Konavle valley's distinctive culture and cuisine are revealed in all their glory during this half-day tour. You'll sample locally grown wines at family-run vineyards, ride a train from village to village and tuck into some traditional food, all in the scenic surroundings of the Konavle valley. Antun, one of our local guides, says, ‘Dubrovačka Malvasija is the renowned grape variety unique to this region. Local winemakers managed to save the species, even though there were only three healthy vines remaining in the post-war period.'Located near the border with Montenegro, between mountains and the Adriatic Sea, the valley is a sun-drenched countryside escape from Dubrovnik. You'll arrive in the village of Zastolje to visit the historic Brajković winery, then it's all aboard to ride to Ljuta by train. Here, you'll see how the 500-year-old Đivanović water mill had dual purposes – since medieval times it was used to produce flour and process wool into fabric.After this visit, we'll continue to a different vineyard and wine cellar for more tasting. You'll sample some local culture when you try a typical ploughman's lunch, just as the farmers would eat during a hard day in the fields. The final stop is a third winery. Antun says, ‘You'll relish a cold glass of Konavle rosé alongside a slice of typical pandišpanj sponge cake at this vineyard. Pandišpanj is traditionally made for special occasions, like this tour, when we welcome our guests to our beautiful Konavle valley.'

Overall the trip was interesting. Happy that there wasn't too much time taken with touring lots of Hotels picking up other passengers (like the Montenegro tour). It would be more honest to make it clear that 'the train' is actually a 'Road Train' and not a real train. It didn't bother us but it surprised several of the other passengers. All the places we visited were interesting, and the people were very friendly, but the selection of wines for tasting was small.

Got told it was €80 each so I paid with cash and then got told by paying with cash it would be €4 more but then got told by the TUI rep he didn’t have change so for me and my wife I paid €165 euros and the rep said your be tasting at all the vineyards and at least 10 glasses we only had a drink at 4 vineyard and a tiny amount in a glass definitely not worth the money and the tour guide favoured the French

The only fault with this trip is calling it a wine tasting as it was so much more. It’s a half day that introduced us to local producers of wine, flour and olive oil. We had 5 stops and each provided history, something to try and was introduced by part of the family. The “train” is actually a land train like you find at Disney but was good for the job. We tasted about 6 wines, 6 wine liqueurs and had food 4 times. The whole thing was around 6 hours Highly recommended

This was advertised as a wine tasting experience. The first stop was good with samples of the wines available. The second stop although very interesting had nothing to do with wine at all it was a restored flour mill. The third stop was to see an olive press but here we did have a glass of wine with a snack. The final stop we were given a small glass of rose and a slice of cake. Then some liqueurs were sampled but no other wines. Wine was for sale but pricey and no tasters before buying.

This was really good fun, we enjoyed hearing about the history from the families making wine and olive oil. The scenery was spectacular, and the wine was delicious! I would advise anyone attending this tour to wear comfortable shoes as the paths are uneven due to the tour being outside.

Well organised tour. Mixed group of English and French. We had 2 tours with the same guide (asked us to call him Thomas for ease) he definitely favoured the French on the tour, my french is quite good. More info given in French except for the water mill where we had a commentary in English that he translated into french. Tour felt rushed at times, but the delay caused by an Austrian coach driver who collided with our coach when manoeuvring didn't help from that point of view

Very good trip. Good vfm. A couple of people really struggled getting on off the train and with stone roads and stairs. It may be an idea to highlight that good mobility is needed. Guide was very good. Hosts at each stop very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend this trip. The little train was fabulous.

The whole experience was really enjoyable. Marco our tour leader was fantastic. We loved the train ride! Beautiful scenery and every single stop at the Mills and winery was unique. Very generous with their wine especially the 5th stop, we helped our self with wine and shots! Food and cheese served was good too. The pick ups journey was around an hour but we didn't mind because the coach was comfortable and we could enjoy the scenery. Thank you ??

Fabulous fun tour on a scenic train through the vineyards in Konavle Valley! Went to 3 mills and 3 wineries and tried amazing Croatian wines! Eva was a fabulous guide, knowledgeable, engaging and a great babysitter for 25 adults drinking wine all day! Bus and train drivers were great too. Highly recommend! Five stars to the whole tour and all of our guides/drivers!

As a none wine drinker I had booked because of the scenic train ride. Yes it was scenic but it definitely WAS NOT a train. It was a tractor made to look like a train! Had I known this when booking I definitely wouldn’t have wasted my money. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ALTER THE DESCRIPTION TO SAY LAND TRAIN. I was definitely miss sold this experience from what was on the app. There were other members of the party who were also disappointed but at least they enjoyed the wine. I had one glass of water.

A very nice tour over a gorgeous place. I'd expect a more in terms of wines as it was marked as wine tasting experience, it was more like 'historical beautiful tour with some wine', nonetheless we really enjoyed.

Malheureusement tous les hôtels ne sont pas logés à la même enseigne ; au départ de l ile de Kolocep, vous aurez donc 30 minutes de ferry, pour ensuite passer 2heures dans le car afin d aller chercher les autres participants (qui paient le meme prix mais qui sont pris juste devant leur hotel) ayant demarre à 12h de l'hôtel nous n'avons donc pas eu le temps de dîner. Les familles qui reçoivent sont très sympathiques, mais 5h de trajet aller retour pour 3h d expériences ca ne vaut pas le coup.

Whole experience of visiting the different locations on the train was fantastic. Great to meet local farmers and hear about their crafts, sample and purchase their products whilst also seeing the beautiful countryside and learning of its history. Guide was also very good, informative and interesting. Perfect end to our holiday.

Disappointing as didn't feel we had value for the money we paid. Beautiful Vinyards, great hosts but the small amounts of wine we received were not what we expected! We travelled for a hour and then met the main bus on the road and then travelled another hour! If the hotel Representative had explained how long this would take we would not have gone.

Der Ausflug ist sehr abwechslungsreich, bietet eine große Übersicht nicht nur über Wein sondern auch über das Leben, Kriegsfolgen und Wiederaufbau in der Region. Vorträge der Eigentümer der Weingüter und Mühlen waren sehr interessant. Leider waren die Erklärungen nicht auf deutsch und nur englisch und französisch.

Enjoyed: Scenery, information given from farmers about methods used, food and drinks provided at each vineyard Did not enjoy: Having to collect tickets ourselves( previously they were to be found in our rooms), not being met by the guide off the ferry so having to find our coach in a very busy port area). Our party comprised of 50% UK and 50% French holiday customers which meant at all 5vineyards the detailed information given by the owners needed to be translated by the guide, a lengthy job.

Coach transfer was slow with too many hotel pick ups on the way, made worse by returning to 1 hotel to pick up a person who had said they were I’ll and not coming only to change his mind and calling the bus back. 1 hour and forty minutes in total. Return trip was better as drop off order was changed to get us back in time to catch ferry to Kalamoto Island.

Having previously been on this/similar tour pre 2019 and found it very good value, we were slightly disappointed to find most wineries were only offering two wines to sample and one of the five five none as it also made flour, which was the purpose of the visit. Previously it was five wineries with three wines to sample at each, one which was not visited this time even supplied a peasant's lunch. In all I find the cutbacks will eventually be to the detriment of the participating wineries.

The experience was fantastic, very informative and packed full of history. The tour is great, the locations are beautiful and the hosts are very knowledgeable. Definitely recommend this tour. Only issue we had, was our tour date was changed and the tour did not pick us up on the new date/time. We had to contact the Tui rep to contact the tour so they could send someone to collect us. They did send someone and we managed to get on the main bus.

Het was ongelooflijk fantastische excursie van het begin tot het eind. De gids Ante Anthony was meer dan geweldig. Hij is zo toegewijd en zorgzaam en vertelt op humoristische en serieuze wijze alles wat we graag willen weten. Hij doet dat vanuit zijn hart. Hij vindt het gids zijn echt leuk en zijn enthousiasme is aanstekelijk. Werkelijk heel bijzonder om zo iemand als gids te hebben. Wellicht goed om even aan te geven: neem voor de terugtocht warme kleding mee. Ante bood mij zijn jas aan!

Good trip. Variety of places to visit. Comfortable coach ride to start of tour. Most places we visited, staff were friendly and welcoming and seemed pleased to see us. (Mijas vineyard.. owners there not as enthusiastic as the other places we visited and we just all stood outside while they talked, which was not so comfortable as the other places we visited) Tour guide good.

The afternoon wine tasting was interesting overall, however, the train ride was a road seaside style train ( not at all what we expected). The journey to & from our hotel was quite long to get to a few wine tastings. There was no looking in a cellar or much information about the process of producing wine, whereas the stop for the olive oil production was very informative.

We really enjoyed this tour, even though we are teetotal!. The train ride was fun and we enjoyed meeting local people and sampling very small samples of olive oil, cheese, olives and cake. There was a glass of apple juice offered at one venue and water offered at the other three. It would have been nice for non-drinkers to have been offered apple juice or a soft drink at all four as we paid more for this half a day trip than a full day trip. Nice, friendly and enjoyable afternoon out though.

The guide was great and the hoists at each winery and the watermill was lovely and informative.
