The island and surrounding sea are of such importance for their biodiversity that they're protected as a national park.You'll set sail from Bayahibe into the sun-splashed seas surrounding Cotubanama National Park. Castro, ein erfahrener super Guide. Beide Boote, Katamaran und Speedbote waren gut. Einfach zu viele Leute im ersten Bus, im Hauptbus wars ok, aber auf den Booten war es bis zum letzten Platz gefüllt. Ein Premium Angebot mit max. 10 Personen wäre interessanter, da entspanter.

We were so looking forward to this excursion as it was the only 1 we booked during our holiday. We were picked up from the hotel but then we were dropped off and dumped near the port where we waited for an hour, we had no idea who our rep was, were left with no instructions whatsoever, no water, we had our 13 yo with us too and felt extremely vulnerable. When the rep eventually arrived I then had the mickey taken out of my name and was called Nicholas Cage which didn’t find amusing

The island was beautiful and the natural pool was gorgeous however we were dropped over an hour earlier with no proper directions or water. We were told to wait 20 maybe 40 mins. It lacked organisation at the beginning and I think thete was too many for the boat. Overall it was a lovely day and would recommend.

We feel we were misold this experience. We were told it was a 10 minute trip to get the boat (it is a 10 minute walk) but we were in a mini bus for over an hour. The scenery was beautiful but no snorkels to see the starfish. The beach, when we got there was not a private beach - it was rammed with tourists and the lunch was utterly appalling - we queued up like school dinners and all of the food was cold - the seating area for lunch was dirty. The loungers were covered in dead flies!

The Trip from start to finish was absolutely fantastic for anyone visiting the Dominican I would say this is a must do trip. Jonny and his crew looked after us all day. Ensuring all our needs were met. Would definitely recommend

Picked up from hotel at 8.15, got to Island and 12.30. Had to wait for guide to turn up and then she fell asleep during the crossing. No control over food, stored in open ice box which allowed people to help themselves or sat in the window with the sun on it. The toilet was not very hygienic. It's saying something when the guide put her shoes back on to go and use it. We only had less that 2.30 hours on the beach. Would not recommend.

It took around an hour from BAHIA P . LA ROMANA hotel when we arrived we had to wait 20 minutes for our rep to arrive before setting off on a small boat which then took us to the catamaran switching between boats was pretty difficult for those trying to hold small children however one gentleman in particular was exceptionally helpful which truly made all the difference and also kept everyone entertained throughout down side was safety smaller boats in poor condition screws nearly falling out

Tour guide was great a very funny guy who kept us engaged and entertained throughout the day, we were picked up and he put the other reps to shame, we had 5 buses with people roaming around and reps on the phones, your guy turned up shouted the destination and who he was after 3 families jumped on and we were off

Great day with Roberto our guide. Beautiful island, although spoilt by the flies. I didn’t do the snorkelling so cannot comment on that experience. Getting into the water to see the starfish was amazing, such clear crystal sea. Snacks were provided on the boat to the island. Lunch was surprisingly good. Only downside was the guy who served me a piece of chicken asking for a tip. A long day all in all but enjoyable.

Es war ein super schöner Tag, mit gutem Reiseführer Roberto . Toller Service auf dem Speedboot , echt perfekt . Auf Samoa herrliche Auszeit . Leider das Problem mit der Abholung , Palladium Grand Hotel , bei den Ersten 6.55 h und ergo bei den letzten beim Abliefern . Andere werden mit einem Shuttle zum TUI Center gebracht , Wieso nicht die am Weites Entferntesten? Das war der einzige und selbe Kritikpunkt, wie beim Ausflug Santo Domingo. Preis / Leistung natürlich schon heftig .

The trip itself is promoted as being pure relaxation however the catamaran sail is far from this. We were a family and 2 boys were tired yet no consideration was given to this fact with overly loud music being played catering towards other guests. The surf and turf dinner promotion is also misleading as you are given some fatty lamb, bbq chicken and some prawns. Expectations would have most people assume at least a cut of steak with prawn as a minimum. Overall not the best value for money tour.

What a brilliant all in all, it's was a bit disappointing that the island itself was over run with flys and couldn't eat your meal or even have a relax on the beach, there was millions of them to the point we had to leave the island after 15 minutes . Danny our tour guide was amazing highly recommend him as a guide for the future. I would of liked to have had a look around the shops in the harbour on the way back though and not gone straight to the bus. But fantastic day Danny made it special

Wir haben ein teures suprim Tour gebucht. Nach der Abholung vom hotel 25 Minuten später als vereinbart mussten wir noch im Hafen über 1 Stunde auf die andere Gruppe warten. Auf dem Boot gab es nur billigen Rum, Cola, Wasser und Bier, kein Wein oder Sekt.Auf der Insel gab es sehr viele kleine Mücken. Die haben am ganzen körper geklebt. Wasser war schmutzig. Das Essen sehr schlecht. Versprochene Lobster bzw. VIP-Mahlzeit haben wir nicht bekommen. Preis-Leustung stimmen gar nicht. Nicht empfehlen

Enjoyed the stop at the natural sandbank where the water was shallow and sea was clear. It was beautiful. TUI private area was not that great, the beach and sea were better in the public area than at the TUI beach. The TUI beach water was not clear / blue there were many sharp rocks (which had not been advised in advance) and the food provided was not great one small piece of chicken offered per person. (The tour guide had about 7 on his plate!). I feel standard trip would have been better.

Overall great until getting to the island and we and the rest of the group were not prepared for the infestation with flies. On the beach. We appreciate these will be flies in this climate but have never experienced anything so bad we were literally covered in them from the moment we stepped off the boat until we left. Sitting on the beach was not possible or eating or drinking. This was a very disappointing experience and was also mentioned to the rep today at the hotel

Everything was amazing and we would have given a higher score for the whole experience ,however everything was going really well until we got on the island, we arrived with the beach and sun loungers infested with flies and there was no way we could have laid down in the sun so apart from the lunch we had to spend the 3 hours on the island in the sea.it was a real shame as everything else was amazing.there was 4 or 5 sections on the beach with no one being able to sunbathe

Late pick up and left standing on the beach for 30 minutes before boarding boat. Only allowed 20 minutes for snorkeling and not informed we were close so had to get ready in the 20 minutes. Saona beach was filled with midges on the beach so unable to be comfortable and relaxed on the beach. Guide barely spoke to us other than to say when arrived and leaving something.

We were kept waiting in sun for boat for at least an hr. Guide was next to useless. Limited communication. Pushed 'pay for' drinks on island and omitted to mention free bar/drinks area. Island and beach area was covered in flies. Not sure if this is usual? Moving from boat to boat at sea not particularly safe. All in lits of money for no pleasure.

The guide on this trip was the worst I have ever come across. He spent most of the day on his phone and or asleep on the boat he was not at all informative and miserable the whole time. I have done this trip before with other providers and it was lovely. This time I should of kept my money. Stood around for an hour in the morning waiting as well as nothing nice about the trip. Although the lads working on the catamaran they are the only reason for any score as they were good.

Unfortunately the start was a bit dragged out. the bus was late, there was confusion with passengers causing a further delay at the TUI office and then again at the port. (It felt like a lot of waiting around). The catamaran was slightly oversold and was more of a commuter catamaran, however the captain and staff on board were great. the snorkeling was average, the harbour wasn't the best location. Apart from that... the island & pool was incredible... pure paradise (Please prepare more fish)

Es hieß 1h Bus zuerst, es waren 2h dann 45 min Katamaran, es waren 2h. Die Aussage zurück 15 Min mit speedboat …Es waren 45Min in denen uns auch noch der Sprit ausgegangen ist.. und wieder 2h Bus.. Ankunft war angepeilt mit 18:00 es war 19:45 als wir wieder im Hotel eingetroffen sind. Ich finde man muss von Anfang an den Ablauf richtig kommunizieren, andererseits hat man daran sehr schlechte Erinnerungen und wird es niemals weiter empfehlen! Zudem wenn man mit Übelkeit geplagt ist auf dem Boot!

Preis Leistung entspricht nicht dem Angebot! Uns wurde VIP angeboten! Nicht mehr als 10 Personen! Wir waren 37 Personen mit einem minderjährigen Kind,etwa 2 Jahre alt.Dass hat da nichts zu suchen! Zudem war der Katamaran viel zu klein für so viele Personen. Musik viel zu laut! Die Saona Insel,leider,sehr schmutzig! Würde ich nicht weiter empfehlen! Wir waren sehr enttäuscht und verärgert und nicht die einzigen!

Well organized day out. Friendly staff. Small group kept the day fun and we'll paced. Private beach area for the stop was well worth it. Trip back on catamaran paused as we were lucky enough to have dolphins swimming along side us. A real bonus. Great day out.

We were generally very happy with the experience, however being left on the beach for close to an hour waiting for our guide to arrive, only then to have some confusion over who should be getting on the boat (two guests who should not have been there were given access because no name checks were completed before allowing people to embark. This process was only completed when we were changing to the catamaran for the larger part of our trip.).

Too many people on boat and lengthy waiting times, the first snorkeling was not taking to a reef area so pointless snorkeling, the natural swimming pool area was good to see (saw starfish), but the island where had lunch was not great, average food and nothing on island - felt like too long of a day without anything really exciting during the tour.

Small group was fantastic, not overcrowded! The tour guide Danny was brilliant, informative and entertaining. The boat staff were friendly and entertaining! Food was fine! The beach area wasnt as good a previous trip we've been on!

We waited an hour to be picked up and we were the first people to be collected so the driver wasn’t late due to collecting others. We then had a 45 minute bus journey collecting others even though it should have been ten minutes as we were closest to the destination. The vegetarian food requested wasn’t great - “ham and cheese” sandwich then some cucumber, rice and bread at the island. It was a buffet and others used the same tongs to dish up their meat then vegetable rice. swim stop best part

Der Katamaran war nicht besonders schön; Auf der Insel war der Service sehr mager; sehr einfaches Essen; gegen Ende gingen Wasser und Cola aus Auf früheren Fahrten war ein Fotograf dabei Der erste Schnorchelstopp war fast noch im Hafen zwischen Motorbooten und Ölspuren Der zweite war sehr schön mit vielen Seesternen Insgesamt netter Ausflugstag; für den Preis was besseres erwartet

Snorkeling 200 yards if that from the beach. Corals in poor state, then took to beautiful sandy bank. Then to island, food ok, beach so so, quite shingly, section that was for our use, but another section 2 strides away. Catamaran ok. Staff were the best thing. Definitely overpriced.

The whole trip was great. An early start with pickup from the hotel at 6.30 A journey on the coach approx 1.5 hours with history of the area given by the guide. We travelled by speedboat to the Blue Lagoon to do some snorkeling befor3 moving on to swim in waist high waters. Then on to the island where we had a lovely lunch. We went back by a very entertaining crew on the catamaran before going back to the hotel. Snacks and drinks provided during the journeys. 22 on our trip and very enjoyable.

War ein super toller und schöner Ausflug. Der Ausflug ging gute 12 Stunden, dennoch hat er sich gelohnt. Das Essen war Okey, hätte mehr Auswahl sein können und grundsätzlich mehr sein können.

The TUI rep at the hotel, emphasised that we would be picked up last (45m drive- nearly 2 hrs) and dropped off first. This was not the case we were the first on and last off. We told your rep this. He must have known? The TUI guide for the rest of the day was at best, perfunctory.. Little or no interaction. Told us the bare minimum. Appeared he didn’t want to be there. Trip back on the boat was excellent, the crew were great, and we all agreed the captain had a cross dressing thing. Great!

Amazing day so worth it the views are stunning. Everything about the trip was perfect the staff on the boat were brilliant made sure you were looked after and the food was lovely I will say it is a long day and on the island it is very hot but just soak it up in the sea brilliant

Hallo, ich kann leider die Tour nicht weiterempfehlen die Crew Mitglieder am Bord waren zwar sehr nett ! Unser Tour Guide hat uns nicht wirklich was erzählt ! Der sogenannte private Strand waren auch andere Gäste. An der Bar wo auch das Mittag essen gab waren die Herren sehr aufdringlich was zukaufen. Das gleiche auf dem Boot auch man wurde sehr bedrängt Trinkgeld zugegeben die gingen vorher nicht weg ! Für mich ein no Go Und auf dem Rückweg ging uns auch noch der Sprit aus vom Speed Boot !

It was an absolutely amazing day from start to finish, Massa our guide was a truly wonderful man and all the staff in the boats were absolutely brilliant. It was definitely one of the best tui excursions that we have ever done.

The island was not as we thought but maybe the storm was responsible for that , the boat crew were superb couldn’t fault them , we were however uncomfortable with the behaviour of the guide mesa , who referred to tipping for most of the day before going around on the way back with his hand out then counting his tips in front of us like his winnings from the horses , we also witnessed him urinating against tree on the island described as a national park , there were children on this trip

This was an adults 13+ excursion.... or so we thought. There was a child on board and this was not value for money at all. 1st to be picked up so we were on board the coach 2.5 hours. Snorkeling at the 1st stop was up shopping over boats and we got to Snorkel where all the boats are moored in sea full of diesel and pollution not the Snorkeling we had in mind It said a private area on the beach to have diner it was a shared shack with a buffet & bbq to which the food was getting swarmed by flies

Zu kleiner Katamarn/Speedboat für so viele Teilnehmer. Auf dem speedboat ging auch noch der Sprit aus. Das darf nicht passieren. Die TUI Katamaran Ausflüge in Mexiko und Jamaika waren deutlich besser mit hochwertigeren Booten. Preis Leistung nicht gerechtfertigt. Kann ich nicht empfehlen. Meine Freunde ebenfalls nicht

Der Guide hat sehr wenig geredet und fast gar nichts auf Deutsch (einzelne Sätze) Wir mussten noch lange auf unserem Schiff warten im Hafen umher von vielen Verkäufern die die ganze Zeit das gleiche Verkaufen möchten. Außerdem sollte man Trinkgeld den Betreibern geben obwohl die Bootfahrt nicht sehr gut war.

The trip was supposed to be 8 hours which turned out to be 12 hours, it wasn’t the trip that we were planning, the rep said that we were to visit a cenote, (sink hole) but this never happened. We went out to sea on a small boat which you became wet up to the knees trying to board the boat, a pleasant but choppy sail to a calm sea for swimming & refreshments, then onto the island. Next was a boat ride to join a catamaran which everyone had to jump aboard twice, extremely frightening & dangerous.

The explanation from the Tui rep in resort did not match the trip. It took over 12 hours in total from collection in the morning to arriving back at the resort. We would not have booked if we would have had the correct information. The first part of the trip was ok to the island and lunch was good, but coming back was absolutely dangerous changing from boat to catamaran in the ocean twice. Trip back to resort was very uncomfortable in a small van. All in all the worst day of our holiday.

The trip on the catamaran was good, the swim was good but as soon as we got to the island, things went from bad to worse. We had to transfer fro. The catamaran to a speedboat, this was extreamly games for my disabled mum, we git tobthe island, there was sudden downpour of rain, no contingency plan for the rain. We was huddled in huts, getting soaking wet, the toilets overflowed, casuing a terrible smell, we was the last to get off the island, our guide disappeared.more things. Complaint been mad

Loved the outward cruise on the motor Maran. Drinks as we were paddling around in the shallows were good, however, snacks of cheese and ham sandwiches, Doritos and fruit skewers were very basic for what we paid. Trip back, not so great. Out of the two catamarans returning we got the rubbish deal. Not much shade which was not good for my fiancé as she is a recovering breast cancer patient. To compound that, a lack of seats meant we had to sit on a hard floor. Pity as the overall experience was

We paid for the Supreme experience and didn't get it. We were taken on the standard trip with 28 other people including a child. Please ensure your reps do not miss-sell this experience as it really was a disappointing as we specifically booked the supreme version of this trip to celebrate my big birthday. (We have now received compensation from Tui, but it doesn't take away our disappointment of the trip.)

When we arrived at Saona the weather turned poor & rained heavily for rest of the day. So we sat undercover for an hour+ before transferring to an open top speed boat for return journey. We got drenched and wife was sick. Other than that the staff, boats and journey out was fine. But Saona itself was very basic and even if the weather was nice I don't think it would have been worth the high cost (Plastic broken loungers; Average food; Terrible smell; and Seaweed on seabed). Tui site a poor place

Het blauwe water bij het strand is er niet zoals verteld. Wel zie je het op de boot en bij andere stukken strand. Er was verteld dat je met een kleine groep zou gaan, vond de groep best groot. Eten was oké, totdat ik in de avond ziek werd en ********** had opgelopen.

We really enjoyed the whole trip, especially when we were able to stop in the middle of the sea and get off the boat and stand up. The beach was lovely and the sea was so lovely to go in ever for a paddle the catamaran was a lovely calm journey back to the port

Het was een hele leuke excursie zelfs met minder goed weer. De bemanning was goed. De verzorging okay. Maar het was veel mooier (lees luxer) voorgesteld. Er werd vertelt dat het bijna een vip tour zou zijn met een kleine groep mensen op de boot 2 of 3 man ofzo. Op de bbq zouden langoestines zijn enzo. Daar hebben we ook naar betaald. Dit was gewoon een standaard trip met een mannetje van 30 of 40 op een boot. Dus het was leuk maar niet volgens afspraak.

Very expensive for what it was. Food on Saona wasn't great but ok. Rum was free flowing on the catamaran but water not offered. Only 1 bottle of water for 10 people at lunch. Snorkeling spot very close to start of trip so everyone declined it. Guide great.

We really enjoyed our experience on the soana trip. We felt really welcomed on the trip out on the catamaran. The guy was very attentive with drinks and snacks and even had a dance or two. Enjoyable experience and would highly recommend.

Uns hat die Hinfahrt mit dem Katamaran sehr gut gefallen. Unser Guide Dani, „El Presidente“, hat sich sehr um alle gekümmert, viel erzählt und kann sogar sehr gut deutsch. Die weiteren Mitarbeiter auf dem Katamaran waren ebenfalls super und haben zu einer tollen Stimmung beigetragen. Die Schnorchelstelle direkt zu Beginn war irgendwie komisch, es gab auch nicht sonderlich viel zu sehen. Außerdem hat es auf der Insel leider sehr gerochen - vermutlich Seegras/Strömung.
