds for an hour. If I had realised I wouldn't have sat on them. Maybe a heads up on that but apart from that it was good.

The zoo was brilliant , animals all look happy and well cared for take 1 euro coins to feed the goats , food and drink available, a little splash park for the kids is good too. You can hold the snakes which was great . We didn't enjoy son bou at all , a fair walk from the coach to the beach , we didn't have the food included . The beach is full of seaweed which spoils it , would definitely do the zoo again but not son bou I'm sure there are nicer beaches
