Auf dieser Tour durch das Acheron-Tal werden antike griechische Mythen zum Leben erweckt. Sie fahren zu dem schönen Fischerdorf Ammoudia und unternehmen eine Bootsfahrt auf diesem legendären Fluss, der in der Antike als Styx bekannt war, und weiter zu dem Dorf Gliki und den berühmten Acheron-Quellen.Der Acheron war in der Antike als Styx bekannt und war einer der fünf Flüsse der Unterwelt. In sein Wasser wurde der kleine Achilles mit der Ferse getaucht und wurde so zu einem der Unsterblichen. Der von Bäumen gesäumte Fluss, dessen Farbe von Smaragdgrün bis zu tropischem Türkis reicht, mündet in die beeindruckende Ammoudia-Bucht.Hier gehen Sie an Bord eines Flussschiffes und machen eine Rundfahrt auf den Spuren mythischer Helden wie Herkules und Odysseus. Anschließend geht es ins Landesinnere zum Dorf Glyki, wo Sie in einer Taverne am Flussufer ein traditionelles griechisches Mittagessen einnehmen. Am Nachmittag führt Sie eine geführte Wanderung zu den Acheron-Quellen.

Food was nice , river cruise nice , free time Acheron would of been better to have a guide walking through river , everyone just left to own devices to do paid activities

This trip was amazing value for money. The boat trip was beautiful and we saw turtles and herons along the way. Our boatman was so interesting telling us the stories from Greek myth. At the visitor centre with more information about the local landscape and wildlife then lunch which was very delicious and plentiful. Onto the river walk and you can paddle or wade your way along - just stunning scenery but be prepared for the cold water - I was brave enough for a very quick dip!

The seats on the coach were fixed in an inclined position and could not be set to a more normal upright position. Leg room cramped for the taller passengers

We enjoyed two completely different sides to this river. Firstly the estuary which was home to varied wildlife. Then, in the afternoon, we visited the springs and famous gorge, which was as stunning as the photos. Our guide for the day, Natasa (excuse spelling) was excellent.

The rep Natasha was brilliant, always making sure we were enjoying the trip. The food was really good and plenty off it. Chicken chips, rice and tzatziki. The river cruise was great and the walk in the river very refreshing. Water shoes are essential to cope with the uneven surface in the river.

Great trip. River cruise guide was brilliant. Good lunch. Atherton Springs was great, lots if shade and only a very small area that you have to swim through. You were swimming against the flow but the return was much easier. Don't take anything with you except a hat and a waterproof holder for your phone to take photos. Wear sunscreen because it's a bit of a walk to the springs.

A great day in a beautiful location with knowledgeable guides, but would benefit from more information beforehand about the requirements for the river walking, (suitable footwear & towels, and the depth you could go to)

If you enjoy nature, you’ll like this trip. Boat ride through wetlands we saw kingfishers, herons, egrets. Lunch by river was excellent. The walk in the river is an unforgettable experience. It gets very deep in places ( up to your neck) but you can walk quite a way without having to do that deep bit. Lots of tiny Lang’s Short-tailed Blue butterflies and wild pink Cyclamen flowers on the banks.

Very enjoyable day .. coach clean .. guide very informative without too much information.. journey to river was gorgeous, lots of lovely things to look at . Lunch was excellent, and area was lovely for a short walk. Well worth the money .. would recommend it .

Knowledgeable staff. Visitor centre not very interesting as it was very small and the member of staff gave minimal information. The free booklet had all the information needed. Lunch was excellent- just too much to eat! The walk in the Acheron river was great, led by our guide Tony. Truly memorable. A great day out overall.

One of the best trips we’ve been on. The boat trip was magical, lots of history and wildlife (we even saw a beaver climbing out onto the riverbank and a turtle sunbathing). Loved the solitude when the engine was turned off. Lunch by the river was really tasty and lots of it. Then the river walk was amazing. Overall, a fantastic experience.

We really enjoyed the walk in the river and finding the springs feeding it. The boat trip was relaxing even if we didn’t see too much wildlife. Our guide spoke really good English and was very clear with his instructions and guidance. Our lunch of roast chicken, chips, Greek salad and tzatziki, by the river was excellent. There were also vegetarian and vegan options offered, which we didn’t sample. Transport was on a very comfortable bus. A great trip!

Tony the guide was just excellent, really knowledgeable and informative. Trip itself was excellent such a beautiful place to be and experience. I don’t think rep did it justice when explaining because the scenery was stunning.

Firstly The Guide Kirsty was outstanding and made the trip. She was warm, friendly and very knowledgeable & informative . Her experience and ease with us all shone through. In fact she was the best tour guide we have ever had on a Tui excursion. The trip was well paced, all enjoyable and the lunch was good too (sometimes they are not). The actual river walk was so much fun & exilarating. Could not fault anything.

It was a brilliant day, BUT there were far too many people for one guide to cope with. The coach was rammed- not a single empty seat. Excellent for you, but uncomfortable for us squeezed on the back seat with 3 other people. The boats were overloaded so it cost you less but many people didn’t have much of a view from the benches in the middle of the boat. Recommendation would be to run the trip with a minibus so that it is less impersonal.

The guides were difficult to understand and the sound system on the bus was poor. Better clearer information required before and during the trip in particular regarding the alternative to the guided river walk and clothing & equipment required for the river walk.

We had a fantastic time as it is such a magical place. Organisation was superb and our guide was really knowledgable, including sharing lots of Greek legends.. The boat trip was wonderful -we learned such a lot from our boat guide. He really was dedicated to the area and was able to show us wildlife that we otherwise would have missed (including beavers & kingfishers.) The river walk was great, however it was very cold! I would really recommend this experience. Great value for money.

The guide Dominic was very good. Coach Driver Nikos brilliant. It would have been really good if we could have gone to the site of tge Necromanca as this is a major part of tge importance of visiting the area & as it is so close to the River Styx & the on ward journey to Acheron then it should be included. The food was a huge disappointment to us. The Taverna staff made us feel very unwelcome & few fried peppers, chips & a spoonful of rice and a bit of salad do not constitute a VEGAN meal.

the meal at the river it was the best chicken I’ve had and the rice and salad was delicious ,the river was beautifull however the time you got to spend there wasn’t long I feel you should cut out the boat trip it was boring and the stop off at the village there was only two shops so you can spend more time at the river by the time you get there isn’t long you feel like you have to rush to get back to the coach you need some good thick non slip soles for the river and a waterproof phone case

Relaxed day- river trip excellent with great captain.Lunchdelicious in a taverna on banks of lovely river. Hike up the gorge great fun - a bit moreguidance on what to takeand wear on hike up gorgewould have helped but minor consideration- our guide forday excellent -we thoroughly enjoyed it!!

I thought the trip offered good value for money as it included a 40 min boat trip plus I was really surprised by the lunch which was included which I thought made the day really great value. I would have preferred slightly longer walking the river to allow to reach the gates of Haden as we had to turn back to ensure we were back to the coach in time.

This trip would be much better if there was a different guide, sadly this is the second trip with her as she was just as useless. Personally I would miss all but the gorge walk. It was amazing, would have been better if the guide was not just trying to sell the water sports. You were not informed the best way to walk... follow the river up stream and enter about half mile up near a small beach and trees. The meal is next to the water and was lovely

Could of done the information centre in 2 halves, whilst first section of people was on the river cruise, would of given more time at the gauge. Spent too much time waiting for ride back after rafting down the river, would of missed that and gone straight to the gauge if we knew. Meal was very good which was included

Boat trip and talk was rubbish. Good was great more emphasis and time should be put towards the gorge walk which was fantastic but undersold and almost discouraged by the guide
