La Palma is crisscrossed with world-class walking trails. But the star of the show is the Caldera Taburiente hike – a journey through the island's only national park. You'll walk 16 kilometres along the snake-like trails into the crater basin, which takes you down 800 metres in negative elevation to gaze out over incredible scenery, before a visit to La Cascade de Colores – a waterfall where iron-rich waters create a rainbow effect.

Great

Beautiful scenery, informative and knowledgeable guide re geology, flora and fauna. We are seasoned walkers and coped with the 16 km distance over rough terrain, scree, steep downhill paths, slippery at times. I don't think that Tui make it clear in their description of this trip that you need to be fit and agile to undertake it successfully. I don't consider it a suitable trip for children either. Do Tui staff of varying abilities participate in these trips before marketing them?

Geweldige wandeling! Wel goed pittig, blij dat ik mijn eigen wandelstokken mee had gebracht, als kan je er ook eentje lenen van de organisatie. Goede informatie vooraf. Schoenen met goed profiel super belangrijk gezien de steile stukje afdaling met gevaar uit te glijden.

Es war ein echt toller Ausflug der einiges an sportlicher Leistung abgefordert hat. Es gab viele interessante Informationen. Man sollte den Folgetag für Regeneration nutzen. ;-) Ein Lob an die tolle Führerin, die auch in schwierigen Situationen, schwächeren Tourteilnehmern eine große Unterstützung war.

Excellent

Excellent tour. You need to give better information in advance though. It would have been helpful to know that there is somewhere to top up water half way so I didn't need to carry a whole days worth with me. Also information on the terrain would have been helpful, as some people had turned up in fashion trainers instead of proper trail shoes and they really struggled.
