Canarians call La Palma ‘la isla bonita' – the beautiful island – which is quite the compliment. It's so enchanting that Rudi, one of our guides, decided to make it his home 40 years ago. ‘I love doing this tour,' he says. ‘It shows you the island's past and present – from one of the world's biggest observatories to Tajogaite, Europe's newest volcano.' Plus, you'll discover wonders such as Roque de los Muchachos and the primeval Caldera de Taburiente.Your adventure kicks off as you venture up the 2,500m-high Roque de los Muchachos – La Palma's highest peak – passing the domed astronomical observatory on the way. At the top, take in the views over the 8km-wide Caldera de Taburiente, the island's only national park. Ringed by cloud-bursting peaks, this immense bowl is thick with pine forests and waterfalls. Your guide will fill you in on the park's history and how your visit will help conserve its ecosystems.Next, it's on to Puntagorda – arguably one of the prettiest villages in the Canaries. Nestled between two ravines, rows of pine and almond trees flank cobbled streets that enjoy sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean. Here, you'll have some time to have a poke around the weekly farmer's market, with stalls dedicated to local produce and handicrafts. At El Time viewpoint, there are heart-pounding views over the Angustias gorge. We'll also make our way to Tajuya viewpoint, from where you can observe the scarred, inferno-like slopes of the Tajogaite volcanic cone, formed from an eruption in autumn 2021.

A good way to see a lot of the island from a coach. Be warned roads are very twisty so not for those with travel sickness. Amazing driving by Pablo. Lots of info from Rudi - some relevant some not !! Good to stop at the “new” volcano but would have liked a bit longer to go to the lava tube . Fabulous views above the clouds

Die fast 9 stündige Tour mit dem Busfahrer Angel und dem Guide Koen aus Belgien war sehr informativ, kurzweilig und sehr zu empfehlen. Koen gewährte uns tolle Einblicke und hat uns La Palma in seiner sehr freundlichen Art nahe gebracht. In Deutsch und Englisch.

Would like more time to enjoy the exhibition at the Roque, they do things so well here, modern and informative but it feels not enough time here, would prefer more time here than going to farmers market. Have had guide Rudi in the past, this year, sorry can't remember his name but had a young Belgian man. I didn't think it possible but he was even better than Rudi, a mind full of information, lots of facts I had not heard previously, exceptional.

Excellent driver, excellent tour guide: very knowledgeable. Great views, plenty of comfort stops. Very enjoyable day. Only downside was limited food opportunity for lunch: but guess that will change when the restaurant opens!

Very informative and loved seeing the telescopes. On the negative side we would have liked to have stayed longer at each of the stops as a lot of travelling time and not enough time to enjoy the places we stopped at.

Unser Guide Rudi kennt sich wirklich auf der Insel aus und hatte ein ausgezeichnetes Wissen. Der Fahrer hat uns um jede noch so scharfe Kurve gelenkt. Es gab keine kommerziellen Halts, was überaus positiv zu bewerten ist.

Driver excellent - felt safe. Guide also excellent, very informative. I enjoyed all the interesting facts. Timings not good - not enough time to see the exhibition in the observatory and too much time on breaks, especially at the farmers’ market where most things were sold out. Suggest you find a better lunch stop.

Excellent driver. Interesting guide, Rudi. Good to see the island. BUT, not enough time at Roque de Los Muchachos (where we were told NOT to go to the viewpoint!) or at observatories museum. Much more time needed in both these places. Puntagorda market nearly closed, long queues for food at the few open stalls. Advise take lunch and drinks and cut out this wasted stop. Viewpoint for gorge uninspiring, but last loo stop had wonderful coffee and excellent view of lava field. Overall too crammed in

Zu wenig Zeit an allen Stationen, aber eine gute Anregung, um einmal selbst zum Roque Muchachos zu fahren. Bei der 30 minutigen Pause 20 min auf den Kaffee gewartet und fünf Min. zum Bus laufen.

We liked the hotel considerably because of the amount of pools it has, setting location (even with the winding roads to get there, atmosphere of the place, good food, the great gym the Princess Hotel has. I would also like to say the staff at the Princess Hotel are fantastic and do their respective jobs with smiles on their faces. I do feel that the place needs to be better maintained in certain areas & as long as that is the case you should make customers aware, thank you.

The guide was very good. Pleasant, helpful and provide a running commentary the whole day. Very knowledgeable. Felt very safe with the driver round some very narrow steep roads. Would have liked more time at the volcano and observatory. The farmers market was just about finished when we arrived?

I found it be an awesome experience. The greenery of the forest, the heights we travelled, the lunar landscape of the telescopes and visitor centre. The stops we made for refreshments at the local markets, the Tavern that has the most awesome views. I'm only sorry I haven't done it before now. I would ask you to consider smaller vehicles... minibuses perhaps as the roads are very twisty and potentially dangerous. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Overall enjoyed the trip but not enough time allocated to be spent at the observatories and that area farmers market a let down needs to be omitted from trip in favour to more time at observatory you can visit a farmers market anyplace the observatories and thrift location are unique and perhaps a once in a lifetime experience

This tour really should have been cancelled due to atrocious weather and health and safety concerns. 1. There was heavy cloud cover/rain from half way up the mountain. Views (major reason for the tour) were non existant from that point. The viewing point was closed. This must have been known before starting the tour (a simple phone call to the Visitor Centre!). The option to cancel should have been given. 2. Both driver/guide left coach to remove boulders from road. Dangerous! I require refund!

The weather was terrible. Once into the mountain there was mist, heavy rain and wind. It was very dangerous. The bus had to keep stopping to clear fallen rocks off the road. Very scary and unpleasant trip. The tui rep later said the trip should have been cancelled due to the conditions. It was so pointless taking visitors up in those conditions. We saw nothing. It was just a money making scam. But as I said it was very dangerous and one day if this practice continues some1 will ge hurt

We felt this trip should have been cancelled due to bad weather in the mountains - cloud ,strong winds and horizontal rain. Very disappointed as a long drive up to see nothing of what should have been spectacular views- they must have known with now good forecasting that it would be like this. I went last year and enjoyed it so much I was keen to take my friend- what a disappointment. The guide was also worried about road being closed in which case we would have had to turn back.

6.5 hours on a coach. Should have been cancelled as rock falls on road which driver had to clear as bus too big to turnaround. No proper planned lunch stop apart from disappointing marker stop. Cafe stop not long enough to use loos and have a drink. Cloud and rain made it worse as no views. Please Tui. Cancel such trips in future if weather is bad.

We really enjoyed the day and the guide and driver were excellent. The tip to take some food with you was good as only the farmers market was available to buy food and a short stop on the way back but that wasn't until 4.30pmThe views etc were spectacular and the only downside of the whole day was the fact we left the hotel at 8 30am and didn't get back until 6 30pm

Wunderschöne Tagestour über Serpentinen bis zum Gipfel Roque de los Muchachos. Unbedingt warme Sachen mitnehmen, wir sind bei 21 Grad losgefahren und hatten 5 Grad auf dem Gipfel, der stellenweise mit Schnee bedeckt war. Der Abstecher zum Besucherzentrum des Observatoriums war toll ,aber viel zu kurz. Preis-Leistungsverhältnis absolut top !! Unser Guide war aus Belgien und hat die gesamte Gruppe in tadellosen Deutsch, Englisch und Spanisch informiert.

Wir hatten Rudi als Guide der alles super erklärt hat. Er hat jede Frage beantwortet. Außerdem hatten wir richtig Glück mit dem Wetter es war bei 2426Meter ein strahlender Sonnenschein und so konnten wir die weite genießen . Auch der Blick auf den Vulkan war topp. Rudi hatte richtig gute Stellen zum Photo machen. Der ganze Tag war perfekt

Der Aufenthalt beim Bauernmarkt war etwas entäuschend. Als wir ankamen war schon fast alles vorbei und einige Stände wurden bereits abgebaut und die Auslagen waren leer. Diese Zeit hätte ich lieber im Bereich des Observatoriums verbracht. Ansonsten tolle Ausfahrt.

Insgesamt ein echt cooler Ausflug. Man kann viele interessante Sachen über die Insel erfahren. Es stimmt, dass die Zeit im Museum Roque de los Muchachos zu kurz ist. Trotzdem war es echt interessant. Der Guide war sympathisch und hat spannend erzählt.

The day was too long . Not enough time spent at the observatory the experienced was rushed . The farmers market was a waste of time & should be dropped from the tour . We arrived as it was packing up , we couldn’t get suitable refreshment … why would I want produce on an all inclusive holiday? We should have stopped at a restaurant with a view . The last stop wasn’t necessary& half the coach didn’t get off to look another volcano as they had had enough . The day was too long .

Everything was great and Cuin the guide was brilliant and very knowledgeable. The Farmers Market we felt was a waste of time. We got there about an hour before it closed, there was very little left to see or eat. I understand the constraints of time but I think everyone else was of the same opinion. We were all ready to get back on the bus.

Die Tour zum Roque de los Muchachos kann man nur empfehlen. Unser Guide Kuhn war sehr kompetent, äußerst freundlich und er hat uns interessante Einblicke und Informationen über La Palma vermittelt und das in zwei Sprachen (Englisch und deutsch). Wir haben einen sehr kompakten ersten Überblick über die Insel auf dieser Tagestour erhalten. Die Pausen zum Fotografieren und Kaffeetrinken waren optimal bemessen. Ein großes Lob gilt auch dem Fahrer.

Kompetenter, freundlicher Guide (euer Belgier). Nicht zu viele, aber genau die richtigen Infos. Gute Auswahl der Ausflugsziele, für mich zeitlich zu eng getaktet. Hätte mir z.B. mehr Zeit gewünscht für das Besucherzentrum auf dem Roque de los Muchachos, aber bei einem Tag ist wohl auch nicht viel mehr drin. Insgesamt sehr gelungen und das Wetter war auch perfecto!

A little more time at observatory museum would have allowed a more full tour but excellent driving by Pablo on hairpin bends and commentary by Rudi was excellent -informative and humourous.He is very welcoming and open to questions and makes the tour fun and educational.

Die Landschaft und die angefahrenen Punkte sind beeindruckend und gut ausgewählt. Die Straßen zum und vom Roque de los Muchachos sind abenteuerlich und sehr kurvenreich. Empfindlichen Menschen würden wir Reisetabletten empfehlen. Trotz der zahlreichen, oft extrem engen Kurven und auf der Straße liegender Steine ist unser Busfahrer so vorsichtig gefahren, dass man sich immer sicher gefühlt hat. Was verbessert werden könnte, ist die Aufenthaltsdauer im Besucherzentrum. Das war zu kurz.

We really enjoyed seeing a lot of La Palma. But that ment at times if was a little rushed .. For example the observatory visitors centre, no time for half what was there. But we had to get to the farmers market for the last hour, and most of their cakes had already been sold..

Die Tour in die Berge war für mich ein Highlight. Unser Guide Koen und der Busfahrer David haben exzellente Arbeit geleistet. Koen erzählte uns auf Deutsch und Englisch viel Interessantes über die Insel. Der Roque de los Muchachos ist atemberaubend schön und der Bauernmarkt mit lokalen Produkten war auch einen Besuch wert. Verbesserungsvorschlag: Im Besucherzentrum des Observatoriums wurden wir in 25 Min. "durchgejagt" - hier hätte ich mir mehr Zeit gewünscht (ca. 1 Stunde).

Excellent
This was an excellent tour and we got to see so much of the island. It’s really worth it if you want to see Mountain View’s. One thing I would say is I wonder if it tries to do too much? There were a few places we didn’t seem to visit and it felt we were behind schedule so they adjusted things to suit. We didn’t miss much but I don’t think we stopped in the place white buildings. One thing to note is the pictures are out of date. The images with the gorge and Wooden fences are now modern glass

Die Tour war sehr gut zusammengestellt, der Fahrer war exzellent. Sicher manövrierte er den Bus durch engen Serpentinen. Rudi, unser Guide erklärte sehr gut, sprach ein klares Englisch, so dass wir alles gut verstanden. Tolle Landschaft.

Es gibt nicht wirklich etwas zu verbessern. Der Busfahrer war sehr gut und der Guide hat viele interessante Informationen gegeben. Wir waren am Abend müde und zufrieden.
