All the best bits of Thassos feature on this full day tour. Your guide will recount stories and myths as you traverse the countryside and coastline to the clifftop Archangel Michael monastery, Panagia, and Aliki – for its picture-postcard beach. It's a great way to see the island and the scenery is second to none.Kick off at Archangel Michael, a 12th century working monastery perched on a cliff edge. Explore the icon-bedecked chapel and soak up the views over the Aegean – on a clear day you can see to Mount Athos, the holy mountain in mainland Greece. Next is Aliki, a beautiful promontory lined by beaches, where you'll have time for some strolling and sunning. We'll also pit stop in Faros for a chance to grab some lunch.Then it's off to Panagia where you'll visit the blue-domed church as well as see the miniature canals carrying water from the mountains. We'll round off in breezy Thassos town and walk through the ancient marketplace, the centre of trade and politics of its time.

We were picked up at 8 o'clock. We travelled around the island for the next 90 minutes collecting other passengers. Once the tour began the guide was ok but spoke very fast and we couldn't always catch what she was saying. Overall, we didn't think it was worth the money and wouldn't recommend it.

Loved the Monastery. Panagia beautiful. Just didn’t feel the beach trips were necessary as we didn’t really have time for a dip - didn’t want to keep on travelling slightly damp! However the ruins at Aliki were very interesting. Our guide was very knowledgeable. The trip to the taverna at Faros was also beautiful.

I enjoyed the tour from start to finish. The tour guide provided a lot of information about various places in both English and German which was impressive. I particularly enjoyed stopping at the Holy Monastery of the Archangel Michael and Aliki Archaeological Site. It was fantastic to learn more about Thassos and to see a working monastery. Loved Panagia and it was definitely worth stopping to explore. Guide Mariana and driver Stavros were brilliant.

It was a very interesting tour we got lots more information from the guide that I expected Angela was amazing. I think we were lucky as there was only 17 and now party but would definitely recommend this trip as a way to learn a lot about Thassos

The overall trip was good and the guide was excellent but the fact that we were staying in Limenas meant the trip ended sooner for us. I think more time could have been spent at Panagia. We were staying at Hotel Lido and were told to wait by the ACS junction. The coach was over half an hour late and when it did arrive it stopped outside Hotel Lena much further down the road thus holding traffic up on a busy road until we managed to get to it.

Not worth the money Coach was cramped/hardly any leg room & air con was useless. Inadequate volume on microphone, resulted in majority of people in the coach, not being able to hear the Rep’s commentary. So all the information she was giving, was inaudible. Too long at the Monastery. Not enough time at the beach & a complete waste of time taking beach towels etc. Not enough time in Panagia either - free time would have been better, rather than too long at the Church there.

A very good choice of venues, giving a varied taste of the island. A great lunch stop & a good idea to just book the table, so guests can spend what they wish. Only downside was the long delay in the start time - 30 minutes late, which cut down the time spent at the beach, & Thassos town. Could warn ladies that trousers don't count as a cover up at the monastery. You still have to wear their cover up skirt. Could be clearer about who the guide was - we had two but weren't shown who she was

Likes:- Enjoyed seeing the rest of the island the views from the coach showing how green it is. Dislikes:- The coach pickup was 30-40 minutes late. The coach went passed some sites too fast. The people at the church visit could not wait to get rid of us and locked up really quick when we left. The beach stop was not long enough,too long looking at very small ruins. The stop at the restaurant we found a waste of time. The stop at the capital a waste of time as we was already staying there.

Very pleased with this trip which we have made on several previous holidays. Good selection of stops and Marianne is an excellent guide. We were also very happy with the lunch venue which has been used before on the trip and offers very good food together with beautiful views over the sea. Highly recommended.

First of all the bus was late. No TUI alert was sent out and no text message either. Other coaches doimg the same toir for Polish and German tourists picked up at out hotel on time. Too much time spent at the Aliki archeology site - 1 hour 15 minutes - when 30 minutes would have sufficed. Dinner at Faro tavern was nice, but again it left too little time to explore Panagia and Limenas. We arrived in Limenas at 1535hrs and were told departure was 1615hrs, which left 40 minutes. Sitting on a coach for two hours whilst going around picking up other people was not a good start. Going around on the trip it was disappointing to go past stopped cars at beauty spots taking photos while just drove past. When we booked we were told the final part was going to be scenery the likes of Jurassic Park which did not happen. We then travel on to Thassos where we were told we would transfer to another coach which take us straight to our Hotel so save us time. The reality was a 45min wa

Good tour of a beautiful island BUT coach was cramped and uncomfortable, too many stops. Places visited were overcrowded and nothing exceptional. Restaurant for lunch stop was in a fabulous location but food was mediocre - certainly not “best on the island” as sold to us!

It needs to be made clear that return times to coach need to be adhered to - we waited 2x10 minutes, 27 minutes and 20 minutes for errant guests to return after the designated time. The guide was becoming distraught. They should be left behind to make own way home. Spoiled the trip for everyone else.

Completely mis-sold this by our rep - we were told it included beach stops throughout the day - we are currently on this and have stopped at Aliki - by the time we’d been round the ruins there was no time to spend on the beach with our children. Extremely disappointed and are considering getting a taxi back to our hotel as the children are bored already. We have also booked a mountain tour for tomorrow and our rep said we could cancel the day before - we’re now being told we can’t!

We did not arrive to the capital until after 3pm it was the time when list things were closed including the amphitheatre which we wanted to see and was one reason why we booked the trip, very disappointing. Not enough time at each location, too much time in the coach. Our tickets were not checked on coach entry, the beaches were lovely but only got to spend under 30 minutes there so couldn't enjoy a swim and dry off before getting back on the coach. The rep was not in tui colours so hard to spot in the crowds if you didn't keep up and she brought her granddaughter with her as it was school holidays. The rep also left the coach before all holiday makers had returned back to their hotels.

Not enough time to go on the beach - as advertised to take beachwear but no point. Also, no mention of ladies having to wear long skirts. I wore trousers but had to borrow a skirt to put on as well to enter the monastery.

They had trouble closing the door on the mini bus, the aircon was very weak, the microphone the guide used was not working properly so most of the information was lost. We were also looking forward to the amphitheatre in Thassos but by the time you arrive it is closed! Also we should have been told there is no view of it once the gates are closed. On the plus side the food at the lunch stop was very good. The TUI reps should be more aware of the reality of the trip.

From Golden beech I recommend public 8am bus to Thassos town to see the many sites. Ditto Panagia. Logistically this tour dont cut it. 75 minutes or more from 8am pickup of collecting folk from round the island before you start. This was compounded by overly long wait in full sun for taxis that arrived 15 min late. Monastry was too crowded. I have been on much better trips

It was good to get an idea of the geography of the island. There was no check in when we boarded the coach and this became a problem when we had to stop and let a couple off the coach when they realised it was the wrong one. The guide was obviously very knowledgeable about the island and the places we visited but there was too much talking on the coach, without breaks inbetween. It was also very difficult to hear what she was saying, both on and off the coach. We were left to our own devises.

The tour was very successful and enjoyable. The guide, Mariana, was superb and gave us a wonderful insight to the places we visited. I think the tour was well designed and took us to some beautiful and engaging places. Thassos is too good to just visit the hotel and the beach. The island deserves the time and expense of this tour.

The tour is excellent. The downside for us was the driver of the coach. There was a blind passenger and he refused to open the front doors of the coach which she found easier to climb rather than the steep side door. The reason was "to keep the air con" going. However he opened the front door for the guide. Double standards and no consideration.

The Monastery was lovely and well worth a visit. I think a little more time in Panagia would have been nice. As we were already located in Limenas, the tour stop here was pointless as we're in the town anyway. Obviously it was worth it for the people staying at Golden beach and Scala Potamia to spend some time in the capital of the island. Personally I felt the tour was cut short for us.

Nice trip overall, some aspects of the trip better than others, more time in Thassos town would have been nice, to see some of the historical sights rather than shopping time. Great way to see the island. Stops at the monastery, Aliki and Faros were stunning. The guide was excellent, so knowledgable but funny and conversational too. I would have like a little more time in Panagia and it was disappointing to be in Thassos during siesta time and everywhere was shut.

A good balanced day between the locations. Maybe a little longer at the Aliki beach stop over the last stop in the capital. Making this a swim stop could be appreciated on the hotter days. Overall a very good day out to see the island.

The monestary is very small and only takes 5 minutes to view, Alkiliki Beach is beautiful. the ruins did not give much history and are free for anyone to visit, Panagia is a lovely town and it would have been nice to lunch here but we were told we would be eating at the next town, so we waited. We then arrived at Thassos Town at 2.30. We were meant to be taken to a traditional taverna , which didn’t happen and we didn’t eat until 3.00. Very disappointing trip.

For a full day tour we were back at 430. It was too rushed overall and what we were told things would happen (lovely lunch at a traditional tavern) etc didn’t happen as everything was shut! And all we kept hearing was things were shut! I get it’s the beginning of the season but adapt or ring a head and find where was open or somewhere that could be recommend. Felt like we were cattle being heard, hurriedly from one stop to another and left at the last stop by the guide as she was off home!

There were too many stops. The coach picked us up 40 minutes late. Trip due to return at 3 but returned at 5pm. Not enough time to visit the beach, no point stopping at Limenas as shopping was done during lunch stop. Cut Limenas and add the time to the ruins/beach stop otherwise no point advising to take beach/swim towel etc. clothing advice for monetary also misleading, women have to wear a skirt not just cover their knees, trousers not acceptable for women. Guide didn’t wait for guests.

What a wonderful day we had our coach driver george was amazing, Angela our guide was incredible she was so informative, she had so much knowledge, safety and care of the passengers was top priority of both her and the driver, he even stood in the rd to stop the traffic to ensure everyone crossed safely at the taverna. I must admit I would have like longer in panigia what a wonderful little village, maybe give people the chance to end their trip there instead of the town if they wish. Thank you

Lovely restaurant for lunch. We were left waiting for pickup due to a technical issue we were told, perhaps a call to our hotel would of helped rather than leaving customers waiting for 40 minutes in the heat. Coach rep stated she had been kept waiting to, not what we wanted for our holiday. Very little to see on trip.

Der Ausflug an sich ist eine gute Gelegenheit, die Insel rundherum zu entdecken. Geeignet ist diese Ausfahrt eher für Gäste ab 60, da man die meiste Zeit im Bus sitzt. Etwas unvorteilhaft ist, dass die Gäste vom Golden Beach erst über die komplette Insel (mind. 60 Minute) mit dem Bus fahren, bis der Ausflug richtig startet, um dann noch mindestens 1x am Golden Beach vorbeizufahren. Die Gäste waren überwiegend englischsprachig. Die Reiseleiterin hat wichtige Punkte auch ins Deutsch übersetzt

Visits well chosen , guide knowledgeable and interesting , lunch break at excellent taverna , broad spectrum of locations. Driver very professional and pleasant personality. The coach used was dated in leg and hand luggage space and access would be difficult for the less able. Overall good tour and enjoyed by all.

There was a 30 min delay in picking us up which wasn’t ideal but assume this was a one-off. The monastery was interesting and picturesque. The stop at Alyki was a nice opportunity to have a coffee and learn about the local history. The restaurant we stopped at for lunch was very nice and reasonably priced. The afternoon stop at Panagia was also interesting and picturesque. The final stop at limenais was also a good place to have a wine before the trip home. Overall a nice trip; thanks??

On the day we travelled, the ancient Greek ruins were closed due to a fire risk. My wife has limited mobility and found that the walking on inclines was too much for her, so couldn't access some attractions.

The Thassos Treasures tour is very well thought out and has a good timetable of stops. The guide was incredibly informative and held a wealth of information on the history of the Island. The day we went on the tour the Island had to close a number of archeology sites and grassed areas due to the wind direction and the high risk of forest fires. Due to the closers one of our stops changed to a beach hour instead, which I'm sure the kids probably preferred. Unfortunate but Tui worked around it.

No itinerary given prior to experience . Office gave the wrong pick up hotel to the driver. Told there were less stops but more time - told it was a festival -but no signs of it in way of traffic - so why ? Got to the archeological site and it was shut ! I myself expected this as it’s a holiday / guide said fear of fire !!! Therefore that stop of well over an hour was pointless . Not enough time at last stop Pangea it was so busy could not get food Friendly expert driver felt very safe

Angela was such an amazing host! The history of the island was amazing to hear and her jokes were hilarious! Really enjoyed ourselves, a very positive and pleasant day out. Lots to see and do around the island itself and we couldn’t believe how much history there was on the island. Super fascinating to learn, highly recommend this tour! You won’t regret it!

It was an excellent way to see lots of Thassos. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable. For us, the last stop in Thassos town was not needed as we were based there but it was a good stop for those from other areas. The beach stop at Aliki beach could have been longer to allow for a swim and a refreshment - there wasn’t time for both.

The tour itself was good and the guide was knowledgeable but there was more walking than I'd anticipated and I didn't feel that it was suitable for myself (26 weeks pregnant at the time) or another lady who had a walking stick. We'd both asked the Tui rep if this tour would be suitable but I really struggled with some of the walking in the heat, especially on a slight incline, and there were times the other lady stayed behind on the coach because she couldn't manage

I enjoyed the fact that our guide told us quite a lot about the island which was really interesting, I liked the free time at the beach, I would have liked more time when, for example, visiting a beautiful village we could not stop to look at a shop, that kind of thing. After our last stop, we drove for a while, we could have stopped to take a photo along the way as there were some beautiful spots.

The coach was small and very warm. My husband had to show the driver where the AC button was?????????? Angela was excellent and very informative. For the price we paid I would have expected the Museum entrance fee to be covered. Thanks to Angela’s knowledge we learnt so much about the Island and would recommend it just be prepared to pay for Museum and lunch.
