‘Left', ‘right', ‘get down' – no, not an aggressive gym instructor but what you'll hear as you make your way down the River Tenorio rapids. This whitewater rafting tour is Costa Rica at its best – action and adventure in the wild.After driving to the heart of Guanacaste, you'll be given a safety briefing before donning a helmet and life vest. You'll then raft through the rainforest, so keep an eye out for wildlife such as iguanas, monkeys and tropical birds. Costa Rica is rated as one of the best spots in the world for whitewater rafting, and there's a reason why – category 3 and 4 rapids, set against a lush tropical backdrop.Your world-champion guide will steer you through the rapids and over the falls as you navigate the 13km route. After you've dried off, you'll end the tour with a spot of lunch.

So our pilot(driver) person steering the raft was a guy called Roberto(stumpy) not a derogatory term he did say that people called him that .his left leg was missing but my god did he give us an awesome experience! He was cracking jokes and just made the whole rafting experience a birthday I will never forget. Yes we did all 4 of us capsize at the last drop , but that really did add to an amazing time ! If you do go please hanky for roberto as he was definitely the best tour guide , thanks xxxxx

One of the best experiences I’ve booked on a holiday. We found this so much fun and felt safe the entire time. The guides are expert at steering the boats and controlling them down the rapids. Lunch was also great, the off roading in a truck to get there all adds to the fun. Would 100% recommend.

I booked this on behalf of my children and this is their review: This was so fun and Emmanuel was the best! Beautiful scenery, some wildlife and a nice active day. They also travelled with a lady on crutches who was taken in a different raft to give her and my daughters different experiences which I thought was nice. They asked if they mind falling out of the boat beforehand to know how rough they could be with them.

The rafting was brilliant fun, our tour guide Jorge was brilliant he was so knowledgeable about the wildlife and landscape. Unfortunately the water levels were low so there wasn't much white water which definitely detracted from the experience and left me feeling a little underwhelmed for the price paid.

Wow, absolutely by far the best excursion we have ever been on. The whitewater rafting was so much fun and we felt very safe. We were both total newbies but wanted to go back and do it all again! Our guide Jose was friendly and very helpful. Book this excursion!!

Advertised time for hotel collection in TUI confirmation email was wrong. Tour guide was complaining she was calling our room and looking for us before the advertised time on 0720. Quite embarrassing to be told off in front of other guests with no apology, despite proving we were on time per the TUI confirmation

Throughly enjoyed rafting, it’s definitely not for poor swimmers. Definitely parts are L4. Well organised by the rafting company, I do have complaint about TUI though, I booked this though TUI, I got a message saying where to meet etc…. Just as a precaution I went to see our TUI rep, on asking to confirm white water rafting is going ahead, she actually said No! we had to change the day. I did say when was you going to let me know, the was well you are here so now. Poor from TUI I thought.

The whole trip was fantastic, we got to see toucans and several species of monkey up close, the guides were great, the photos brilliant and the whole experience was fast without being too furious. Thoroughly recommend.
