Good food and good fun are on the menu at Popolaros Greek Taverna. Get in the holiday mood with this classic Greek evening – you'll try lots of typical local dishes, carefully prepared by Giorgios and his team. As the sun sets over the island, the candles are lit and the actors take to the stage. The sound of the bouzouki fills the air, and you find yourself tapping your feet to the rhythm. Dmitri, one of our expert local guides, says, ‘Why not try dancing the zeibekiko traditional Greek dance? You follow the rhythm as the tempo gets faster and faster.'The evening begins with a transfer to the inviting taverna, where you can indulge in the traditional cuisine of Zante, prepared where possible with produce fresh from the family's own farm. Homemade bread is made from their own wheat, and most of the meat is reared on the farm, too. Organic vegetables are grown by the family for salads and sides, and you'll even get unlimited wine to sip on.Dmitri says, ‘My memories of family gatherings, holidays and special occasions all involve my mother, aunts and grannies baking. Frigania in summer, raisin and walnut-stuffed buns at Christmas and, all year-round, wood-fired oven-baked bread.' Popolaros is a traditional taverna where every dish is a celebration of the rich culture and traditions of Greece. As you finish your meal, sit back and enjoy a performance of local theatre with infectious Zakynthian music.

Although the dancing and music were very entertaining, we were crammed in the room, eating was awkward.A couple on our table were pushed out by an extra guest , who wanted to be seated with freinds, The couple spoke to the guide who did nothing , so they left upset. Overall would not recommend, due to being uncomfortable with no room to move or eat properly. Maybe they dont adhere to heath and safety much, but in a issue of a fire, ,I'm very sure injuries would occur

Not what I was expecting at all I was expecting a night in a typical Greek taverna instead put in a small hall made to look similar to a taverna ( failed ) water and wine unlimited water was warm no ice the wine well should have taken a bottle or two home as paint stripper as no beer behind the bar just over priced spirits I am no kill joy this was my own experience others did seem to enjoy if I was to look at the that type of experience again I would just go to a local taverna

You need to remove the Line unlimited wine from your blurb for the trip. As it is not. Wine comes out for a while then the manager holds a bottle and says 10 Euro's. Not surprisingly people stop asking for wine. He doesn't bring out any more free. However the food is excellent. The first plate that came out people thought that was the main meal. So they struggled to eat the chicken and rice when it came out. The wine itself would be good for taking the top layer of gloss of paint.

Miss led with the booking.ie thought it was a small taverna type place with with covers of about 20/30.Not around 80 people. Sat like sardines.No choice of food .Got what you was given. That was the worst trip we have experienced with tui.

The evening entertainment was good and food ok too many people per table I was sat with the table legs in the way so could not sit to the table comfortably. I was also positioned behind a pillar so this restricted my view. The guide said hello and was there is had any questions other than that did not see her unsure of her purpose for being there the evening self explanatory. Special mention to the bus driver who drove bus 046. Wonderful driver……

The atmosphere and scenery were excellent. There was a lot of different food to try would have been nice to know what the dishes were called though. Wine was nice - water & wine weren't replenished unless you asked. The waiting staff were very hard working, maybe a little understaffed but that was ok. The musicians & dancers were very talented it was a lot of fun getting everyone involved. Couldn't always hear the English narrative as background music too loud. Angela was great.

Pick up - don't wait for me when I was only 5 min delayed. The show is poor, the food it's not good. Notice: On the restaurant I contact the TUI's guide and her only concern is that I need a transport on return, not even an apologize about I didn't get the pick up. Overall was a bad expirience, and a bad service provided by TUI representative.

Guide/rep was just sat at the back eating. A saucepan full of water smashed down and drenched my husband. There was no dessert - unless you count shared watermelon. Dancing went on for so long that the enthusiasm dropped unless you’d been constantly drinking the wine. Starter was nice, main course meat was dry, lack of dessert means 2 courses for £35 each…not good enough. So many flashing lights there should have been an epilepsy warning.

Spokojenost s úrovní ubytování,obsluhy,kult.programu organizovaného hotelem Atlantika.Nespokojenost s prubehem reckého vecera,organizovaného TUI.Vecer byl pojatý komercne.Prelidneno v malém prostoru,jídlo nesmyslne podáváno v okultivne velkých porcích hned po sobe. Kulturní program zamerený na diváky a nikoli na ukázku reckého folklóru.Nedustojné a nudné!!

The whole evening was well organized and the staff at the Taverna were very friendly and efficient. The music was very good and the two dancers put on a really excellent display of dances as well as a comic sketch about two lovers running away to get married. Lastly, most of the participants were coaxed to the dance floor where a variety of dances were performed together with a lot of laughing and clapping.

Erg leuke avond gehad! Heerlijk eten gehad en erg leuke muziek en show gezien. Zouden het zeker aanraden. De enige minpunt, je kon geen zoete wijn krijgen dan moest je 25 euro bij betalen. Je kan kiezen uit droge en rode wijn.

Mi è piaciuto accoglienza della Signora Laura trovata in Ristorante e il prendersi cura di me e il far si che tornarsi a casa con il pulman numero 2 la bella lochescion tutto ottimo. , comunico che sono arrivata con mezzi di taxi a mio carico in quanto anche questa volta la signora Luxi referente a hotel carretta ha dato poche spiegazioni ne indirizzo del locale e che mi veniva a prendere anzi pensavo che il ristorante fosse oliver tree e quindi ho scoperto che non era quello il locale.

Niets voor mij. Dacht dat het authentiek Grieks zou zijn met dito eten. Zeer gemaakt, schelle muziek, puur toeristisch, in grote zaal, heel massaal. De musici en drie dansers waren wel heel vrolijk. Voorgerecht wel Grieks, maar matig van kwaliteit en hoofdgerecht groot stuk kippenbout en gewone rijst en vettige aardappel, met niet Griekse salade.

Bus pick up and drop off were spot on. The evening itself was loud music and aing with a story line included. Great entertainment The starters were great. Our main not so good. The wine........oh dear, tasted like tequila that's why it's free its not good. Had to buy beers but that was OK by me apart from the bar being closed most the time and I couldn't get a waiter to get it

Well we enjoyed the singing and dancing that was brilliant. Sadly now onto the food most disappointing as was expecting a Greek food experience but also left feeling hungry and chicken was very pink also the wine was very unpleasant and so we was forced to pay inflated prices at the bar which was poorly stocked. So left feeling so empty and really gutted ??

It was the most perfect night, great food, amazing entertainment with music and dance that told a story, and a chance to get involved dancing yourself. The most perfect night ??. Our only issue was the couch didn’t turn up to pick us up but our TUI guide was so lovely and sorted us some mini buses asap so we didn’t have to wait too long

Highly recommended - such a great experience, at a great price. Transfer, food, unlimited wine (and it really was!), entertainment, dancing - what more could we ask for!? The food was plentiful, and some of the tastiest chicken we have had in a very long time. The dancers were great and interacted well with the guests - thank you to them, the musicians and all the staff.

Ontzettend warm binnen. Wanneer je dan in een hoek zit is dit niet te doen. Wijn in overvloed maar voor mensen die niet drinken was alleen water gratis had dan ook een ander non alcoholische drank gratis aangeboden. Onze borden met etensresten werden pas weggehaald toen de nieuwe borden met eten al klaar stonden. Eten was matig. Erg droog. Muziek en entertainment was leuk.

Went on far too long and very monotonous. Food wasn’t very tasty, basically chicken and rice and melon - not really what I would call Greek food. Wine was really cheap and there was no provision for people who like myself don’t drink alcohol. If you wanted a soft drink this was an extra cost which wasn’t stated. I don’t drink water either, but if you wanted more than one glass, again it was chargeable. Not really value for money, could have been so much better. Reminiscent of a care home

Staff didn't seem to want to be there. The music was amazing as were the dancers. When I booked it was sold as a greek night with real greek food. The starters was fine I explained to the rep I don't eat meat on the bone. When the min arrived it was rice potatoes and chicken on the bone I lso don't drink one and was told there would be n alternative there wasn't I had to pay for everything else really disappointing so have cancelled my other excursions with you and gone to a different operator

The overall evening was good. We were picked up 20 minutes late due to a large wedding party not being ready on time. When we arrived the TUI rep wanted the wedding party in 1st as we were last ones to arrive. Once she took the wedding party in didn't come back for rest of guests. We then had to move tables 3 times. The TUI rep kept asking the wedding party was all ok but no one else. Also end of night yet again asked wedding party in coach did they enjoy but ko one else. This was nit very nice

Ein sehr unterhaltsamer Abend mit griechischem Folklore-Tanz, bei dem man sehr liebevoll zum mitmachen aufgefordert wurde. Es wurde ein typisch und extrem gutes Abendessen serviert. Unsere TUI Leiterin für diesen Abend, Dagmar, war sehr herzlich und hat den Abend wunderbar unterstützt. Ich war begeistert und werde dieses Event bei einem weiteren Besuch gerne wiederholen und kann diesen Abend nur empfehlen. Die guten drei Stunden vergingen wie im Flug und bleiben mir noch lange im Gedächtnis!

Well organised both from TUI coach pick up and the staff at the taverna bringing out food for over 150 people. The food was good quality and hot. The desert was fruit which was a bit basic and not enough for our table. Our only negative was that it was a late finish and the last 20 mins was a bit repetitive.

Singers and dancers were excellent with audience participation encouraged.. The starter and main course were excellent. However the dessert was less desirable and was just chopped fruit on a plate. Would have liked a Greek dessert such as baklava or orange cake. The bottomless wine was less than forthcoming. The staff were not attentive and we had to ask for more wine after we had run out for some time and we were not excessive drinkers. Our water wasn’t kept topped up either.

Brilliant night went too great lengths too make sure value for money was achieved the only thing I would like too see is a menu so you can see what the different food is as everyone on tables was eating starters and guessing but never found out what anything was food was just put infront of you

Meal very good. Wine very good. Staff service excellent. Musicians and dancers went above and beyond. Transfers excellent and on time. Fabulous!

Excellent
Our guide was great fun and very good. The entertainment was great the food was OK. The seating arrangement was not good for us at the start we were squashed in but was quickly sorted by our guide. And so we had a great night .

This is the best night ever. Feels like you have stepped into the set of mamma mia. The food was great. The service from start to finish was great. The singing and dancing was spectacular

Wonderful evening, food was served promptly, nothing special but good value. Music and performers were amazing. Live singing and music by very good musicians. Dancers were brilliant and really engaged with the audience. Very well presented and lots of fun. Coach travel was prompt and guide was excellent ensuring everyone was well looked after.

De greek food and live music was heel erg leuk om te doen. Het eten was erg lekker voor volwassenen alleen voor onze zoon was het jammer dat er voor kinderen geen apart menu was helaas. De muziek en het dansen in interactie met ons was heel erg leuk. Het vervoer met de bus was ook erg goed geregeld door tui. Zeker je geld waard
