Two very different Lanzarote experiences share equal billing in this Sunday morning tour. You'll get to spend time mixing with locals in Teguise's market – the biggest outdoor bazaar in the Canaries – and lapping up the Hollywood stardust of the legendary LagOmar. Ramona, one of our local guides, says, ‘LagOmar is one of my favourite places – a spectacular artwork-museum-house, where you can admire the genius of Manrique and Soto.'More than 360 stalls cram into Teguise's pretty plaza and adjacent cobbled streets, so you'll be spoilt for choice. Cue tables creaking with intricate Canarian lacework, foodstuffs and all sorts of jewellery, paintings and handicrafts. And it's all given a carnival atmosphere by local folk dancers, hair braiders and panpipe bands. What's more, any purchases help the local economy and community. Ramona says, ‘Teguise Sunday market isn't just about shopping – you can feel the real Canarian way of living, with bars, cafés and the history of this beautiful former capital of Lanzarote.'If the market is a feast of the senses, the LagOmar is a feast for your eyes. It was conceived by local architect Cesar Manrique and designed by local artist Jesus Soto. Set in a volcanic quarry, it looks like the sort of place where Bond arch-villain Ernst Blofeld plots world domination. The labyrinthine complex has a cave-bar, a restaurant, apartments and a museum. Local lore says it was briefly owned by Hollywood legend Omar Sharif, but he lost it in a game of cards.

Lagomar war super schön und es gab genügend Zeit vor ort. Der Markt war sehr voll und wenige rein Einheimische Stände dafür viele stände um gefakte Markensachen zu Kaufen. Die Stadt war sehr schön.

Gids praatte té snel. Wel weer veel mooie plekjes gezien. Markt viel tegen, veel van hetzelfde. Stadje zelf heel mooi!! Leuke afsluiting bij LagOmar, wat wel half uurtje langer had mogen duren.

Lagomar een mooie stop. Ook al was het huis slechts 24 uur van Omar Sharif, stukje geschiedenis. In de vulkaan verwerkt huis. De moeite waard om te bekijken. De markt is enorm groot en druk. Maar bijvoorbeeld Chanel nummer 5 voor € 20,- ?? Zal de rest ook nep zijn. Wat mooi was is dat er nog carnaval gevierd werd en verschillende bands nog spectaculair optraden. Vond dat de gids slecht Duits sprak.

The bus arrived on time and the guide was very knowledgable. She gave lots of information about the history and present time of Lanzarote. A longer stay at the market would have been appreciated to see more of the town and relax with a drink and something to eat but not everyone would want that. If returning woulf consider the market only trip but the TUI rep said this may be cancelled.

Lagomar was fantastic, it’s the only attraction we hadn’t seen on the island, and it didn’t disappoint. Unfortunately, due to the high winds and frequent rain, the open air market wasn’t as enjoyable as it could have been.

Waarom moest ik naar verzamelpunt op 1 km. ( in de stromende regen) Terwijl de bus door mijn (hotel) straat kwam? Andere passagiers werden gehaald en gebracht van/naar hun hotel. Ik ben na afloop wel netjes voor hotel afgezet.

George the guide who seemed to have a sense of humour at first went on to treat us like children. Lagomar is beautiful and worth a visit as it teguise, however I would get a taxi and do it on your own time. He would not tell us the time of the return coach so that we HAD NO CHOICE but to follow him and listen to him go on and on………. He said everything in German to be awkward before telling us the time of the return journey. He felt like a strict teacher on a school trip!

De gids was een leuke humorvolle vrouw, die veel info gaf en als een soort moeder-overste over ons waakte. Ze gaf ons haar **********, voor als we verdwaalden. Dat bleek echt nodig te zijn, want er waren een paar laatkomers, toen we wilden vertrekken. De tijd bij Lag-o-Mar mag wel tot een uur opgerekt worden,

Umfangreiche Innformationen während der gesamten Fahrt durch den Guide. Allerdings Dauerbeschallung in drei Sprachen ( englisch, deutsch, spanisch) . Bequemer Reisebus, sehenswerter Markt und Bazar mit individuellen kleinen Geschäften und Restauration. Großer Bazar. Lagomar , entworfenen von César Manrique, welcher die gesamte Insel durch Bau- und Kunstwerke prägt sehr imposant und erlebenswert. Nicht machbar für Menschen mit Geheinschränkung.

I enjoyed the market but unfortunately the house wasn't suitable for anyone with any walking problems.In fact 4 people couldn't even attempt the steps as they were too steep and no hand rails.I feel this problem should be made clearer.

Je krijgt een indruk van het vulkanisch landschap tijdens de rit. De markt is een toeristisch gebeuren, veel nep en erg druk. Het plaatsje ligt op 311 mtr hoogte. Jammer dat onze vriendelijke gids niets vertelde over het eiland. We zaten naast haar, dus ik kon vragen stellen. Het huis van de kunstenaar was apart, niets voor mensen die slecht ter been zijn vanwege vele trappen.

we have done this market before and nothing had really changed other than it's got a lot bigger and the coach and rep were as good as they could have been my one complaint is that you never explained that Lagomar had a lot steps that older people could not deal with so on that you failed.

Love the market. Be nice to go somewhere different than Lagomar. The market is ok. We like to explore out side of the market. Which we did. Been to Lahomar many times. First time we went our guild was not very talkative. Abrupt. Hardly any information. The second time Helga was very informative. Gave out so much information.

Lagomar ist wunderschön und absolut sehenswert. Der Markt, den wir im Anschluss besuchten, ist sehr groß. Die Auswahl alkerdings äusserst beschränkt auf Lederwaren, Mützen, Taschen etc. 1 Stunde statt 2 std Aufenthalt hätte mir dort genügt

Kompetente und sehr freundliche Reiseleitung. Die Aufenthaltsdauer an beiden Örtlichkeiten war gut bemessen. Man hätte auf dem Markt in Teguise wohl noch mehr Zeit verbringen können. Die vorgegebene Zeit war aber voll in Ordnung. Auch der Fahrer des Busses machte einen sehr sicheren und erfahrenen Eindruck. Insgesamt ein lohnenswerte Angebot.

De reisleidster was ludmilla uit Tsjechië die heel goed Duits,Engels en spaans sprak. Ze was een heel gezellige vrouw die heel goed schakelde tussen de Duitstalige en de Engelstalige toeristen. Ze kon goed vertellen onderweg en over de markt in Tequise. Ook bij Laq Omar het huis van Omar Sharif was ze goed. Een hele vriendelijke goedlachse vrouw die goed was. Toen we uitstappen en fooi wilden geven voor haar en de buschauffeur zei ze dat hij het verdiend had. Groetjes van de Hollandse toeriste

Coach to Teguise was comfortable and "on time". Just 2 hotel pick-ups. Teguise market was plentiful however my party of 3 spent just enough time there to enable us to see more of Teguise itself. A beautiful town, so much to see. We stopped at a charming, traditional 'cafe' off the main streets. So glad we visited Lagomar,a unique location, surprises at every turn. A big shout out for Rob, coach guide who provided such interesting info re.Lanzarote. Another 20-30 mins at Lagomar would be perfect

Entertainment was poor for adults buffet bar slushy machines always broke ,Tui staff were good. Are room was full of roaches when we arrived the room was clean. And they did come and spray it ..what really spoiled it was the entertainment, had 2 singers on all week that’s all why don’t these places have at least a Dj ? Playing at night and maybe some time or adults most places shut down for kids at 8pm as I travel a lot you learn a ok holiday but nothing more

The Sunday markets are great & you can get some unique locally made pieces. Felt safe (but obviously one needs to be aware of their surroundings). There was no pestering or people following you around. The LagOmar museum is absolutely gorgeous. Interesting history about the property & how Omar Sherif lost it. Great experience & took some gorgeous pictures.?

50 minutes pour Lagomar sont clairement insuffisantes. Il faudrait plutot écourter la visite au marché. De plus cette excursion nous a ete vendue comme étant en Français alors que c’etait en Allemand et Anglais. C’est un détail mais ce n’est pas professionnel.

Lagomar is heel mooi. Alleen de vrije tijd op de markt in tehuis is veel tekort. Niet eens tijd gehad om te eten. Snel een kopje koffie en ik denk de helft van de markt niet gezien. Beetje jammer.
