This trip has to be one of the best ways to discover the real Algarve. Jump into a 4x4, leave the coast behind and make your way up into the Monchique hills. You'll discover the real heart of the region, one that most visitors never get to see. Ines, one of our expert local guides, says, ‘These hills feel almost untouched by time, with little farming villages where life moves at a slower pace, offering a glimpse of traditional Portuguese life.'Travelling in small groups winding along earth tracks and past tiny villages, you'll get a sneak peek of a peaceful lifestyle that's quickly disappearing. One of the highlights is the whitewashed village of Alferce, home to a pretty church dating back to the 16th century. Any cultivatable patches of land in the area are filled with citrus orchards and eucalyptus groves. Next, you'll continue on your journey to explore the natural wilderness of Barrancos dos Pisoes.There'll be plenty of stops along the way to capture those perfect holiday pictures and then we'll travel up to the highest point in the Algarve. At this special viewpoint, you'll watch the sky change colour as the sun sets and toast the view with a glass of sparkling wine. Hop back into the 4x4 and as darkness blankets the landscape, you'll head to a local restaurant for a traditional dinner including specialities from the Monchique hills.

The 4+4 experience was great , the drive into the mountains was spectacular the restaurant we eat at was excellent , the visit to the distillery and the sunset was brilliant too , the driver and tour guide ricardo was excellent and gave us a lot of local knowledge about Portugal which was very interesting and was also very funny , I would highly recommend this tour .

Unsere TUI-Ansprechpartnerin Paula hatte diese Tour vorgestellt und das hat uns sofort begeistert ! Von Anfang an war es eine tolle Erlebnistour, wir wurden pünktlich am Hotel abgeholt. Viktor hat uns sehr freundlich begrüßt und es ging los.. Viktor hat uns sehr viel Natur gezeigt, alles ausführlich erklärt. Die Stopps waren alle gut gewählt.. Das Essen war landtypisch gut die Bedienung sehe nett. Das Highlight war dann wirklich auf dem Berg ein ganz toller Sonnenuntergang, einmalig !!!

Die Guides Victor und Jorges waren spitze. Witzig, sehr sympathisch und mit viel Wissen. Das Essen war einfach, aber hervorragend. Der Sonnenuntergang der Hammer (man konnte gar nicht aufhören zu fotografieren 🤭). Allerdings empfanden wir den Preis von 92€ pro Person etwas zu hoch.

Zeer grappige chauffeur. Veel veel uitleg over de omgeving, de Portugese gewoonten en agricultuur. Mooie omgeving en mogelijkheid om plaatselijke gemaakte producten te kopen. Zeer lekkere diner als afsluiting.

Es war ein sehr gut organisierter Ausflug. Man hat das Hinterland der Algarve zu sehen bekommen und es wurde alles gut erklärt. Auch das Abendessen war echt super. Der Ausflug ist zu empfehlen.

Leuk was dat je op plekken bent geweest die je zelf met een auto of met een busexcursie niet zo snel zal bezoeken. Minpunten waren de wel heel beperkte ruimte in de jeep (bij Zaid) voor de benen en de (veel) te korte veiligheidsgordels. Van de 8 passagiers waren er 6 met een "maatje meer" wat maakte dat de veiligheidsgordels in de meeste gevallen niet of nauwelijks vastgemaakt konden worden. Het leek ons dat de andere jeeps meer ruimte hadden, groter waren.

Es ist ein soo toller Ausflug gewesen. Einfach nur schön! Man sieht eine ganze Menge. Darf Honig, Pollen und Schnaps probieren. Vito der Guide hat das einfach genial gemacht. Der Sonnenuntergang war der Hammer. Dort haben wir alle noch Sekt bekommen und es wurden so unvergesslich schöne Bilder gemacht. Auch das Essen war mega lecker. Diesen Ausflug sollte man auf jeden Fall buchen. Das war der beste Ausflug in der ganzen Woche. Wir hatten unheimlich viel Spaß. Weiter so lieber Vito!! Spitze!

Interessante Tour mit vielen Informationen zu dem Bergland, Geschichte, Menschen und der Lebensweise der Bevölkerung. Leider konnte kein Sonnenuntergang gesehen werden, da die Wolken zu tief hingen und es in Strömen regnete. Hatten aber trotzdem unseren Spaß mit dem Fahrer und beim anschließenden leckeren Abendessen.

Our guide, Zaid, was fantastic. Zaid's knowledge of the area is excellent and meant that we got a great view of the sunset, even when the weather was not on our side. The tour took in parts of the Alarve that we didn't get to see otherwise and a little time to explore a quiet village gave us a snapshot of life in the hills. The food and drink included was excellent at a charming little traditional restaurant. Unbeatable value for money!

Nous avons beaucoup aimé les paysages, la cave, le coucher du soleil et le restaurant mais nous déplorons la distance parcourue en 4×4 dans des positions parfois délicates. En somme, beaucoup de kilomètres pour le prix.

Le guide a vraiment été très bien avec nous, Il a pris le temps de nous expliquer la vie au Portugal, il avait une pointe d’humour ce qui nous a beaucoup plu et bien sûr il était très professionnel. Une fois sur le cite du coucher du soleil il nous a proposé de faire des photos de moi et mon épouse ,celles-cis sont superbes. Le restaurant était très bon et le personnel très sympathique. Au retour le guide a répondu à nos différentes questions, il a été d’une grande gentillesse. Je note 50/10.

Our trip was amazing but mainly due to the people we were with and Victor the driver. The meal was lovely but again made better by the company. The second jeep had four French and two English and the whole time they spoke in French. Had we been in that jeep the rating would have been very negative. It should also be explained that you watch the sunset from the side of a road/dirt track.

Victor our driver and guide was very knowledgeable and fun to be with. It was lovely to see the sunset and Victor took some beautiful photos for us. If you suffer from any kind of motion sickness I would give it a miss as it is a very bumpy ride…having said that I loved it!

Schöne Fahrt durch die Berge, der Jeep war bei uns nur halbbesetzt, man hatte gut Platz. Leider etwas längerer Stopp zu Beginn in einer einheimische Bar um auf die zweite Gruppe zu warten und auch ein paar Späße unterhalb der Gürtellinie, sonst empfehlenswert. Stopps mit guter Aussicht um Fotos zu machen, Sonnenuntergang war sehr schön.b

Vitor war mega pünktlich, sprach perfekt Deutsch. Der Rest der Gruppe war auch sehr nett. Die Tour wurde von Vitor mit viel Wissen über Land und Leute und der einheimischen Flora und Fauna begleitet. Der einzige Punkt den wie zu bemängeln hatten war,dass wie eigentlich einen deutschsprachigen Guide gebucht hatten und unser Reiseleiter dann nur Englisch sprach. Aber dass wir dann leider nur drei Viertel von allem verstanden haben tat dem Erlebnis keinen Abbruch. Unser Guide George war einfach ein super Erlebnis!!! Er war kompetent,hat uns viele interessante Fakten geliefert und war dabei extrem witzig. Leider reicht der Platz nicht aus für alles was noch lobend zu erwähnen wäre.

Trip was goed verzorgd en zat goed in elkaar. De gids wist veel te vertellen en maakte er iets heel leuks van. De zonsondergang was fenomenaal. Enige mindere puntje was het eten. Het was lekker, ietwat simpel en je mag niet echt iets kiezen. Daardoor minder geschikt als je allergieën hebt. Ondanks dit laatste puntje een super trip en dus een echte aanrader.

Our guide, Ricardo, was friendly, funny and informative. It was great to see the ‘real’ Portugal, away from the hotels and tourist spots. Plenty of stop offs, for drinks, photo opportunities etc. The food the restaurant was good and there was plenty of it. The sunset was stunning from up in the hills, an unforgettable experience.

It’s was our wedding anniversary so we thought we would do this trip ,from start to finish our guide was excellent told us from the start what we was doing to the end he was very friendly,great sense of humour and great company. Spectacular views, we did see the sunset as it was cloudy in places ,drink tasting was good seeing the honey making not forgetting the cork . Our dinner and the restaurant was very good and the wine a good 7 hours evening out.

We didn't and most people didn't like the sparkling wine to toast the sunset. george the driver/guide was an excellent character kept everyone entertained all through the tour. The meal at the end was filling and enjoyable. The views during the tour were astonishing

Einzigartig von der Abholung am Hotel bis zum Zurückbringen. Die unglaubliche Weite fernab vom Tourismus... Vito, der deutschsprachige Gide, der uns so viel über das Land und die Leute erzählen konnte, der wunderschöne Sonnenuntergang... es war sehr informativ, abenteuerlich, romantisch und unterhaltsam - einfach unbeschreiblich. Das mega leckere Abendessen hat diesen wunderschönen Ausflug gekonnt abgeschlossen, bevor wir wieder sicher zum Hotel zurück gebracht wurden. Wir kommen wieder!!!

Wij hebben een hele gezellige en leerzame tocht gehad met Ricardo. Ricardo weet veel van de omgeving, het land zelf en heeft een hoop leuke anekdotes gedeeld. De zonsondergang was adembenemend en het eten erna was heerlijk!

Jeeps waren erg oud. Onder het rijden viel er een stuk uit de achterkant. Chauffeur was prima. Gaf goede uitleg en was grappig. Helaas geen zonsondergang gezien. Was te mistig. Kregen per 2 personen een fles prosecco mee als vergoeding daarvoor. Eten was prima

Onze reisleider, Ricardo, was echt goed, hij wist veel over cultuur en omgeving en kon dit in goed Engels op een leuke manier vertellen. Speelde goed in op de groep die hij mee had, we hebben ook heel erg gelachen met z’n allen. Hij zorgde ervoor dat we een ‘hechte’ groep (NL,B,GB) werden in de korte tijd. Diner was echt lekker.

Le coucher de soleil était magnifique. Le guide très sympathique- proposait des prises de photos avec coucher de soleil. La visite du cultivateur avec dégustation de miel, pollen et alcool très cool. Beaucoup d'explications sur la région (appréciable Le repas au restaurant de qualité moyenne. La conduite du guide laisse à désirer car très dissipé par l'animation qu'il fait dans le véhicule.

We absolutely loved the experience, our tour guide Ricardo was excellent. Made us all feel welcome and become a good group with the others in our car. He gave us a very knowledgeable experience of Portugal and learnt so much from him . The tastings of the family made fire water and Honey was great. The drive to the peak to see the sunset on the Atlantic was superb. Finally the meal was phenomenal all made from local produce. Highly recommend this to everyone

Enthousiaste begeleiding, behulpzaam, vertelden veel, konde vragen goed beantwoorden. Veel gezien, mooie route, regelmatige stops om wat moois te zien. Niet zo een massale excursie, afgesloten met een goede maaltijd. Wij hebben genoten en hebben geen negatieve ervaring of verbeterpunten.

Met Riccardo hadden we een enthousiaste gids die onderhoudend kon vertellen. Leuke lokale distilleerderij bezocht en goed verzorgd diner met lokale producten als afsluiting.

Die Platzierung im Restaurant war nicht perfekt. Wir saßen im kalten, zügigen, ungeheizten Wintergarten. Alle "normalen" Gäste hatten ein warmes Plätzchen im Gastraum. Die Speisen waren geschmacklich sehr gut, nur wäre es schöner, wenn jeder Gast seine eigenen Gerichte/Gänge bekäme. Bewirtung pro Tisch ist immer nicht ganz so zwanglos.

Es war ein toller Ausflug ins Hinterland. Wir hätten uns allein nicht auf den Weg in diese Bergregion gemacht. Das Wetter und die Ausblicke waren toll, unser Fahrer und Guide Ricardo ein wirklicher Glücksgriff. Er hat uns viele interessante Informationen zu Land und Leuten gegeben. Der Sonnenuntergang war wunderschön und das Essen auf der Rückfahrt lecker und gesellig. Danke an Ricardo ! Es hat großen Spaß gemacht. Wir können die Tour uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen.

This was very good trip. The guides made sure everyone was included and our guide, George, was a very good. He made sure that all groups were on time to enjoy the sunset. The food and drink at the restaurant was very nice. Would do this again.

The whole experience was very well organised, lots of fun, great company, felt safe, the guide Ricardo very knowledgeable and friendly. Fantastic sunset and great dinner. Highly recommend.
