Zitronenhaie leben in den subtropischen Küstengewässern um Sal und gehören zu den Haien, die man am relativ einfach in ihrem natürlichen Lebensraum beobachten kann. Auf diesem halbtägigen Ausflug zur Shark Bay werden Sie von einem Meeresbiologen begleitet, der Ihnen alles über diese faszinierenden Meerestiere erzählt.Nach der Abholung von Ihrem Hotel fahren Sie zur Shark Bay an der Ostküste von Sal. Hier beginnt Ihr Erlebnis mit den Zitronenhaien. Sie waten mit dem Meeresbiologen durch das Wasser und erfahren Schritt für Schritt alles über diese unglaubliche Spezies.Schauen Sie sich die gelb gefärbte Haut der Haie an, die ideal zur Tarnung in der sandigen Umgebung ist und beobachten Sie, wie sie sich drehen und wenden und nur wenige Meter entfernt nach Fischen suchen. I feel like the marine biologist guide was more interested in being on his phone than answering questions and engaging with the group - we felt rushed and that answering questions was an inconvenience. We went again to see the lemon sharks the following day with a local guide as part of a full island tour and were given more information for a fraction of the price.

Our guide Sarah was amazing, she was extremely knowledgeable and made sure to explain everything and more! We were very grateful to have chosen the only ethical tour and to respect the shark’s natural habitat. It was a shame to see the baiting from some of the other tour providers as this can be harmful to the sharks.

Elisabeth und Ihr Kollege waren sehr kompetent und haben den Ausflug sehr informativ gestaltet. Haie wurden zahlreich gesichtet leider war starker Wellengang und somit die Sicht ein wenig eingeschränkt, trotzdem sehr interessant

Patrick was a brilliant guide and very knowledgeable. Water shoes or crocks are a must! Other guides in the water baiting the sharks does kind of ruin the experience as takes the sharks away to one place but nothing can currently be done about that sadly. Made the most of it still and enjoyed!

The guide Sarah was very knowledgeable of the sharks and told us what to expect a do if you don’t want the sharks to come near you and gave you a lot of information the walk out to the sharks is very rocky so you had to be very careful but there is someone to help you over the rocks in the water

Wir hatten eine sehr nette Biologin. Der Busfahrer war gut und der Bus klimatisiert. Generell muss man aber sagen, das der Weg zu den Zitronenhaien sehr steinig und schwierig begehbar ist. Das sollte man mehr kommunizieren.

Wir würden empfehlen, das Gebiet zum Naturschutzgebiet zu erklären und dafür Eintritt zu nehmen. Andere Guides haben die Zitronenhain angefuettert, was wir echt daneben fanden. Diese Anfuettern müsste verboten sein, denn das ist für die Weiterentwicklung der Tiere nicht förderlich.

Der Ausflug war super informativ und spannend gestaltet. Man brauchte zu keiner Sekunde Angst oder Furcht vor den Zitronenhaien haben.Die Marine-Biologin hat viel erzählt und verständlich erklärt und man hat sehr viele Haie nah bei sich gesehen. Lasst euch von den schlechten Rezensionen nicht beeinflussen, man wird bei der Abholung aufgesucht und sieht viele Zitronenhaie, trotz anderer Guides, die sie fälschlicherweise anfüttern.

The tour guide explained everything you needed to know about all the species of shark around the island and explained that they were all protected, lots of details and and safe track out into the sea just east height to see the sharks swim past you.

The experience was so cool. The guides were knowledgeable and really respectful and helpful. It was a fun thing to experience. The only thing I would mention is that watershoes were not adequate for this experience. I would definitely suggest crocs as my feet were killing after ambling over all the rocks avoiding the sea urchins.

Eine richtig tolle Erfahrung. Mein Sohn war mehr als begeistert. Ich würde den Ausflug nicht mit kleinen Kindern machen, die Angst haben, quietschen oder kreischen, wenn ein kleiner Hai ankommt. Oder auch ein größerer, der mal eben 1,20 m lang sein kann. Man geht mit ins Wasser, das ungefähr bis zu den Knien geht. Im Wasser sind viele größere Steine, die auch mal rutschig sein können. Man muss also sehr vorsichtig laufen.

The trip was ok - a nice addition to the holiday. However we were one of a few groups and the hosts of the other parties brought bait which drew the sharks away quite often. We were totally on board with this not being good for the sharks but no one seemed to police the area - if it’s not good practice they should have shark Shepard’s who can ban tourist companies for this behaviour. Left an annoyed feeling to the experience that people blatantly broke rules - also support litter picks.

Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. She was very passionate about the sharks and reassured any people in the group who felt a little unsure. We had our beach shoes which saved us €3 per person to hire a pair of crocs. Definitely would recommend wearing swim wear as the sea is choppy and you'll probably get wet clothes especially your shorts. This was a memorable experience, the trip with travel lasted 2 hours

Chelsea our guide was fabulous and knowledgeable, it was a great experience. We saw loads of Lemon sharks of various ages and sizes. You really need to wear crocs or water shoes as when walking out in the sea it's over rocky areas. You can hire crocs €3 if needed. You walk out to mid thigh depth so wear swimming attire and take a towel. You can safely leave all bags, towels etc on the coach while you enjoy the experience. Highly recommended. Thank you Chelsea

Fantastische trip met Explore Cape Verde. Vooral omdat dit met mensen is die echt geven om het welzijn van de haaien (en schildpadden) en niet gaan voor het snelle toeristische succes. Respect voor de dieren hun habitat, terwijl ze toch ons de best mogelijke ervaring hebben gegeven.

The guide was very knowledgeable not just about the sharks and other wildlife but also about the whole island. She kept my children engaged and they thoroughly loved the experience. We have visited the lemon sharks on previous visits but this was by far the best we've been on Definitely would recommend. She mentioned beach clean ups happen every few months, would be good to get tourists involved with that as they can see their direct impact on the environment.

As much as I loved and found the experience fascinating it was a massive shame with the quantity of sharks that were swimming around us. This was due to other local groups attracting the sharks with bate/food which from learning in the Experiance is frowned upon and not encouraged so it ruined it for the rest of us that were doing it the right way.

Tour war sehr interessant und beeindruckend. Leider war das Wasser aufgrund der starken Brandung an diesem Tag recht trübe, weshalb die Sicht auf die Haie nicht perfekt war. Das ist aber definitiv nicht im Verantwortungsbereich des Veranstalters, das war einfach Pech. Ich würde die Tour jederzeit wieder buchen!!!

Słaba atrakcja. Chyba że dla dzieci bardzo małych. Chwała się że będzie pani biolog i coś opowie o wycieczce a w rzeczywistości żadnego słowa nie wypowiedziała wice nawet trudno stwierdzić czy zna język polski lub angielski. Po prostu zwykła studentka na stażu pierwszego roku której zadaniem było odbyć staż tak to wyglądało. Szkoda pieniędzy

A little expensive for a short trip, but a great experience nonetheless. The guide, Carla, was really friendly and knowledgeable (as a marine biologist, this aspect was expected, but she was great as a guide too, and explained everything really well). Driver did a good job. I was happy to show my financial appreciation to both of them for a job well done.

Excellent knowledge and enthusiasm from Patrick. Liked the ethical side of the tour, unlike some of the other tours we witnessed, although this did have a little impact on ours. Bags etc could be left on the bus securely which was a great benefit.

Gut war das Erlebte mit den Haifischen. Eigentlich war alles prima. Eine Flasche Wasser im Auto auf der Rückfahrt wäre gut gewesen. Wir würden den Ausflug jedem empfehlen und auch jederzeit wiederholen.

Our tour guide was Francis and he was amazing. He was very knowledgeable, and told us lots of different information not only about the sharks but about the wildlife/Sealife of Cabo Verde as a whole. The actual experience in the water was one of the best things we have ever done. It was breathtaking and something I won't ever forget.

A really amazing experience overall, the guide was really knowledgable and the staff at the beach were helpful and friendly too! Quite pricey for the experience in general but nice to know some goes towards protecting the sharks. Good to go with a company who don’t bait the sharks as it was sad to see this happening from so many. Really tricky getting into the water so not the best for anyone with mobility struggles.

Easy and convent to book, pick up time was given and we were collected on the dot. Sarah was kind, welcoming and very informative. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the island and the lemon sharks. Love the fact that this excursion is ethically conducted without baiting and this should be emphasised as part of the excursion to encourage others to pick this company over competitors. Incredible experience, worth every penny and would highly recommend to anyone visiting Cape Verde ♥️🦈 🇨🇻

Tolle kurze Tour! Marlene unser Tourguide hatte einen guten Humor und eigentlich alles wichtige erzählt. Außerdem werden die Haie bei diesem Anbieter nicht unnatürlich angelockt. Die Haie kamen trotzdem zu uns geschwommen und hatten keine scheu.

It would have been nice to have been made aware in the advertisement of the expernce that water shoes are needed. We had to higher them which then came with an additional cost.
