Enjoy a unique 2 day experience:Day 1: Your tour will begin as you depart from your hotel to Tataouine and begin by crossing Roman Road. You will then take a break at the salt lake of Chahbania. Following this, you will enjoy a 40-minute stroll in the streets of Tataouine's marke, before heading the village of Chenini, where you will enjoy a walk to discover it with a local guide. At midday, you will taste the flavors of a local meal in a Berber restaurant. Following lunch, you will cross the Erg and head to Ksar Ghilane. Upon your arrival you can enjoy a swim in its natural water spray. By the end of the day, you will go to your camp to enjoy one of the best sunsets of Southern Tunisia. Here, you will have a tent, be able to take a shower, and can also experience the preparation of "sand bread" just before dinner. Following dinner, you will enjoy free time to admire the starry sky in the silence of the desert.Day 2: Following breakfast, you will head to Matmata, the troglodyte village. Your first stop will be to the Berber village of Tamazret, where you can taste an "amandes" tea. Following the break, you will visit a Berber family at their underground house, where you will enjoy an authentic local lunch. Following lunch you will head to Sidi Idriss, a troglodyte hotel where some scenes of the Star Wars film had been shot. The final visit of the day will be to the Berber village of Toujane. At the end of the day, you will be returned safely to your hotel.

Great

De bedden in de tent waren comfortabel en de tent was netjes en kon voldoende verduisterd worden. De douches bij de vrouwen waren niet proper en op het water was er geen druk zodat lange haar wassen superlang duurde. Toiletten in orde. Personeel heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Over gans de avond sfeer en gezelligheid vooral bij het bakken van zandbrood.

Excellent

Die Tour war sehr gut organisiert. Unser Führer Khaled hat uns viel über die Orte und die Geschichte berichtet. Auch unser Fahrer hatte stets alles im Griff und hat uns sicher um alle Schlaglöcher herum manövriert. Wir haben uns sehr sicher und gut aufgehoben gefühlt und würden die Tour jederzeit weiterempfehlen.

It was fantastic, I would definitely recommend it. The guild was so very friendly and knowledgeable. The drivers were friendly and a good laugh. We all learnt lots and saw places we would never have known about. It was the best thing we have ever done. I are guild spoke good English.

Excellent

It was one of the best experiences of my life, especially being able to drive the quad bikes into the desert and watch the sunset. Our guide had to speak in both French as well as English due to the other tourists, but he explained everything well and answered all my questions. I will cherish all of the memories from this experience. My only thing is though that there was bit too much crammed into 2 days and it’s a lot to remember. But felt 100% safe at all times.

Excellent

We enjoyed everything of the excursion from start to finish. The two guides from Departure Travel Service were outstanding from start to finish. Very friendly, helpful and accommodating, especially Adel, who was our English speaking guide.
