Si hay una sola palabra que define a Sri Lanka, es "salvaje". Se trata de un destino famoso por su fauna, sobre todo por los elefantes. El Parque Nacional de Udawalawe, hogar de unos 500 elefantes, está considerado el mejor parque del país para avistarlos. En esta excursión, visitará el Elephant Transit Home del parque para ver cómo se alimenta a los elefantes jóvenes huérfanos y después recorrerá el parque en un safari en 4x4. Llegaremos a la hora de comer para poder ver a los pequeños alimentarse con biberón desde un mirador situado a escasos metros. Una vez rehabilitados, los elefantes son devueltos a su hábitat natural, a menudo directamente a Udawalawe, donde pueden volver a unirse a las manadas salvajes existentes.El Parque Nacional de Udawalawe se centra en un enorme embalse y cuenta con vastas praderas abiertas, lo que facilita la observación de animales salvajes durante el safari en 4x4. Es un lugar ideal para avistar elefantes, y la falta de vegetación alta lo hace también perfecto para observar otros animales. Además de elefantes, se pueden ver búfalos de agua, ciervos, jabalíes, macacos y cocodrilos. Y, si tiene suerte, también podrá avistar al escurridizo leopardo de Sri Lanka. Por si fuera poco, el almuerzo está incluido.

Auf der Safari im Park haben wir nur sehr wenige Tiere gesehen. Die Safari lohnte sich nicht. An den Straßen von Sri Lanka haben wir beispielsweise mehr Elefanten gesehen als auf der Safari.

Excellent day with great service from our guide -“Shelly”. We were looked after from the moment we boarded the bus until the very end. Shelly was very knowledgable which added to the experience. The only downside was the number of jeeps making the safari. Having said that we still saw all the animals we expected to see which was down to our excellent jeep driver.

Vaikka lähtö retkelle oli aikainen, reissu sujui odotusten mukaisesti. Ainoa hieman turha välietappi, ja josta retken kuvauksessa ei ollut mainintaa, oli luonnontuotepaikassa pysähtyminen jossa myynnissä olevia erilaisia tuotteita esiteltiin hyvin pitkällisesti ja vähän jopa ostamaan painostaen. Itse safariosuus ja elefantit olivat hieno kokemus ja niitä oli runsaasti aikaa tarkkailla maastoauton kyydistä sekä norsujen orpokodissa ruokinnassa.

Wir haben online gebucht. Die Zeit am Voucher stimmte nicht mit dem eigentlichen Abholzeitraum überein, es macht durchaus einen Unterschied ob man um 5 Uhr oder um 3.45 Uhr abgeholt wird. Die Gruppe war sehr groß, und wir wurden in 4 Jeeps im Park durch die Gegend gefahren. Nur eine Gruppe hatte den Guide dabei und konnte so mehr über den Park erfahren, die anderen Jeeps mussten sich die Infos zusammenreimen. Alle anderen Jeeps hatten Gurte zum Anschnallen, außer unserer. Etwas fahrlässig.

Great tour seen lots of wildlife. We really enjoyed this the only negative is the driver driving our landrover round the park wasnt very informative - just a little bit of information would have been good.

I felt that the actual safari driver was brilliant but Dilip needs to explain better what is going on. Nobody knew what was going on at lunch, how it worked. We had to ask rather than being told.

It was a good day out. The guide on the safari section was excellent. The elephant transit was about rushed, I didn't have time to read everything at the exhibition centre. Lunch was excellent although I would have liked it to contain more Sri Lankan dishes.

Hätte nie erwartet, so viele Elefanten so nah zu sehen.Beeindruckend. Sehr gute Führung, sowohl in Deutsch und Englisch. Die ca. 10 Stunden vergingen wie im Flug.

Veel verschillende soorten vogels gespot , evenals herten , krokodillen… De top was uiteraard om van zo dichtbij de olifanten te kunnen zien. Ook het voederen was een unieke ervaring. Een echte aanrader !

De uitstap is tof maar de gids houd hem liever bezig met de Duitse toeristen en praat dan ook voortdurend in het Duits zo hebben we niet veel info gekregen ook al waren er meerdere mensen die Engels spraken

Loved the national park and the air conditioned van was great. It was just a lot of time spent in the car would have liked to have spent a little longer in the National park. Still recommend and worth doing though. Buffet lunch was included.

Intet godt. Vi blev ikke hentet og fik at vide turen var aflyst. Vi skulle så igen i dag, der blev vi heller ikke hentet, og nu 7 timer efter har vi stadig ikke fået en forklaring. Super mærkeligt at i senden en vurdering af turen

Wir wurden pünktlich abgeholt und in einem komfortablen Bus zum Nationalpark gebracht. Die Safari war ein tolles Erlebnis, Guide und Fahrer haben uns alles gut erklärt. Das Mittagessen war sehr schmackhaft. Die Fütterung der weisen Elefanten war unbeschreiblich schön. Alles war gut durchorganisiert und zu unserer vollsten Zufriedenheit.

The seats on the mini bus were hard and a little worn they need to be comfortable for the long journey to and from the National Park The safari truck driver had an exemptional knowledge of the animals and birds in the park We saw lots of birds elephant and even managed a fleeting glimpse of a Leopard Over it was an enjoyable experience

Die Tour durch den Safari Park ist sehr sehenswert und interessant. Wir haben auf unserer Tour sehr viele Tiere gesehen. Beispielsweise haben Elefanten, Vögel oder Krokodile unseren Weg gekreuzt. Unser Fahrer hat beim Sichten der Tiere mindestens genauso gut aufgepasst wie beim Befahren der abenteuerlichen Fahrtstrecken durch den Nationalpark. Der Guide schien sich sehr gut auszukennen und war jederzeit sehr kommunikativ und freundlich. Negativ war nur, die ewige An- und Abreise (über 3h).

Door to door service to visit the Asian Elephant in their habitat. We spent lots of time making sure we went on an ethically maintained safari and this one was so good. The guides knew exactly where to take us and that proved key to seeing some of these amazing animals in the wild, they literally walk past you, and at one point they were all around us. Lots of other animals are pointed out including birds, crocodiles and monkeys. All in all a great experience that is a must see in Sri Lanka.

Great day, you obviously have to get up very early and travel a fair distance from the hotel but it’s well worth it. The elephant safari and trip to the orphanage are the main parts of the day and they happen first thing - the rest of the day feels a little filler though. Also be aware that your safari driver will expect a tip, this took us by surprise as I needed to get cash out and had barely anything on me.

Wunderschöne private Tour mit Guide Ukul und Fahrer. Sehr viele Infos über Land und Leute. Es gab viele Tiere zu sehen (vor allem Elefanten) und besonders schön war es bei der Aufzuchtsstation für kleine Elefanten. Das frühe Aufstehen hat sich gelohnt.

Quite a long transfer (2.5hr each way) but the driver was excellent. The park was great and we saw many elephants, a jackal and several bird species - the guide was great. Well worth getting to the park early. Our driver had got us our tickets for the elephant orphanage while we were in the park so we didn’t have to queue when we came back which was an added bonus. The buffet lunch was ok. Quite a costly day and an early start, but well worth it overall.
